What do you guys expect?

The 1982 version with Kurt Russell , to me is still an icon, also because of Rob Bottin's creations, untill this day I consider it one of the most horrifying movies , mostly because of the suspense like you can experience when you see the first Alien film for the first time.

I'm expecting difference in special effects, with hopefully some input by Rob Bottin.

Carpenter's Thing will always be on my top horror/sci-fi film list. This re-remake surprisingly looks like it has the potential for not sucking. Many shots, however, are so close to the 1982 production that I wonder if this film will have trouble creating its own identity. It leads me to ask who decided we needed an effects makeover for this story? I guess it will be good for some box office and I will end up seeing it!

Because it's not a remake, it's a prequel, and about the Norwegian team that was found in the beginning of the 1982 movie, so it should have some similarities, to make it convincing.

It's a prequel? Wow those Norwegian scientists sure had much better computer programs and graphics in the early 80's than the American Antarctic team did ;)

Early reviews of The Thing Prequel are not good. However above is latest (red band) trailer for it.
