Ackbar thanks for all your hard work posting this. The other embedded videos are hidden to save on page length.

That first video pretty much independently owned and operated anything Star Wars going back to 1980. While that maybe exaggerating - don't even bother watching the embedded flash - download the HD mov and see for yourself. :)

Aside from the The Old Republic Cinematic Trailer, two other noteworthy ones are the Timeline 1 & Timeline 2 videos. Though not action packed as the Cinematic Trailer, the two videos provide a interesting backstory to it. The rest of the videos are standard docs.

The trailer for the game is pretty damn good and I'm very impressed with how real looking the CG characters are. They're done in a better way than what we saw in The Force Unleashed, even the saber combat moves are more fluid and flow more naturally.

Edit: What I'm not happy about is the fact this will be an online game only. I was hoping with the success for KOTOR I and II they'd make it a single player game as well.

It was a great trailer, but I wonder if that means they're retooling the character models again (to move towards more realistic versions). I was under the impression (and it makes the most sense, mechanically) that they're using slightly less real-proportioned characters, as this is what all their media up until now shows.

Seriously, that trailer kicked my ass. I loved it. Why can't they do action like that in the regular clone wars series?

Cool trailer, although the villain looks like a poor man's Darth Vader.

Intense.

Between this and the FUII trailer it's some insanely good CGI work.

This is honestly how I pictured the Clone Wars to be. Absolutely fucking picture perfect.

This is definitely the best computer animation I've seen for humans, very realistic. Isn't it funny how story and dialogue from a game can be better than the Prequels themselves?

Maybe it’s the forest, but this sequence reminds me more of Willow than Star Wars. Regardless, it was very impressive.

On G4 last night, there was a brief clip about The Clone Wars. Filoni mentioned that the style of the show was a function of practicality. Translation: it would take way too much time and money for them to produce something as highly detailed as this trailer. (I’m curious to know how long it took to produce these few minutes.)

Not really. It’s just stock Braveheart-type hyperbole. You could find the same scenario and speech attached to any 3rd person Sci-fi game.

Exactly. While cool, it feels more like some video game nerd's wet dream more than it feels like Star Wars. I mean the amount of slow motion in these cut scenes is distracting. One thing that I really respect about GL is his insistence on sticking to his style. Putting it into someone else's hands and this is what starts happening. People start adding what they think would be "cool" and little by little it begins turning into The Matrix or something. Part of the reason The Clone Wars works as well as it does it because of GL's direct involvement.

And saying that this 5 minute clip has better story telling than the prequels is just ridiculous. It's a single clip of one fight, and there's no indication as to who the characters are.

That's the most well written first post I've seen here. You'll go far. :heavymetal:

I could live without the slowmo shit and over-the-top Force (this game and TFU). Nevertheless, the CG work here is incredible. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a short film like this if was shot classic-trilogy style and had a plot.

Gamers also need to see the Ass Creed: Brotherhood trailer, done in the same action blast style.

I agree with what K.Steeze said, with pin point accuracy. I have the same gripes, however I would like to add, that the trailer did not feel like it was set, 3000 years before the film saga. It looked too much like Republic Clone Troopers from the Clone Wars, fighting Sith, who had Destroyer Droids and Imperial Star Destroyers. Seems not much changes in the SW universe, in 3000 years.

And just think, that's all throw away work for marketting. The chance of any of this ever being in the game very slim

I read on another internet forum site, that it took them two and a half months to complete that trailer.
