After a fucking 3 month hiatus we finally get LOST back on this week! What is yo people's opinion so far for the season? I would have to say that I am pleased with where the story is going and that in typical LOST fasion we are getting more questions than answers, but this is one of the only truly good shows out there that keep you guessing week in and week out. After listening to the "official" podcasts it sounds like we are really going to be getting answers on some major plot points, finally.

What do you all think?

My favorite show on TV. I love this season just as much as the others. Everyone who complains about the show going downhill are wrong. The problem is that it's hard for a show to carry on what the first season set up. You can't relive the crash and everything new about the island from the first season. The setup is always going to be great, but it has to go somewhere from there. People are just pissed about where they have gone. I'm not one of them.

As for Season 3.2, I can't wait. this has been the longest fucking hiatus of all time (not including the Sopranos). I love getting Lost for 18 straight episodes with no repeats.

^ I second that shit! My wife saw the promo and was like "yea but they didn't say they would be playing a new one every week, just no repeats" After I smacked her for such a notion, she saw the light of the situation. But yes it is going to be fucking awesome to have all those episodes in a row and no repeats!

Do you think that Kate and Sawyer will get away or what?

Hot Damn only 2 more days!!

Yeah, they'll make it back to the 815 group. But Jack will probably be with the others for awhile (based on the advertisements) locked up in the cage while the stewardess from 815 and others watch him like he is some damn dirty ape! I want to know what side Juliet is on and what will Penny Widmore do now that the island has been "seen" from the outside world?

I have to say I agree about Jack staying behind. I for one think Juliet is bad. Based on what she has said and done I think she is bad, very, very bad.

I think this episode is going to be the best one of the season because of the hiatus, don't know if I "love" the time change on Wednesday, but at least it will be back on! :chewbacca:

Definitely agree about the time change. I'm a pussy, but my bed time is 9 pm Central (I have kids and I get up at 5 am).

Damn that sucks, yea the time change sucks for me too, but my ass will be up watching :meatwad:

After watching the video podcast today, I have to say I'm not sure that Sawyer and Kate will get off the island right away. Juilet seems to be playing her hand here... only time will tell.

The video cast is up on iTunes. Should be a really good episode. Can't fuckin wait!!

Great episode.

A flashback on Juliet's life before the island.
A sinister recruitment.
One death on the island.

A few questions answered...and a nice start to this run.

Very nice ep. I still don't know what to think of Juliet now. I know back in the real world she seemed like a good person with emotional problems (all due to her sister or depression possibly?). But I still don't know what to think of her on the island. Did Ben really make a deal to let her go? Why would he do that after she wanted him dead? And what about Tom saying that they couldn't get a doctor for Ben in the real world after the sky turned purple? I still have to believe that everything the Others tell Jack are skewed versions of the truth or not really truth at all.

Oh and one more question: What the hell was up with the brainwashing room where they found Karl? WTF.

Great episode and a great way to start the "new" season.

I wonder if Ben did actually tell Juliet/Julie to let the Kate and Sawyer go. When he was talking to her she seemed to smile at something. I wonder if it was something along the lines of "they are falling right into our plan, wouldn't you say?" Or something like that. So we find out that Ethan was also off the island pre-crash and that one dude had something to do with how Julie's ex was killed. Really makes you wonder just how "powerful" this organization is.

And Juliet was not just a OBGYN, she knew her shit. I wonder if her recruitment was part of the Hanso foundation and the The Valenzetti Equation thing??

Wow. Everything I had read about last nights episode said to expect a different type of "flashback" and they weren't fucking kidding. Desmond, who is the new Eko in terms of interesting characters, flashbacks to just before the hatch imploded (exploded?). And what happens? He travels back in time. To when Penny was moving in with him. He thought he had a second chance to change everything until he meets the creepiest jewelry store owner this side of the Oracle. She immediately begins to tell him that he cannot change the past because the future will "right the course" later. If you save someone from dying, nature will try to kill the person again until it gets it right. Very Final Destination, only ten times better. And all of this leads to the best twist ending since we found Locke in a wheelchair.

Awesome episode and a great change of pace from what has happened in the first 7 Season three eps. And if ABC isn't shitting us, next week looks to be one of the key episodes of the season with some answers coming about the others. We'll see if they hold true to that. Lost fuckin' rocks.

Ok, now did Desmond travel back in time, or was it just a subconscious thing? Remember he said that lady was his conscious? So that really made me wonder if he did travel back in time or was just knocked unconscious. Either way nice twist at the end and next week should be really good.

Ok, last night was a pretty good episode all in all. That lady the Sheriff, wasn't she the same one from Desmond's flashback/time travel thing? And what was with the tattoo meaning? Jack was like that's what it says, but not what it means. ??

Also Bai Ling looked hot, and she has never done it for me before.

I'm really beginning to wonder if the Other's are not as bad as they seem. I keep thinking there is some big twist coming like in Fight Club when we really find out who Tyler Durden is and how that really just put a spin on the whole movie to where you needed to watch the whole thing again to really "get" it. What are your thoughts?

I believe the jewelry store owner and the Sheriff are played by different actresses so I don't believe they are the same but possibly Lindelof and Cuse played it this way to make us wonder. Not a bad episode although I believe the ABC marketing department is not helping the show by saying they will reveal 3 Big Answers when some of the answers aren't big at all, and some we don't even care about. Lost is a show about mysteries and ensemble drama. People shouldn't necessarily come into this show each week expecting everything to fit at the end of the episode or even the end of a season. That is what is so disturbing about the ratings drop over the last couple of seasons (although I don't put an ounce of faith in the Nielsen ratings, advertisers and networks do). People aren't happy with the fact that Lost has stuck to its formula of mystery upon mystery. They are looking for a different show.

Sorry hyper, I can't get into the Bai Ling thing. Asian women have never done it for me.

And I still believe the Others are bad people. I still think they are playing with Jack from all sides, including Juliet. I think Ben Linus knows exactly what Jack is thinking and what he'll do next. And I don't think they are good people either, except to each other. It is okay for them to take any means necessary (killing Steve on the beach, trying to hang Charlie, etc.) to outsiders but not each other.

Here's the promo for this weeks episode Enter 77. It's a Sayid episode so it should rock...hopefully.

New Episode tonight. TV Guide says:

Claire becomes suspicious of Charlie when he behaves strangely after she comes up with an idea that could get everybody rescued; tension mounts between Sayid and Locke as they continue their trek to rescue Jack. Christian Shephard: John Terry.

Here's some trivia for you, if you have seen 300. Xerxes, the Man-God King of the Persians is played by Rodrigo Santoro, better known to Lost fans as Paulo/Take a shit guy.

Is it just me or has Lost really stepped up in the last month. Although we have to deal with the sort of off episodes such as Paulo and Nikki ("Expose"). But then we also get "The Man from Tallahassee" (Locke) and "One of Us" (last night).

Last night's episode was truly one of the best two episodes this season and matches up with most any episode from the first season. To summarize, Jack, Kate, Sayid and Juliet make it back to the crash survivors and the main theme for present island time is whether Juliet can be trusted or not. And by the end of the episode we are made to believe she can't, after her conversation with Ben about infiltrating the survivors and seeing her "in a week". Although it seems that she is still working for the Others, maybe she can be turned in the end. And maybe Jack is playing dumb on purpose. Anyway, I have to say that Locke and Juliet's flashbacks are the best on the show for answering what we want to know about the Others and the Island. Wonderful episode.

^ I have to agree. I think the tempo, storyline and character development as well as answers to questions we've had have all been ramped up. Only a few episodes left before the season finale!

New episode tonight and Herc over at AICN gave it 5 stars!!!!

Also, a huge spoiler (if true, though I'm not sure) about tonight's final minutes from Spoilerfix

[spoil]04/24 - Site visitor Matt sent us information about what Naomi will tell the survivors about Flight 815: [highlight if you want to be that spoiled..."At the close of the episode our beloved cast aways will inform the parachute girl that they're survivors of Oceanic flight 815. The parachute girl will give them the unfortunate news that what they've just told her is impossible seeing as how the wreckage of that flight was found and recovered, and that there were no survivors. The episode promptly ends thereafter."] Source: SpoilerFix.com[/spoil]

Sorry to double post.

Variety is reporting that ABC has reached a deal with executive producers Damon Lindelof (also co-creator with J.J. Abrams) and Carlton Cuse for Lost to finish up the series in Spring 2010. ABC also says that each remaining season (Season 3 has 3 more episodes) will have 16 episodes per season and will begin in January for the remaing three seasons without interruption.

Not sure who else participates in this discussion beside Hypertext and myself so: Hyper, what do you think?

From what I've heard, the three seasons are tentative, without a certain amount of episodes per season. With that being said, a sixteen episode season just plain sucks. This season has only started to really amp up since ep 16! I don't like it, but I am glad that they have reached an agreement.

But man, this season has really taken off! I think this weeks episode with Ben's flashback should be one of the most questions answered episode of all three seasons. But in typical LOST fashion, we will probably get answers, but a lot more questions as well. Can't friggin wait!

Well, I believe that Lindelof and Cuse came to a compromise with ABC. ABC wants the show to last as long as it can and the producers want only two more seasons. What do they do? They split the seasons and create a third. So, the producers get the 48 episodes they want (2 seasons worth regularly) and ABC gets an extra season of marketing.

The good thing about 16 episodes a season is that we won't get the filler episodes (Jack's tattoos/Nikki and Paulo) and more great eps (Tallahassee/One of Us). I believe Lost will answer more questions beginning next year since they have a positive end date now.

It definitely was the “most questions answered” and “most questions posed” episode so far. I have no idea what'sgoing on anymore and I can’t imagine what the cliffhanger will be for the season finale. Good stuff.

Yea that part with Jacob may have been one of the "scariest" moments on lost. Great segment. Supposedly four more characters are going to die before seasons end.

That whole scene was creepy as shit. From the start of the viewer thinking that Ben really is crazy for talking to an imaginary friend to shit to the help me to shit flying around the room to seeing Jacob in a rocking chair. Nuckin Futs.

AICN seems to have some huge spoilers about the last 2 Lost episodes until 2008. They don't really say a whole lot about what it is right now other than little tidbits about the next 2 weeks. It seems that Herc and Moriarty know more than they are saying. I won't read the talkbacks over there but they seem to talk about what else they know. It appears to be huge with them saying [spoil]* Between now and 2008, fans may scratch holes in their heads wondering how this show is going to continue next season.

[/spoil]

This sounds like a great last 2 episodes of Season 3. I can't wait!

[spoil] JACK spends a lot of time trying to get someone on the phone. It ends up being JULIET. WALT saves LOCKE. They are "SORT OF" on the island next year. CHARLIE, TOM, and PRYCE die. [/spoil]

Absolutely. Only sad part is we have 9 fucking months to wait for the next season.

Two great lines last night:

1. After seeing only 2 explosions at the beach camp, Rose says "Jack if you try to make a 'Live Together, Die Alone' speech, I'm going to punch you in the face"

2. Sawyer asks Juliet why they made Kate and him work in the rock quarry earlier in the season. Juliets response: "a runway for the aliens"

FYI. The Lost: Missing Pieces epsidoes have started on the ABC website. Every Monday, there will be a total of 13 new two-to-three minute scenes which all tie in to season 4 somehow.

The below link has the vidoes & transcripts.
