God I hope they legalize pot so scary bastards like you can calm the fuck down. While I don't disagree with all of that, except that Mrs Oblix is the hottest piece of ass walking today and she wont let me show anyone the pictures, what are you going to do about it? Time travelling to 1776 and bringing back the enlightened yet racist founders of the country wont help.
We need to figure out how we can use the meritous acts and deeds of the past to make a fairer and more progressive tomorrow for everyone, not just 'win the game' for whichever group loyalty we are playing off of today. The monetary system we use to distribute power, and the political systems we use to distribute influence, have been hijacked by small groups that uses our own group-think against us. The chaotic results we have achieved on this planet, when technologically we could be capable of so much more already, are a joke. A mean spirited one to most, and a sickly profitable one for a few. Talking, voting, hell even shooting doesn't do any good against such a problem. Kings, would be and actual, still exist. And because of this gross misdistribution of wealth and power, people die and struggle in ways they shouldn't have to. We should, as Americans, be rejecting the notion of an 'upper class'. People who amass a fortune and do nothing progressive with it, other than show it off, provide no forward momentum to civilization. Those who inherit wealth and squander it actually push us backward. Yet we idolize these people, and put them on 'Reality' TV shows, and are supposed to give a shit about them and scramble to be like them. Fuck that. I don't need to be rich, but I'd rather not be broke all the time.
The only thing I see changing anything for the better is radical ideas, and new technologies that detach the individual from dependance on the exchange-of-power society. Like free energy, or machines that could make you bulletproof, or fly, or a replicator. Any way to make life and death seperate from the uneven forces of commerce and the limited functions of our transportation networks would be a good start. We need for people to see that 'marketing', as opposed to direct 'advertising', or selling ideas or things based on perceptions and not hard facts, is a corrupt notion. Lobbyists, politicians, and commonly businesses, all want you to respond positively to a message and give them your power, be it time money or influence. Give me something good, and it's yours. We have allowed the idea, that selling someone a shiny well marketed turd is FINE, to survive for far too long.
We need to stop exchanging our power for well marketed turds, folks. And stop being scared of the dark.
Until then, we're just as fucked. Stick that in yer infowars and smoke it. |
