Sideswipe is going to be fucking awesome. He just looks like a bad ass and that third pic of him basically sliding looks great.

Nice! About time some official imagery started showing up. Hopefully more are on the way. Definitely want to see renders for Sideways, Soundwave and the individual Constructicon robots.

Looks like Starscream's CG model has been modified a bit, he looks less triangle-ish than in the first film.

:heavymetal: those are really good! I'm hoping there's a big suprise in store for us at the end. Something to battle Devestator. Maybe omega supreme or Superion. or maybe they'll save those for part 3!

I had a complete omega supreme toy. sold him last year for $130 !

I realize I'm late to the party but I just realized the decepticon logo is modeled after the Fallen's head.

Fucking awesome.

In a shocking turn of events, Steven Spielberg told Michael Bay that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen may be his best work yet.

This is in surprising contrast to the last Transformers film when Spielberg commented, "I have no idea what the fuck is happening in this movie."

Michael Bay got the high five from Steven during a private screening. His official website forum boards has the deep dish info:

Steven Spielberg sat next to me in a big 100 person theater at Sony today. There were 98 empty seats. The lights came up after we just watched my cut of Revenge of the Fallen. He turned to me and said "It's awesome". He felt this movie was better than the first - and probably my best, who knows - at this point in a movie you start to lose your objectivity. I just hope the fans like it. I'm going to start putting it in front of audiences in a few weeks - no you are not invited, yet.

We have 60 days left. Let me tell you it will be a race to finish. It's 12 at night and we are still working here in the edit room. Everyone at ILM and DD are killing themselves right now, they are doing a stellar job on the effects. We also just finished our trailer which is coming out with Wolverine. Talk to you soon.

Michael

All signs point to Jetfire combining (into a jetpack) with Prime to take on Devastator & Fallen.

Movie Theater standee from MTV & AICN. Needs more Devastator and Fallen.

That scene with Bumblebee was absolutely cringe-inducing. "You'll always be my first car?" Ugh.

That scene was definitely awkward - very un-Shia-like.

However that action was unfuckingbelievable. Wow.

EDIT: 2:22 mark you can see Prime fighting Megs.

Bumblebee crying was a bit too much.

The rest of the clip is jawdropping! :heavymetal: Tons of robots in this thing, I think I even spot the return of Blackout at 2:10! That's a surprise.

The return of blackout was surprising and awesome. Sucks that the Decepticons can bring back their dead but the Autobots can't?

EDIT: That's definitely Sideswipe. Also, there's a shot in 2:22 of Optimus in a factory and he's holding a huge blaster aiming it towards the screen at a decepticon. There looks to be so many set pieces in this flick in so many locations. I'm honestly kind of blown away by the scope of the film. That temple Bumblebee and the twins are at looks like the one from Last Crusade.

As already stated numerous times I could of done without the Sam and Bumbleebee segment as well as the gratitious Megan Fox interwoven scene. The rendered Transformers look at little to animated but that maybe because it's still unfinished product. Also, Bay is pretty awesome to release this.

Footage sans BumbleBee - the second half of the video in other words: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=70LHFW6A (247mb, 1080p)

I think as for the transformer renders are concerned, the trailers won't do it justice. I remember some of the renders from the TF1 trailers looking a little too animated and that turned out pretty awesome. The shot that looks the most 'cartoony' is probably the shot before Sideways jumps through the building - but even that looks fucking awesome from an action standpoint.

And I totally agree: for Bay to release this is really a cool thing to do by any measure.

After watching a frame-by-frame I picked up on a couple awesome things:

- Starscream fighting Megs on the roof of that building in a quick shot.
- Starscream and Megs v. Optimus in the shot of Optimus with dual blasters shooting towards the camera at Megs.

I agree Bumblee crying was a bit too much but the rest of the scenes owned. I think this movie will end up being bigger and better than the first Transformers film. I hope it does well at the box office.

I think this will be the one that lost me. It looks like it's shaping up to be a CW robot drama. And the robots are still clusterfucky beyond any sort of recognition if they move even an inch. Get them together and they're just abstract patterns moving around.

It's hard to care about these things when you can't tell what's going on.

I agree 100%

In the cartoons you always knew who was who.

In these movies we have too many metallic gears/parts/shit going around it's difficult to tell.

After repeated viewings the Transformers ShoWest Footage gets even more awesome. Regarding my previous comments about the renders, Bay recently stated how some of the effects were unfinished:

Michael Bay @ ShootForTheEdit.com

QUOTE: I just wanted the fans to get a taste of what we have been making for a year and a half because we have been so quiet. The piece was cut about a month ago for this Showest thing I accepted this past month - so as you can see many of the shots were far from being finished renders.

CS.net says a new trailer is coming this Thursday (April 30 2008):

QUOTE: In related news, the new trailer for Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will come online at noon Pacific Time on Thursday, April 30th.

Paramount obviously is having the youtubs removed. Above is a pretty good download copy. I'm saving most of my viewings for the HD trailer but initial thoughts are and I hate saying this is that Shia's role needs to be cut back.

I actually liked what I saw from Shia in this trailer. It eased my concerns from the bumblebee scene. He seems more on the ball in the trailer. It's probably important to note that his schtick doesn't play well in snapshots - the charm of his character comes from its development. I thought he was goofy and I was actually concerned about the first flick's worth from seeing the those trailers, but it was clear from the final product that Shia made that entire flick work.

I think there's a shot of Optimus smacking Megs with a sword (like the one in TF1)? If so that's fucking awesome. I don't think it's a stretch to think that the action in this flick could be the best out there.

I'm sure it's going to be the same this time around; no matter how many giant fucking robots are blowing shit up on screen the human element and down-to-earth comedy is going to ground the digital hijinks in reality.

Christ it looks awesome

Optimus fighting with two swords? Kicking Starscream in the face? Fucking awesome.

Bay really took the criticisms of the first movie to heart - there's a lot more wide-action shots. The trailer alone has a bunch.

EDIT: Who's the decepticon with the huge mini-gun? It's the same bot towards the end that's reaching for the camera. Could that be Soundwave? I know it doesn't match the toys but who else could it be? Whoever it is looks similar to Megs - the style of the body.

Some interesting but unconfirmed spoilers from TransformersLive

[spoil]
[hr]
[align=left]
• The robot with the "loose" treads is called Scrapper. Hence the reason he is "fist" fighting with Bumblebee.
• The yellow robot is Rampage.

• The helicopter is Blackout. You could see it at the ShoWest if you were there but more now with a HD feed of this trailer you can see that Blackout has rust on him just like Megatron does. Blackout is mostly intact.

• The robots crashing into the aircraft carrier are the Constructicons. Many people believed it was members of Starscream's air force but as you can see from the video there are no robots present. We saw an additional scene where Long Haul and Mixmaster are destroying the ship from within and end up ripping the hull of the carrier in half.

• Constructicons revive Megatron. Left: Mixmaster, middle: Long Haul, right: Rampage- What I was told is Soundwave has been scanning vehicles and when the Decepticons come to earth they fly by him in space and receive their alt mode on the way down.

• This is why Long Haul, Scrapper, and Mixmaster are as their alt modes over Megatron. Brawl and Bonecrusher do not return. They use Brawls parts to reform Megatron underwater (tank tracks and fitted with a particle cannon that Soundwave provides.

• Soundwave is only seen in the trailer as one of the 4 robots down in the ocean. By the way if you think Long Haul is huge Soundwave is about 6 feet taller. The other plot point is the cold and pressure does not affect their bodies like the humans thought they would. Two Decepticons give up their sparks to revive Megatron and Blackout who we find out is 3rd in command behind Starscream.

• Michael Bay made Soundwave's role as Megatron's most trusted friend (aka bodyguard and secretly unknown to Starscream as the real number 2) hence the recovery effect by the Decepticons.
Megatron rises- Mixmaster and Megatron can semi-fly in the film but not much. Megatron has back rockets and Mixmaster has the spinning gears turbines under his arm shields (cement mixer barrel) that he uses a few times. Mixmaster has a lot of screen time.

• We saw a short 5 second shot where Long Haul stomps on Jazz's corpse underwater.
• There are 5 other jets that fly with Starscream but have not been named at the time of the show. I do not know the type of aircraft.
• Barricade is the one crashing into the library but isn't seen.

[hr]
:siren: Update: To add to the above, a post from a possible DreamWorks employee confirms some of the above and denies other. It has a tinge of the realistic to it and is convincing enough to make it worth posting. As always though, all of this remains unproven but very interesting. Some edits made for clarity, my comments in brackets.

This is a shock to us here at Dreamworks. We are NOT asking you to remove this info but we will clear some up for you. I will say that most of the info is correct but some is not.

• The robot that is fighting Bumblebee is NOT "Scrapper" because if you look closely he is seen by the wall when Shia & Megan jump from the blast of Starscream. We aren't revealing if the red bulldozer has a name just yet. Around 10 bots will be nameless.

• 2 Decepticons do NOT give up their spark for the return of Megatron. It is just one. If you look through TF mythology this won't come as a surprise. This character willingly sacrifices himself.

• A lot of people speculate that the tank tracks on Megatron are from Brawl--they are NOT. His tank tracks are Cybertronian metal and that is the reason most of his body has rust but the tracks do not. He is built from deceased Decepticons but not from the Laurentian Abyss. There is a double-meaning to the name LongHaul.

• Isabel's character is NOT a human form for Ravage. I will not say who but think back to the videos I am sure you have seen with the crew & the puppet-like minion. Ravage actually has nothing to do with the college aspect. Soundwave enlists someone else for that job. All I can say is this. Ravage is far too big to be Isabel.

• There isn't a character in the film named "Gridor" because it indeed is Blackout. We had that toy made because we weren't going to show him until this final trailer and we felt if the toy was leaked with that name it would ruin the surprise. Mike insisted on the scene with him in it for the Vegas footage. Fans will indeed see a Blackout toy after the release of the film.

• Starscream does have re-enforcements however there are only 3 that accompany him. They also use the same scanning technique. If you remember, we had an original artwork with Soundwave in his satellite mode where meteor bots are flying by. Ehren came up with the idea like Teletran-1 for the Autobots. This is but one of the many things Soundwave adds to this film. Mike loved this idea because it saves time on having each individual bot scan & transform.

• That was a secret of ours however, one of our biggest secrets is now revealed regarding Barricade. As Mike would say the cat's out on that one. The crew knew the cop car would draw attention on set hence the reason there wasn't a confirmed set-picture---the car is CGI for roughly 3 seconds before a transformation to robot form occurs.

• The rest of the info is indeed accurate along with the info on Jazz. We knew a lot of people wanted him to show up but if everyone returned it defeats the purpose of having tragedy in the franchise---same with Brawl & Bonecrusher.

These guys? The consensus is that they are Decepticon protoforms. Their heads are very similar to Blackout's. The old leaked treatment also had a lot of "generic" Decepticons in the final battle so this could be another element carried over from that. Or they could just be some of the new Decepticons before they take on Earth modes.

Yeah that's them. It would make sense that they were decepticon protoforms...mindless soldiers maybe? I don't know if I like that concept yet. The magic of Transformers is that all of these characters are unique and have personalities. I don't know how interesting a bunch of decepticon soldiers would be - then it just becomes robots fighting humans; and there's nothing different about that from Terminator or any other sci-fi actioneer pitting man-kind against aliens or robots.

Those 'spoilers' are complete horseshit from dorks living in their parents' basement. Let me tell you how a 'Dreamworks employee' would suddenly find this guy's blog and dump spoiler info to clear up an unconfirmed 'insider's' bogus info.

In any case, I'd like to see Soundwave already. And I don't buy for a second that Jazz appears in this film in any capacity - yeah, he just happens to be dumped in the ocean right next to Megs...that's exactly what Prime and the Autobots would do.

It is stupid but they did indeed bury Jazz at sea along with the Decepticons in prequel comic Alliance #3.

That's probably for a movie or photo shoot. If you're looking for evidence of skankiness I think the "Stuff" magazine pics were far more incriminating but that's neither here nor there. The girl's a sex symbol and without going the route of the obligatory Hollywood sex tape (yet) she's filling the role... well, admirably. What more do you expect from the girl most people know as "the hot chick in the robot movie?"

There was a time that I agreed with Jen Connelly, especially Dark City. But as of late, I've found her less and less attractive.

Correct. she's gone way downhill. Besides; she's not sexy enough for me - and I need that from my sex symbols. She's just a pretty girl who looks like a starfish in the sack.

While Megan Fox is "technically" attractive, to me she is all hair extensions, eye contacts, makeup, and implants. Although I'm not what the video is supposed to accomplish, I posted the video for those who are into her. Does Esquire think it's spank material? In regards to Connelly, something happened in between Requiem For A Dream and A Dangerous Mind (and The Hulk 2003) - she lost a ton of weight, had some work done on her face, and had breast reduction.

In other news, we have are the first look and confirmation of the leaked call sheets from page one:

BELOW: The first alt(ernate) mode of MudFlap and Skids is the Ice Cream Truck, of which the "twins" combine into.

I prefer to remember the "Career opportunities" Jennifer Connelly with the huge rack in the tight white t-shirt. :bunnys:
