When reading that review I noticed some MIDIs - they are based on notes from the score seen on the Mad-Movies page:

Irina's Theme - http://www.archive.org/download/IrinasT ... sTheme.mp3

Irina's Theme/Raiders Theme (Speculated) Connection -
http://www.archive.org/download/Indy-ir ... -Irina.mp3

Irina's Theme (w/ chords) -
http://www.archive.org/download/IrinasT ... chords.mp3

The Crystal Skull Theme -
http://www.archive.org/download/Crystal ... lTheme.mp3

The Crystal Skull Theme (Orchestrated) -
http://www.archive.org/download/Crystal ... trated.mp3

Props to Esther Grimschitz who created them. This is the closest thing to a preview of the score that we have (so far) until Soundtrack.net gives us a taste in the next few weeks (I'm assuming).

Irina's theme seems to be the Anti-Raiders Theme, with a vibe like 'Anakin's Theme' forshadowing 'The Imperial March'.

'The Crystal Skull Theme' definitely has an 'Ark of the Covenant' feel - straight out of Raiders. I feel like a heroin addict right now I've had a taste, now I'm going to sell my grandma's belongings for more.

Thoughts?

Amazon has samples of the soundtrack!!

:chewbacca:

I'm loving what i've heard so far. Sounds a lot more like classic '80s Williams than the prequel scores did.

Marion's Theme :yay:

VERY VERY 80s Williams. Wow.

Journey to Akator gave me the chills.

The soundtrack for ROTS was leaked on this very messageboard back on April 9, 2005. That's around 6 weeks before the film's release. Here we stand 15 days before KOTCS is out, and no soundtrack leak.

That deserves either a pat on the back for LFL's people, or a kick in their ass for not allowing us to "acquire" it sooner. I'm not sure which. But I am getting more excited for this film as each day goes by!

Woah baby. It sounds so awesome! I cannot wait. In "The Adventures Of Mutt", it seems Williams is referencing Lost Boys music from Hook! Listen for a quote of "The Map Room: Dawn" in "The Spell Of The Skull". Wow, those giddy statements of the Raiders March in "The Journey To Akator". "A Whirl Through Academe" sounds like a vintage 1980's Williams action cue. You can practically feel the alien presence in track 17.

Yes I just read that is supposedly available in Australia. If so it should be up on the various torrent sites in no time. I'm [F5]'ing waffles.fm right now. The soundtrack should be and will be posted publically since we had to wait :whatevaho:

Well, if this is the same as mine, it's fake. It plays a video of Sweeney Todd when I preview "Return" lol. But maybe that's my computer.

Yah, um I'm pretty sure the finale is John Williams' most inspired work of the decade. Unbelieveable.

Yeah thanks again and not sure if we should be bitching the uploader is Australian and they really came though like you did as usual. Demonoid is pretty much public and new torrents can be downloaded by non-registered users.

In fact - at this moment, the Demonoid torrent probaby is faster than direct freehost links

Initial thoughts on the score:

Track 01 - Raider's March (2008): Grand new interpretation of the classic Raider's March. :furry:
Track 04 - Irina's Theme: The Soviet sound if there ever was one.
Track 19 - Finale: Marion's Theme :yay:

Sounds great so far. Ditched the friends because DP messaged me on my phone about the score being available (which I had already been downloading earlier to no avail since there were no seeders). It was worth it. Call Of The Crystal, which is fucking awesome, reminds me of Voldemort's Theme.

The Adventures Of Mutt is a lot of fun and certainly reminiscent of Hook. The Lost Boy Chase? I love the playful statements of the Raiders March in this one.

In The Spell Of The Skull we hear the Ark theme, which admittedly made me nearly fall out of my chair. I'm assuming this underscores the warehouse sequence.

I have to LOL at the Spanish music in The Journey To Akator. It just comes out of nowhere after what is undoubtedly the film's plane-on-the-map sequence.

Well after a few listens, Irina's Theme is starting to become my fav: very slow and sinister. Another new favorite - Mutt's Theme is like the Anakin's theme of the score with interwoven Raiders March motifs towards the end. Finale is the Rebel Fleet - End Titles from the Empire soundtrack of the score with Irina and Mutt's Theme motifs in the middle.

Oh yes, as mentioned: The Journey To Akator starts off with a Raiders motif then OUT OF FUCKIN NOWHERE CHEECH & CHONG UP IN SMOKE :XD: :weed:

The beginning of The Jungle Chase reminds me of Jango's Escape with the xylophones. This is definitely a very good score by Williams.

The jungle chase reminds me a LOT of the tank battle from Lost Crusade. I think this score is great and you know there's a bunch of cues that are left off the soundtrack. As it is, it's pretty thematic - especially the action pieces (much like the OT and classic Indy) and I can't wait to see how it's translated on screen.

PS: Around 2:26 or so of Orenalla's Cradle, they blend the Call of the Crystal with Marion's theme. Awesome.

Personal favorite themes right now are Call Of The Crystal and Adventures Of Mutt. The Crystal's theme seems fairly simple, like the Ark theme, but is wonderful and as I've said sounds so badass when it builds up. Mutt is just damn fun. Did Williams work the Raiders March in with the knowledge that Mutt is Indy's offspring? I guess we shall see. Irina's Theme (aka the Russians' theme?) sounds very badass in Jungle Chase. I don't think it's as good as, say, the Nazi theme from Last Crusade, but it is very good. Ants! reminded me a bit too much of other Williams' scores of recent years, I think The Spiders from Chamber Of Secrets or Spyders from Minority Report. Possibly both. All in all this is my favorite score since The Phantom Menace.

I think it's easily his most inspired since then. There's a lot of heart in this score, and for geeks of the series, a lot of boner-inducing cues and motifs. It's a perfect blend of new and old in my opinion. I thought at first there was some mistake when 'Spell of the Skull' came on.

As great as this score seems to be, it makes me a little sad that George's style of constantly editing his films held Johnny back from being able to put together cohesive masterpieces that the prequels (specifically AOTC and ROTS) deserved. There's a lot of detail in this score that simply couldn't be accomplished with SW.

Amazing. Personally, I think Williams has been hitting a new stride since A.I. His later stuff may not me as memorable as his 70's and 80's heyday but I think it's just as interesting and maybe even a bit more complex. His Crystal Skull score, however, is great reminder that no one can tell a story through music like Johnny. One week to go...

After listening to the soundtrack multiple times, Mutt's theme seems iconic enough to stand by itself. I can see some forethought on Johnny's part if George is really intent on expanding the franchise. Could anyone else see another TV series along the lines of Young Indy?

"The Depature" is one hell of a pleasing cue. It's the culmination of the Crystal Skull storyline with the ship lifting off as the temple disintegrates and Williams belts out one last grand statement of the Skull theme. It's really great. Williams is arguably the best at scoring scenes of spaceships (or, excuse me, inter-dimensional ships) lifting off.

I must say 'Spell of the Skull', the track accompanying the opening warehouse sequence is absolutely perfect. It starts out with old-school Ark motifs and transitions into Irina's theme, then hints at the Raiders March. Sends chills up my spine every time.
