I hoped that they would have fixed up the deleted scenes a bit more though. It looks like old super 8 movies

That was a pretty damn nice teaser. It looks like ILM did clean them up. I've seen footage of some of them a few years ago and they weren't very good quality at all, especially with the Luke on Tatooine looking up to see the Imperial Star Destroyer and Tantive IV.

God September 16th can't come quick enough...

I did also notice the binoculars scene is now in colour, as far as I remember it was in black & white, or was it just me?

Nope, not just you. That clip was previously released in black and white on the Behind the Magic CD.

Goddamn I can't wait for this box set.

The close-up from that Treadwell scene is a completely different shot to the black and white version we saw on Behind The Magic as well...

So if we assume prequel deleted scenes are the same as DVD:

8 AOTC
6 ROTS

21 scenes from the prequels

Possibly 24 scenes from the Original Trilogy?

That's a little too good to be true. Maybe more prequel deleted/extended?

The pie in the face (I'm betting) will be that some of these scenes will be from OT theatrical releases that were cut for the '97 special editions/'04 DVDs. So we'll see Shaw as ghost Anakin, Sy Snootles original number, Ewoks yub nub song, the version of Han shooting first and of course the laughable SE Han and Greedo both shooting at the same time. Even better, maybe after all these years George Lucas will explain why he changes scenes with a nice introduction to each. If its Rick McCallum..then I'll have to take that as another pie in the face.

I hope so. There are many prequel deleted scenes I would like to see. In fact, I'm more interested in those than some of the OT deleted scenes.

I've heard the duel between Anakin and ObiWan was supposed to be significantly longer. I would love to see the footage that got cut.

The only prequel deleted scene I'd be interested in is an extended Duel of the Fates. Some of it can be seen in "The Beginning" documentary.

I'd love to see that aswell. There's also Qui-Gon and Maul duel on the ramp, Obi-Wan's saber fried, AotC Jedi attack team, etc, etc...

Agreed on the prequel scenes. I've held out this glimmer of hope that Liam Neeson did his force ghost voice overs for ROTS during his CW recordings.

For AotC, don't forget that Hyperspace had the partly completed but deleted "Assault on the Core Ship" sequence, where that one phallus-headed gentleman goes to shut the droids down a la TPM, only to find that now they can function independantly. For ESB, maybe the shots of Lando rescuing Luke on the partial Falcon top-side set?

shouldn't there be the original first meeting with C3p0 on Tatooine-

the one in the movie he already has his coverings and it looks like an absolute terrible CG green screen shot-

the original version with C3P0 with no coverings should be on a harddrive at the ranch, no?

In truth, I'm just as excited about the potential PT material as I am with the OT stuff. I didn't realize there would be so much left out (outside the senate scenes in ROTS). It would be really sweet to see most of it.

Does anyone know if any of those scenes went far enough to have scoring done on them? Or were they casualties to the cutting room floor before then? Just a question for those in the know.

To answer your question, it's probably a bit of both. The scene with Luke and his new lightsaber at the beginning of ROTJ was scored, but I'm sure many other scenes were not.
