The company I work for is about to be bought out for the second time in three years. The long standing rumor was that 0-day (unrelated to the comics weekly gangbang) was supposed to be March 1st. All of a sudden, everyone says it's tomorrow.

Except the people that are supposed to buy the place this time and I have allready attempted to work together with unproductive results. That's to say, when I quit that shitty job I sent out an e-mail on the company in-house operating system. It said basically "I quit, and heres why". It was a great idea at the time, and I didn't swear or curse or say anything threatening. I just pointed out a few embarassing inadequacies that got on my nerves and would never be adressed otherwise. But I'm certain it was enough to warrant a 99% probability of my not being included in the "new scheme of things". And I am thoroughly unappologetic about it, also. Fuck it, I meant it all. I burnt that bridge on purpose.

Of course, sending it to absolutely everyone in the company insured great coverage (400-500 at the time). I think I'll probably have to quit if they don't have the balls to fire me. So I might be standing on your street-corner pretending to be a blind homeless man pretty soon. Anyone know what unemployment pays these days?

so what was it that you formally did? and can't you just apply at another company in town that does the same thing?? I'd quit before I let them fire me. Are you sure of the firage or will it be called laid off? you can't draw unemployment if you were fired.

I believe you can get unemployment if you can prove it was actually worse off for you if you stayed rather than looking for a better paying job, or something to that degree.

What did I do professionaly, or what did I do that's going to get me launched? Professionaly, I sell things. I wear a tie. To make them want to get rid of me, if they indeed buy the company I work for now? I used to work for these dicks, and I quit. I sent out the e-mail literaly on my way out the door. And they remember it too, because I run into some of them once in a while. I'm not good with blind obedience, particularly if it doesn't pay worth a shit. I didn't try to get anyone else to come with me, I just said what they were all thinking. If someone else would have done it, I would have laughed about it more. And I laughed a lot as is.

I've actually allready got another job lined up, it's all just making Mrs. O nervous. Besides, as long as you aren't begging for it or desperately counting the last of it, change can be a good thing. I'm actually looking forward to doing something different. I doubt I'll get unemployment, even if I qualify, unless things get real tight. I doubt it would cover my drug habit anyways.

What commodity did you sell? I just quit my job selling electronic components, I ahted the cockknocker that owned the place, besides it interfered with school and my grades were starting to suffer. Glad you got another job lined up, If you want to use this job as a reference in the future you would be better off giving notice. If you don't care, stick around and cause trouble. I always wanted to quit like Kevin Spacey does in American Beauty.

So, today wasn't the day. This rumor has been going around for a few weeks, but it's still just that I guess. I'll keep you updated, I'm not going to sweat it at this point. That's not as easy as it used to be, though. Being old and married now, I guess it spooks me more than it would have back when I only had to worry about myself. And I'm designing and assemblageing prototype circuit boards of military, power plant, train and similiar power electronics technology. I have also heard rumors about company being sold to some cheap foreign country.. and that would make me unemployed for years because of my NDA.

Well, after months of rumors, the new people take over in 30 days. And that kind of screws me up because I have 47 days before I go on vacation for a week. I aint cancelling either. I paid good money to go see Mickey Mouse and god damnit, I could use a week off in Disney World. Plus I allready paid for it. So I wonder how long I'm going to have to wait after I get back to file bankruptcy, without it looking like a scam, hmmmm....

What about Universal Orlando?

We're staying at a Disney resort, so if I don't venture off thier property I won't have to rent a car all week. I'd really like to hit Universal however, because they have an assload more rollercoasters, so I might rent a car for a day anyways just to do that. Allthough if I don't find a new job by then, it might be a better idea to skip it and save the money.

I'm kind of glad about my job though. The Nazi motherfuckers nuetered our internet about 6 months ago and have been fucking with my commisions too, so fuck it. Change is good, unless you're begging for it on the sidewalk somewhere.
