That was sorely underwhelming. So Darth Maul, Savage Opress and Death Watch are back next season? Big surprise.
That was my initial impression.
Looking at it with more scrutinous eyes, it almost seems like we may see a team-up between the Sith brothers and Death Watch (as a fellow board member suggested some time ago). Their monologues are too similar. Either that or their steely resolve indicates that some real shit is going down in season 5. But then again, that's definitely expected.
The image is from Starwars.com's Celebration VI content and may have been since removed. The image appears to show The Clone Wars version of Fett's film armor.
Here is the teaser in 720p with download links at the top.
If I had to pick a marketing name for Season 5, it would be “Villains Unleashed.” I look forward to delving into Dooku’s motivations, watching Death Watch takeover, and seeing the Maul brothers dodge bounty hunters while they create mayhem.
I find the Bantha Skull on the one Death Watch warrior to be telling. As part of his evolution, maybe Boba connects-up with Vizsla and his miscreants. BTW, TFN sniffed out the origin of the Boba image: it’s for Star Tours.
Regarding deaths: since the leaked trailer shows Death Watch taking over Mandalore, it seems like Satine’s time is short. Her execution would symbolize a new muscular change in leadership. Plus, Vizsla deems her pacifists approach to be a betrayal of the planet’s true past.
For dramatic purposes, it’s possible that Lux may go as well. I wonder if Anakin would stoke or stave off Ahsoka’s desire for revenge.
This thread's posts are - well using the hot political term of the day: "evolving". Mainly purported Clone Wars Fett images, Season Five Trailer, and Insider Scans were embedded.

LICENSED BOOKS AND STAR WARS FILMS & TELEVISION DO NOT LIVE IN SAME UNIVERSE
"There is no more clear illustration of the difference between Expanded Universe and the Star Wars created by George Lucas. The EU is a well of ideas, and there's what's on screen. They don't live in the same universe.
Everyone wants to think so I know, and there is a lot of effort to make it all work, but it's all clear when you really start looking at it that when you take ideas from the printed realm and bring it on the screen, it's not always the same.
They relate. There are similarities. I still enjoy a lot of those stories. I think there are a lot of great ideas. They influence you. They inspire you, which I think is the whole point of having the EU. We try to honor things when we can, to give nods to things, but at the end of the day there is a difference between what you see in the Star Wars films and TV series and what you see in those books. ... "
- Dave Filoni, Clone Wars Producer, Insider #136 Interview.
Thanks for posting the interview, DP. I think Filoni's comments about darker times for Obi-wan doesn't spell well for The Duchess. I hope I'm wrong about her demise. But, I suspect I'm right.
It means that Dave Filoni, Clone Wars Producer is like Prequels Producer, Rick McCallum: Mouth of Lucas. Lucas has consistently stated in interviews now spanning decades that Licensing does not exist in his universe. Note that Lucas doesn't even refer to hired writer's novels and comics as the "Expanded Universe" but as "Licensing".
The Expanded Universe, "The EU" is merchandise with the internal A-Z cannon level system (G-Cannon, T-Cannon, etc) developed for the third-party licensed novels, comics, games, and bath salts to follow. With that said, I would have preferred Lucas not use anything from the Licensing Universe in his current works so as to prevent any continuity drama.
