Great episode, i'm really enjoying this arc, it's smart and mature in the choice of again somewhat slow pace that brings some interesting tension.

It actually feels like a movie that is shaping up, if you look at those 2 episodes separately there is less climax in each than usual in 3/4 parters, but i'm pretty sure it will pay off with the next 2, I do feel Filoni & co know what they're doing with it, and the interesting story, political reflection and characters make it all solid... so i think it's a nice move with this different approach + really can't guess how it's going to conclude -> makes the one week wait feel a bit longer!

Good stuff!

It's strange how low-key everything is.

SW has become Jedi galore and they fly from scene to scene, swinging lightsabers. This is just rebels (soon to be Rebels with a capital R) having to fight enemies without extra help from the Force. :cathead:

With the street-based warfare and changing objectives, this really felt like a Battlefront map being played out. And I see the methods of droid-despatch from last week's training session have been utilised, like the script-writers' boomerangs they are ;)

Shoehorn in some fairly clunky SW movie lines, and you're left with an episode that I feel I shouldn't really have enjoyed. But I did, very much.

Thank you for the up :)

I thought that "Front Runners" was another slightly above average episode. I like the premise, but I don't think the drama is paying off. For me, the "brother" reveal at the end was a dull thud. (Wouldn't Ahsoka already know this information in preparing for the assignment?)

Filoni's commentary about the episode is a must watch for Star Wars fans. He explains in detail how the Clone Wars beget both imperialism and the Rebel Alliance.

A preview for "The Soft War" is below:

Let's hope future commentaries will be as insightful as that one. I always enjoy when Filoni discusses the series themes/characters/etc in depth like in the ForceCast and on other interviews.

Thanks for the SD upload!

An average episode. Nothing too dramatic or spectacular.

I was expecting to see more Ahsoka-Lux-Steela love triangle drama but was let down in that regard. And the ending "brother" reveal was pretty flimsy, as noted, and sorta confusing. But I liked the introduction of the new droid general. Thought he had a cool look and I'm interested in seeing how he's used in the future.

On the whole, not disappointing enough to keep me from being curious about the next episode in the arc but far from stellar.
