As reported by the LA Daily News, Anthony Michael Hall has also joined the TDK. Based on his reaction, it seems like he’s playing a very recognizable character:

Quote:
"I signed a confidentiality agreement, and I can't say which part I'm playing because it affects the story," says Hall. "I can't give away the suspense — it's a $200 million surprise, and I don't want to be the guy to ruin it."

Hall adds that he is "in throughout the whole movie." Batman on Film.com has confirmed that his character is a villain.

Posters everywhere are going bugfuck trying to figure out the role. Guesses range from Edward Nigma, Roman Sionis, Jean-Paul Valley, and even the "real" Joker.

Did anyone notice on ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com that the picture of Harvey Dent is down and the background is all black? If you highlight the background it says HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH repeatedly with letters interspersed throughout. If you put the letters together it says "See you in December". And yeah, that Joker does look sick man. This movie is going to rule.

yeah they took it down. WB has released the official/ cleaned up version already.

its the second time i've heard about "See You In December". the first time was when the last casting side was released, on the script the beginning of each line of dialogue read S-E-E-Y-O-U-I-N-D-E-C-E-M-B-E-R

i thought it was a hoax. seems like it was a tool used by the marketing firm WB hired to promote TDK.

Never rub another mans rubarb. Next time say where you got the pic from.

AICN

Comparisson shot. Notice the color of the hair. More olive green.

"Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. So, we've seen the scarred Joker pic at the viral website a week or more back, now here's a couple production stills released along with the news that Chris Nolan is filming four of the big action sequences in THE DARK KNIGHT with the Imax 70mm cameras, including the introduction of the Joker."

That's badass news that they're filming a good chunk of this in IMAX. Here's a link to the USA TODAY article:

I'm getting more excited for this film. It looks like Ledger is going to be able to pull off the job as The Joker at least I hope so. I agree the looks for The Joker are awesome.

He means you have to credit the website that you got the pic from.

Anyway, I much preferred that creepy pic shown earlier. Not sure if I want the Joker to go too close to the Caesar Romero look, even if they play him more hardcore.

That’s odd. Maybe, it’s just the lighting.

To be fair, the Romero look is straight from the comics. Again, I think Nolan is attempting to emulate the original Joker design.

BTW, here’s a good interpretation of Ledger’s look from a fan-made trailer.

the new cowl?

and looks like the National Guard will be involved:

Image

and some additional spoilers from Batman on Film

[spoil]* Bruce lives as a downtown Gotham penthouse because Wayne Manor is being rebuilt.

* There's at least part of the film set in the Fall/Autumn and will involve this mass evacuation.

* There is a “Batcycle,” but there has not be 10 built as previously rumored.

* This “Batcycle” WILL NOT emerge from The Tumbler and CGI will not be used either.

* If you were holding out hope for a new Batmobile, sorry, it ain’t happening. “Too expensive,” says our guy.

* “I have some news about my friend who is part of the ‘Maroni Gang.’ Today at his fitting he tried on 3 different outfits. He will be filming for 4 days [and appear in] 3 different scenes.

The first outfit is a Addias running/jump suit (think Christopher in The Sopranos). He will be wearing this when the gang gets arrested. The second outfit is a suit for a court scene (think very Goodfellas). Both of these outfits will be accompanied with heavy bling-bling. The 3rd outfit will be a prison jumpsuit. It sounds like he will be working pretty closely to Eric Roberts’ character.

Also my friend found out that there is a scene that has extras called ‘Party-goers.’ Most likely my scene, but the crew at the fitting said its going to be a cool shot cause Batman will be crashing through a window or skylight. I only hope The Joker will be there!”[/spoil]

More importantly, here's the Joker's clown car taken from latino review

Image

"A few days ago somebody gave a set report that it was seen the crew was loading an old 20s/30s pick up truck that has been hastley painted purple (a messy paint job done by the joker to match his own make up), this has been rumored to be his "clown car" used in the movie."

Looks a little Robo-Cop-ish. Allthough, I don't know if I mind that, need to see more of it. It sure is a bit of a departure from what I was expecting to see, but I don't hate it quite yet.

I thought they were going with a more simplistic suit this time. Even fabric in parts. Not sure I like this more "armor" suit.

guys i have to tell you, the photo is a fake.

the guy who made the manip based it off an eye witness who saw the real truck but wasnt able to get pictures. as a joke (or revenge, depends on who you ask ;)) this was sent to Latino Review to see if they'll post it. most of us thought it wont make the headlines because LR is supposed to check with their sources and see that its not the real deal (hell its even the wrong model truck). but it got posted.

a joke that got a little out of hand :(.

I’ve got mixed feelings about the new suit. I keep trying to convince myself that it's derivative of the amour suit from The Dark Knight Returns. So far, it’s not working.

Well, if it was a representation of an eye-witness account, then this is something close to what it'll look like in the film! Meaning an old ass truck hand painted purple.

I think it goes along with Bruce Wayne's use of Wayne Tech's armory department from the first movie. He was using pieces of equipment meant for the army the first time around. This is just an extension of that. No big thing. It is just the suit. As long as the ears and bat symbol are there, who cares?

...the bike looks awkward, I can't tell whether he's squatting on it, or lying face down?...

Still, I didn't like the look of the tumbler when I first saw it, but in motion it looked awesome. I'm not gonna judge till I see it mooooove...

This is the first idea I have not liked in the Nolan Batman franchise. It seems like in every Batman film they have to add another damn vehicle. Maybe if this was just something that would separate from the Tumbler in case of emergency or something but not just another type of vehicle. I hope they know what they are doing.

As long as its introduction makes sense (like everything else in the last flick) then I'm okay and as long as it's not a HUGE part of the movie and/or doesn't involve batman pulling a wheely on it, or throwing Rachel Dawes on the back and riding away into the sunset, I'm not gonna be bothered.

but like I said, didn't like the tumbler in picture, loved it in motion.

I still kind of think it looks goofy for the film, but it's a pretty neat looking machine by itself. I'd rip all the pointy junk off the front. I like it. Reminds me a bit of the Dodge Tomahawk minus about 8000 cc's.

I get the impression the guns out the front might CG-Themselves from out the side of the wheel (which would look SWEET!) ...but I'm just speculating.

I love the "military" style of the Tumbler and the Bike...very industrial and practical, rathe than stylish and sleek and showy...

I'm warming up a bit more to it with those better shots..

a little slow on the TDK news front. they've switched from night shooting to day now.

here's some footage of the National Guard evacuating the Gotham citizens, the threat is believe to be related to Joker's plot:

Spawn Cast in The Dark Knight
Source: MTV
July 3, 2007

MTV has confirmed that Spawn star Michael Jai White has landed a role in the Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight, which is currently filming in Chicago (spoiler ahead!).

"...the role of "Gamble" has officially gone to Michael Jai White, the muscular martial artist/stuntman/actor best known for roles in such films as "Spawn" and "Exit Wounds." Thomas and Roven also cleared up fan confusion over who, exactly, the baddie is, explaining that Gamble is one of several mob bosses attempting to take over Gotham's streets now that Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson in the first 'Batman' flick) is out of the picture.

What I noticed was his neck. It doesn't look white like his face. I'm beginning to wonder if it has something to do with those masks from the bank robbery. Maybe it gets melted onto him in some accident and stains his face like that.

new set report from SHH:
We watched from one of the bridges crossing the Chicago River. As the Tumbler roared down the street, following two camera cars, it flies up behind a car with a ramp on the back, which is going about 15-20mph. The Tumbler hits the ramp car at about 80 miles an hour, explodes with a massive fireball out of it's back end, clears the entire ramp car, lands, and drives out of sight. The crew kept saying "We blew up the Batmobile." End of the Tumbler? One of the $5 million dollar IMAX camera's got wrecked in filming a scene! The Joker's semi was shot to shit. The front window was full of holes, and the driver laid dead over the wheel. This is where the cool stuff happens. Joker, who's in the trailer, hops out of the crawling truck, runs along the high road median, jumps in the passenger side, throws the dead driver's corpse onto the road and drives the truck himself. The Semi is not the final Jokermobile.

I don't think it's that. When they had the first big image of Joker, it looked like the corners of his lips had perhaps been sliced open most of the way back to the ear and healed up or wired back together.

Still, I'm curious on how to reconcile the two different styles of appearance for him. The first was the Crow style and then there was the traditional Caesar Romero style. Quite different looks, no?

This image could be from the scene where the Joker is viewed through the pov of someone who has been effected by the Scarecrow's fear toxin. Either that, or Heath is not in final make-up, hair, and costume in the video.

BTW, here's another pic that's popped-up:
