So did he remove the chick Yoda with Farrah Fawcett hair?

Yep, there they are. More prequel changes!

I don't think the walking shot of yoda with Obiwan is new- that was digital in the original release- the only CGI yoda shot in TPM- would explain why it looks pretty bad-

Coruscant sunset looks absolutely terrible now, very harsh feeling.

Neimoidian viewscreen was always weird, felt like they were looking out the open blast door, not a bad change.

Sweet Jebus, AOTC Watto looks deadfall in those wide shots. Talk about cut and paste. Looks OK in the mid shots but sheesh...

na, if you watch the documentary on TPM DVD or maybe it was the commentary - it says that shot was the first CGI yoda shot.

Shame they couldn't fix Ewan's reshoot wig and jowls in TPM, the wig, beard and skinny AOTC combo and the ROTS wig and beard.

So sodding distracting.

That Yoda is from the original cut. It was a midget in a suit. I remember hearing about this way back.

there are two yoda wide naboo shots, and one is a midget in a suit and the other is CGI when he is talking to Obiwan

In the midst of everyone saying this NEEDS fixing in the OT and that NEEDS fixing in the OT, can I just say could someone please fix that horrible horns-attached-with-bubblegum look with some CGI please...?
Also, does Padme look Boss Nass in the eyes now during the end ceremony, or is she still inexplicably gazing at his midriff as she hands him that pointless ball of energy?

OMG The image of that Coruscant sunset just burned my eyes. It's more like an interrogation lamp than a sun.

Actually, I think there was one other CG Yoda shot in the funeral scene. I don't know how I know this.

I never realized how the background in the Coruscant sunset is basically a painting. Or how fake Darth Maul's horns look.

what I'm waiting on is the bonus deleted scenes disk to leak somewhere.

some of this CGI is REALLY looking dated now in HD. Yoda in AOTC looks like crap some shots. let that be a lesson. Puppets > CG

ending of TPM with CGI Yoda;

These are the MKVs, right, not the ISOs? Sith looks good - nice detail and sharpness in that pic of Grevious particularly.

HEY! Is that Sam Jackson in the celebration?! Have we finally got rid of generic black-guy Mace?!

and in news in some way relevant to this thread, check out the sample of the TMP ending Bearvomit posted in the other thread - I think Sam Jackson has replaced generic black jedi guy in the celebration.

Sam has always been in the parade. It's the Palpatine landing shots that use a double along with midget Yoda. There have always been two digital Yoda shots that have gone unchanged, the walking shot in the tower and the establishing shot of the funeral pyre.

The Phantom Menace is very soft. At best it has a moderate level of DNR. At its very worst is the Qui-Gon closeup above, flat-out DVD edge enhancement and images so sharp they're pixelated. Clarity and color are very inconsistent from shot to shot within the same scene. The podrace is the longer 2001 cut, and it really sounds fantastic. There's a noticeable audio addition of some alien gibberish during Jabba's introduction.

For a new film transfer, it is a bit of a disappointment. Again, I wonder if the film was intentially 'cleaned' to look like video when it was released in '99. I really have nothing to compare it against to prove that. I can see that the 2001 master has the same soft and sharpened scenes.

The extended framing really opens up the settings, however some shots are actually tighter. Compared to what we've been shown before it looks brilliant.

Hmmm ... if you guys say so. I seem to remember a really shitty double for the shot on the stairs. Been a LONG time since I've seen TMP though so might just be misremembering. I was just SO sure though.

nope! still a stand in the shot where they walk down the landing platform now even more obvious in HD!

After seeing the ending with the improved CG Yoda I must say that I like it a whole lot better than that damn puppet. At least with this they gave him the ability to show expression more.

I guessed that out of all the films, Episodes II and III would be closest to the Lucas "vision." The only visual difference I found in Attack of the Clones was a strong teal overlay to the entire film. I don't understand this at all and I thought it might be an issue with the 1080p encode. However this is present in both 720p and 1080p rips as well as shots posted in previous weeks. The stark whites of Kamino are now the blues of Kamino.

I found one discernible audio addition, and that is a Shmi voiceover during Anakin's [s]wetdream[/s] nightmare.

Perfect, muchas gracias!

It seems to make the scene less wet and more nightmarish.

Now what about ROTS, any changes there?

This. Thank you for your support, and please vote for me in 2016.

Thanks for the screencaps btw. Wow, Darth Maul looks like he's fan-made in HD! Maybe I will wait a while longer on that blu-ray player afterall.

Revenge of the Sith is a perfect digital transfer. Image quality is great, colors are vibrant and the surround sound is wonderful. Out of all six films this one is definitely exact its original presentation. In addition, the blu-ray returns it to the theatrical cut, meaning the Obi-Wan/mechanical hand wipe is back.

I aggree, watched some of ROTS last night and just jaw dropping clarity. Really amazed. The sound is much better then I remember it being. Especially in the opening sequence when there are quite alot of explosions going on. I remember my speakers sounding like they were crackling out or something as a ship passed through an explosion etc. This time it was just clean clear and not to over the top.

The Ep 1 and 2 are still being worked on so I can't preview those yet. Hoping for tonight, but the way it looks likely not :-/ Very anxious to see the Pod Race scene in TPM in 6.1 DTS-MA. Honestly other then TPM picture quality most of the releases in video standards arn't what im looking for. All about the audio.

Two sequences in AotC have been re-edited. (can't remember if this was done for the DVD) During the Zam chase sequence when Anakin and Obi go through the power coupling, the first shot has been recomped (shift left) then the establishing shot of the power thing has been moved.

The post Yoda/Dooku battle aftermath has also been resequenced. Anakin & Obi hurt and Yoda slumping his shoulders is moved up, and Padme's arrival/Dooku escape is pushed back.

Also the overall Teal shift might disappear for the shot of Anakin saying to Padme "I'm a Jedi, I know i'm better than this" shot.

I see Obi's hip still gets crushed during the duel with Dooku in the beginning of ROTS. Dooku pulls that catwalk ramp down and slams it on his hip and scoots him a good yard on the floor. I remember thinking :o in the theater when I first saw this. Maybe it was a rubber catwalk.

I noticed an audio change in TPM that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere. After Padme calls for a vote of no confidence in Chancellor Valorum, the chanting of "Vote Now" seems to have been removed.

I just checked and you're right. I suppose this makes sense because the congress is full of aliens that speak different languages. Why would they all be yelling in English, aka human Star Wars talk?

new audio I believe in ep3, during the Obi vs Grievous fight, right after Grievous loses two hands, the clone troopers swing in with added individual voices. "Everybody out, move it, move it, let's go let's go, come on." very clear and accentuated

I think I preferred the DVD version of ROTS where it's a hard cut to the mech hand from Obi-wan and not the wipe. It seemed to deliver more of a punch. Kind of sad to see it go back to the theatrical presentation.

One thing I noticed when watching the Blu-Ray rip for ROTS, when Cody and his batallion of Clones arrived at Utapau to help Obi-Wan you hear I believe Cody saying, "Everybody out! Move it! Let's go, let's go!" Then you hear other Clones saying, "Move it, move it!" and grunting and such as they're hit and go down. That type of audio wasn't with the original DVD version.
