Wondering if there's any 24 fans here. Keifer is nominated for best actor in tonight's Emmy's, so are others. 24 is up for best drama.

Hopefully, they'll win.

You should my fiend, it is the best show on TV. Period. Start with season 1 and then go through the rest. You should be able to rent seasons 1 through 4 at your local video store. Season 5 is due out soon.

Season 6 hits the TV in Jan.

You have time to catch up. :)

No, I tried to start watching at the beginning of Season 3, but couldn't get past a couple of episodes. I just don't have time anymore anyway. I only watch a couple of shows (Lost, Scrubs) religiously and then catch a couple of more (Grey's Anatomy, The Shield) on DVD sets. I'm trying to get fit so I spend alot of my time after work walking or spending time with my 19 month old.

I rank the seasons as follows;

5th
2nd
1st
4th
3rd

Last season was unbeatable. They'll be hard pressed to top it in season 6. I'm sure they'll do it though. ;)

Great start to the season. Like how Jack is going through some internal conflict. Chinese hurt him pretty bad, though. Hopefully, Wayne does as good of a job as president as his brother.
Can't wait for tommorrow night.

I like 24 a lot, but -- this season especially -- it's being written as though it's a standard hour long drama and then edits are made to bring about the whole "real-time" business. Real people simply can't adjust to developments that happen as quickly as they do in this show. The decision that Jack had to make in Hour 4 would take any real human being at least an hour or two to get to the point where they can even think straight, and yet (having already seen the first act of Hour 5 I know this to be true) Jack gets over it in about 15 minutes -- which is only about a third of the time it took him to get over 2 years of captivity and torture.

Like I said, I like it -- but the drop the real time crap and give us a much more believable program. Either that, or give us one hour-long installment in the middle where Jack just sits on the bowl and says "holy fuck!" to himself over and over.

Yeah, I was surprised that Jack shot Curtis. Too bad. I thought he was gonna be the new Tony. Also surprised that the bomb went off. Next week will be interesting. Can`t wait! ;)

Yeah, last night was stunning to say the least. Hopefully the guy replacing Curtis will be more in his mold and not of that asshat Chase, who really is the only 24 character I haven't liked. The lamest character, Kim, gets a pass for obvious reasons.

Streen, going back to your post on season 5, I agree, it set the bar very high, although I'd rank them: 4, 5, 3, 2, 1. They appear to be getting better as they go, which is a very good sign considering the TV market these days.

I don't think Curtis is dead though. He shot him kindof in the right shoulder it looked like, right above the lung. I bet he makes a reappearance late in the series to either save the day or try and kill Bauer! Best show on tv. PERIOD bitches

I felt like Jack shooting Curtis and his reaction afterwards (barfing then the look on his face) was even more powerful than the bomb going off itself. Great stuff.

BTW my season rankings are:

5
2
4
3
1

well shit, they missed an opportunity there with Curtis going all mental revenge, wounded soilder, partner vs partner. With Bauer protecting a known terrorist and Curtis, a war hero, hunting them both down. Could've been epic.

Well, well. Turns out Jack`s bro was behind the Logan ordeal last season. I was surprised. Looks like he may be behind things again. Hope Jack kills him, bro or no bro. We`ll have to see how things turn out with his dad.

I've haven't been reading this thread because I've been an episode behind for a week now, but I'm all caught up now bitches!!

Great season, with some great twists. Who'd of thought that the man behind it all last season would be Jack's brother and that Jack had nailed his wife numerous times! :heavymetal: I agree with PerfectCr about the look on Jack's face being more powerful than the bomb going off. And it's not like they blew up LA. Yea LA is huge, but Valencia is more of a suburb of LA than downtown would be.

What's up with the other nukes? Think they're going to "drop the bomb" all over LA or what? Either way this is one of the greatest shows on TV right now.

Also is it just me or is Chloe looking hot this season?

24 comes up empty at this year`s SAG awards, losing to Grey`s Anatomy and Kiefer losing to Hugh Laurie. What a gyp!

Grey's Anatomy is a good show, funny with a little bit of drama, but a better drama than 24? Kramer please!

Hats off to Laurie though, that guy makes the show. And to hear him speak when he's not in character, crazy.

Jack better not hear about this or he may just go and kill both casts just for thinking they are better than him. He's killed for a lot less.

I don't trust any awards show to give anything to the best shows. Shit, Lost wasn't up for best cast and I'd say you would have trouble finding a better cast from top to bottom on television. I don't put anything into this shit.

If anyone has missed 24, you can watch the episodes here:

http://tv.peekvid.com/s3048/

I'm currently watching them now. They're streaming video similar to you tube and the quality isn't DVD or perfect but it's watchable. Also the sources seem to be PAL since the dialogue, music and sfx are sped up a bit but as I said it's still watchable. I'm only on episode 6 of Season 1 since I only have watched a few episodes here and there from the previous seasons so I'm not really caught up on everything. That is why I'm sort of out of the loop while watching Season 6.

I felt like the acting was really off last episode, could have just been me, but it seemed forced unlike other episodes. Great revelation about Jack's dad. I wonder if Jack will have to end up torturing him too??

Well I managed to snag the first 5 seasons of this on ebay for a pretty good price. It'll be a few weeks before I can send off payment for them (which the seller is cool with) but once I do get them I'll be watching everything to get caught up on things.

Netflix is my friend. I remember trying to watch the last two discs before season 5 started. good times...

The only thing that sucks is that when you actually start to watch the show, you only get one a week then you have to wait another 7 days!

Anyone else pumped to see Grizzly Adams/Charlie Logan back last night?

I think this show is gonna go off the charts here in the next few weeks, I'll admit some points in these first episodes were a little slower than I expected.

I just realized two nights ago the guy who plays Hamri Al-Assad is Alexander Siddig who also played Dr. Bashir on DS9. I thought I reconized the face and the voice....couldn't quite place him at first and had to look up the info.

Good ep. We'll have to see why Phillip didn't kill Jack. As for W. Palmer, Al-Assad warned him and sure enough there's people out to kill him. Hopfefully he can avoid that altogether. I wonder if Aaron will make an apperance. Can't wait for next week! ;)

I had read the possibility that the gal who played Audrey Raines might make in appearence this season in a couple of episodes. I wonder what her reaction will be once she learns that Jack is back from being held by the Chinese since Jack told Bill Buchanan not to tell her or his daughter Kim that he was back. I also wonder too if Kim will make an appearence this season.

By the way as far as Monday's episode goes, I agree it was a good episode. I still think that Tom Lennox is a dick but it was nice to see that he actually cared enough for Wayne Palmer's life and tried to warn someone but of course got the piss knocked out of him by that one guy he was conspiring with. It will definitely be intresting to see if they discover the bomb and or if Assad will be blamed for it.

Poor Assad, I thought he'd make it. Looks like Palmer is alive but out of commission. This will prove interesting. As for Jack, I think he's gonna get the information he needs, but at what price? He may end up in a Russian prison this time!

Well, looks like Palmer is alive. Hopefully he'll be able to get back into the swing of things before the season is over. As for Jack, he'll be ok, I'm glad the VP will authorise an assault on the consulate. Next week will be good!

I just started watching 24 this season and have been hooked since the first episode. Actually my roomate had never watched it, caught it, and insisted i watch it on tivo. From what I have heard alot of people think this season is the worst of the bunch. If that is the case I can't wait to rent them all.

The only thing I get so sick of is the bickering going on between Chloe and Morris. But I am sure there is 4 seasons building up to all this arguing. Good show. Great thread.

Looks like Mike Doyle is no joke. Hopefully, he and Jack will get along. Also, there is an apparaent leak in CTU. Although overplayed, it will be interesting to see who the culprit is. Lastly, looks like the VP is gonna launch nukes. Maybe Palmer will come to in time to stop that, or CTU will interfere. Can't wait for Monday.

Yea, when I saw Mike D, I was like that's the dude from silver spoons!!

Really good episode, Jack is the man. As far as this being the worst season, I would have to disagree. I believe season one or two (can't remember which) was my least favorite. But they are all good imo.

As far as bad seasons go... 24 is doing the exact opposite of Star Trek. The odd number seasons are actually the best ones while the even number are kind of meh. For Star Trek it was generally the even numbered seasons that did great, at least according to others. Then again I love all of Star Trek so my opinion is baised in that area.

Gateworld.net reported on the 12th of this month that Micheal Shanks (who plays Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG-1) will be doing a reoccuring role on 24 this season. The specifics of who his character will be and what episodes he will be in is not know right now.

Episode 18 spoilers:
[spoil]
So you found out there was some accident, and the goverment was led to believe that Audrey died in it. But now you find out that Audrey didn't give up on jack in the past 2 years, she went to china herself and got captured.

Cheng wants Jack to get the detonation chip from one of the 2 nukes which would allow the Chinese to "decrypt certain codes the Russians have successfully kept us from breaking". Jack realizes the russians would know the U.S. gave them it and would start a war with them.

Jack: Let me talk to Audrey
Cheng: You've already spoken to her
Jack: I want to know that she's all right
Cheng: Her well-being is entirely up to you, Mr Bauer. If you tell anyone that she is alive, or of our conversation, we will kill her.
Jack: You staged her car accident. Led my government to believe she was dead.
Cheng: Everyone had given up on you, Mr Bauer. Everyone, except Ms. Raines. Over the objections of your government, her family, and her friends, she came to china, just to find you. Since you proved to be a distinctly uncooperative prisoner, we felt she was an asset we might be able to exploit one day. That day is here.
Jack: What do you want
Cheng: At this moment, ctu is securing the tactical nuclear eapons you've just captured
Jack: Your government already has nuclear weapons, more advanced than these
Cheng: We are not interested in the weapons, Mr. Bauer. What we want is a component from the triggering mechanism. The fb sub circuit board.
Jack: Why?
Cheng: It contains an algorithm, one that will enable us to decrypt certain codes the Russians have successfully kept us from breaking. My superiors have agreed to exchange Ms. Raines for the component.
Jack: The russians will know it came from us. It could start a war
Cheng: Whatever diplomatic crisis it might create will be contained easily enough.
Jack: The nuclear weapons are under military control. even if i want to, i cant get near them
Cheng: You'll find a way, Mr Bauer
Jack: All right, but only if you let me talk to Audrey. right now.
cheng: Very well....Speak to him
Audrey: Jack?
Jack: Audrey, are you all right, did they hurt you
Audrey: No i'm fine. Jack i'm so sorry
jack: Its going to be okay
Audrey: i know they're using me to force you to do something. but i'm begging you, don't let them.
jack: Audrey, i'm handling it
audrey: What do they want
jack: Its not important. all that matters is that you're alive. and that i'm hearing your voice again. just know that I'm going to get you back. and know that I love you.
audrey: I love you, too, Jack.
cheng: You have one hour to call me on this number when You're ready to make the exchange, Mr Bauer. Ms Raines and I will both be waiting
jack: Cheng, listen to me

click

Cheng: You've been on a long and difficult journey, Ms. Rains. Hopefully your persistence will be rewarded soon.

Anyway, with the help of Chloe, Jack does his thing again and takes out 3 CTU agents gaurding the 2 nukes. meanwhile Morris finds out whats happening, forcing Chloe to tell Bill whats happening too. Doyle and CTU agents capture Jack. Jack calls Wayne and tells him that the chip will never get to the Chinese. Wayne eventually gives Jack permission to be freed and have help get Audrey back.

Only Wayne and Jack know, that the way Jack is ensuring the safety of the chip is for Jack to blow himself up with c4; blowing up the Chinese and the chip after Audrey is safe.

Jack puts some c4 on him, and Doyle is driving him off.

So then Wayne gives a press conference about securing the nukes, but in the weak state that he is, he collapses again and is unconscious. Noah Daniels becomes president once again, and orders Jacks arrest not knowing what Wayne knows.

Bill calls Doyle and tells him to arrest Jack. But Jack, being Jack Bauer and all, knows something is up will the call, and secures Doyle and tells him "This morning I shot and killed an agent I worked with for years, a friend, to save the life of a terrorist. If you think i won't do the same for Audrey, you're wrong." then leaves on his own again.[/spoil]

24 finale spoilers taken from 24 community spoilers

[spoil]Audrey is damaged goods and her and Jack are not meant to be.

Marilyn is back and we’re sort of led to believe that Marilyn and Jack have a shot together but this is not Jack’s fate. There’s also some question as to Josh’s real father and Jack can’t pull out a calculator to show that it’s not possible for him to be the father so he starts to get the vague idea that he might be the father. But...

Phillip is Josh’s real father and Phillip raped Marilyn 15 or so years ago.

Phillip and Vice President Daniels make a deal. Phillip will give up the nuclear component device in exchange for his son Josh.

The deal occurs but Phillip screws CTU and gives them a useless clone component.

Phillip is in cahoots with Cheng and the Chinese government. Cheng makes arrangements for a super stealth submarine to pick up Phillip, Josh and himself out at sea.

So Phillip, Josh and Cheng head out to an oil rig in the pacific.

There is a major conflict going on between Russia and China and the Russians are just about to take offensive action in Central Asia. We’re taking a potential World War III unless this component can be secured or destroyed.

Jack, Doyle and Buchannan are onto Phillip. Jack and Doyle head out to the oil rig and it’s a insanely intense race against the clock as Jack must catch Phillip before the Chinese submarine picks up Phillip, Josh and Cheng.

American fighter jets are dispatched to the oil rig and the situation becomes more intense as these jets have orders to bomb the hell out of the rig, which means an imminent death of Josh and the others. Jack can’t let this happen to Marilyn.

Jack makes it out to the rig. Josh turns on Phillip. Jack saves the day. They get the hell out of there. F-16’s still bomb the oil rig.

Jack makes it back to land.

The writers are still writing the final act from what I hear and they will spend the final week of writing creating a cliffhanger. I’m hearing that it’s supposed to be out of the box and will make long time fans scream and go what the hell?!
They don’t have it written yet and won’t for a few more weeks. [/spoil]

Final line of Season 6:
[spoil]Person TBD: Get in, Jack. There's a lot I have to tell you.

Jack, still struggling to get past the shock of who he's seeing, climbs in the passenger side as Person TBD gets behind the wheel. As the car peels out, we... FADE OUT [/spoil]
