Megatron gets killed by some kind named Sam when Sam pushes some "cube" into his chest. Starscream transforms and leaves the planet, as the last surviving Decepticon.

The script was leaked en masse since last Saturday. Most of the big Transformer's boards refused post or share the script because of the heat by Don Murphy & Co. Yes it was a real bitch getting the script.

Fortunately, one of the transformer boards scriptholders happened to know of "MF" and forked over a copy.

This thread needs more reviews, views, and comments.

• Decepticons appear to talk in a alien language.
• A human, "Sam" kills Megatron.

Note: I may have hidden more then I had to in spoiler tags but I would rather people be annoyed having to keep clicking the button then people being annoying because I said something aloud they didn’t want to read.

Thanks DP. I read the script last night. Now I had a deprived childhood and know nothing of Transformers. I knew there were autobots, decepticons, they didn't like each other, and one of them was called Optimus Prime. So besides that I had no idea what was adapted from the old show and what was new for the movie.

That said, I had mixed feelings about the script. There were a few funny parts and knowing Michael Bay there will be some pretty sweet action scenes, but there is way too much cheesy dialog for my taste. This is something I’m hoping will be remedied by either some improvising on the actor’s part or re-writing.

[spoil]
“Glen, stop being a hapless techno-weenie, I’m desperate” (I haven’t heard the word techno-weenie since Hackers)

“Why don’t you come after me you anorexic metal freak!?”[/spoil]

These are just a few that come to mind. However one doesn’t see a Michael Bay movie for the dialog or deep plot. I’m still on the fence on whether or not I would see this is the theaters. Also remember, this is coming from someone who isn’t really a transformers fan and knows very little about it, but: Isn’t the Transformers more about the Autobots vs. the Decepticons and less about the people stuck in the middle of their conflict?

Also: Is Dane Cook going to play Glen? I noticed no one is listed on IMDB as Glen and he’s up there without a character. I figure if anyone up there seems able to pull off Glens dialog without seeming cheesy it would be him. (I’m referring to the interrogation room specifically.)

My final thoughts: It has a lot of potential and its now within the director’s hands, I can see that script turning into a very cheesy and predictable movie, or a very fun and exciting one depending on what Bay does with it.

It's a Hollywood flick, what do you expect? You think some movie exec is going to greenlight a movie about robots fighting robots? No way. There's gotta be the human element in there to offer that "emotional anchor, the kind that pulls at the heart strings" that a robot vs. robot flick can't offer. At least in the hands of Michael Bay.

So basically you're going to get a bastardized Transformers movie that will hopefully stay somewhat true to its mechanical roots.

Someone need to finally bust out with the Robotech movie.

Ok, I finished it. There are a few changes. Bumblebee isn't the new 07' Camaro in this, he's a 75'. Also Soundwave is still in this, and he's been confirmed changed.

No, the Decepticons and Autobots speak normally usually, but in a few scenes they both speak to each other in some kind of sonic wave language. But Bumblebee speaks all the time through his speakers through radio satations he picks up! :whateva:

Things noticed:
[spoil]
[align=left]Blackout and Scorponok attack an airforce base in a great scene.

Bumblebee and Brawl fight, with Soundwave comming out of Brawl and attacks Sam. A girl cuts Soundwave's arm off with a power saw, then wacks his head off with a metal rebar!

The Autobots learn about humans through the internet.

"Spark" is their lifeforce, given by the energon cube, and Megatron apparently grows stronger with each "spark" he eats. :meatwad:

Megatron is Optimus' brother. :meatwad: :meatwad:

All modern technology is reversed engineered from a frozen Megatron the government has held for 100 years. :meatwad: :meatwad: :meatwad:
Quote:
So basically...every time I microwave a burrito at the Gas N' Sip, it's because of Megatron?

The Hoover Dam was built around the Energon cube to hide it.

Bumblebee get's the most screen time of the Transformers, get's his legs cut off.

Megatron kills Jazz, rips him in half. :heavymetal:

Sam kills Megatron by shoving the Energon cube into his chest, exploding his "spark"

It has it's moments. Typical Hollywood vanilla. The story follows a teenage Sam as he's the descendant of the guy who discovered a frozen Megatron. The man's glasses are shot with energy from Megatron in the beginning, carving a map of where the energon cube is. The glasses are passed down to Sam. Everyone is looking for the glasses to find the cube. The glasses are found but Sam and Bumblebee get taken to the Hoover Dam where the cube and Megatron are. Megatron awakens as the Decipticons and Autobots finally meet at the dam to fight for the cube. Big robot fights at the dam, Sam gets the cube, kills Megatron. [/align]

Okay, I'm a TF fan from before I can actually remember. I still have all the various ones I've collected.

And I have to say that I'm not unhappy with what is in that script (which we know is an early draft since some names look to have changed back to their original sources, some have changed to reflect different TFs being used). There does seem to be a few cheesy lines, but I'm sure most would be polished up in either future drafts or during shooting anyway.

[spoil][align=left]So, some people seem to have issue with the less screen time that the TFs actually have compared to the human element. I can understand why it was done in this fashion, just the same as why say X-Men was mostly a Wolverine/Rogue movie, you need to provide a relatable POV into an integrated group, and Sam/Spike provides that. Also in trying to establish some more realism to the movie you wouldn't expect the TFs to be talking English until they have to, and most people aren't going to want to have to read subtitled machine talk until a decent point in the movie for them to speak English is reached. That said, re-read the script again and you'll notice that most of the screen-time for the TFs is more action rather than exposition/dialogue based, and thus will be smaller on page than the human-human interaction elements which are in full dialogue.

Add to that the fact that a few of those involved in the movie have said that the time is actually around 50-50 TF/human it's a non-issue.

I like the incorporation of the Beast Wars explanation for Sparks and making that the focus of the movie rather than it being energon based since it is a bit less relatable and relevant to adult audiences. The relative toughness of the TFs in comparison to Earth-based weaponry and also the nano-regeneration are good touches.

The choices for which Autobots and Decepticons to use seems good enough, although it's been said that many of the Decepticons could change up until release based on a few factors (ie toys most likely). Soundwave has already been renamed so that they can use him properly later since they aren't going to do any of the matter-shifting that was in the cartoons.

As to Megatron being killed, remember people, we don't see him being disintergrated. For all we know a 50k ton warhead is enough to jumpstart a spark again, especially one that has fed on so many other sparks.[/align][/spoil]

Something else I've thought about is how violent they are to each other. This isn't the Transformers we grew up with. Which is obvious from the leaked pictures. They get their legs tore off, heads chopped off, impaled, torn in half. This is going to be traumatic for the little 6 year old that goes in wanting to see what he sees in the cartoons, punches and laser blasts that knock them down. Instead, he's getting shits and damns and his favorite toys being ripped to shreds as they scream for help. This'll be PG-13. Isn't anything sacred anymore??

Of course I may be wrong and the 6 year old might come out saying that Megatron is one bad motherfucker, I don't know.

You haven't seen any of the Beast Wars or Beast Machines series' have you? Happens all the time in them and they're rated PG here.

That said the movies aren't neccessarily aimed at the 6 year old crowd.

Sweet find!

[spoil][align=left]• A human, "Sam" kills Megatron.

I'm sorry, but this reminds me of the Jurassic Park Sequel when that girl uses a gymnastic move to kill a raptor. This transformer scene will probably = that Jurassic Park sequel scene x 10.

I still can't believe an entire script to a supposed summer blockbuster was leaked like that -- unreal ;)[/align][/spoil]

Anyone still have the script that leaked quite awhile ago? I'm interested in reading to see what changed - but all the links I find are dead.
