Well, with the latest ASM out and Peter Parker about to announce something big, anyone got any early guesses as to what it will be? Spider-Man unmasked?? Or announcing in front of a bunch of cops that he is now an outlaw? Neither one sounds easy to call, so what do you think?

And does anyone hate this event?? People seem to really like it so far, but is there anyone out there who thinks is this is all a bad idea storywise, and if so why?

Discussion and predictions are welcome, thanks.
I voted the "NWA" option.

The only problems I have with this event is the event's logo "Civil War" taking up half the book's cover. Spider-Man being Ironman's protege is weird also, as Spider-Man is the bigger star.

I voted "straigh- outta comp'tan"

I dig the idea, but I'm finding Iron Man very weak. He is just rolling over and taking the monster size dong in the ass. I understand Spidey's pov, but come'on.

SPIDER-MAN, HE DOES WHATEVER A SPIDER CAN...

WEALTH AND FAME ?

HE'S IGNORED

ACTION IS HIS REWARD

I think Spider-Man is going to turn coat on Tony, when I have no idea.

I'm anticipating the Runaways/Young Avenger Civil War book.

Spiderman more like "tool of The man" I guess. I had hoped Peter Parker would jump ship on this one, but no dice. I guess spiders have tiny balls and listen to thier wifes and aunties. Maybe after things get rolling he will see what a gutless idea this all is. And Cap/Young Avengers jailbreak was decent. I like this issue.

Good to see at least Zemo still appears to have a spine. Hope he keeps the captured villian army of his a secret until he can jam it up someones "Iron-sphincter"

"Project Lightning"!?!? WTF! On one hand, I'm glad to see his return. On the other hand I'm disappointed my prediction of how it would play out is fucked. But anything can happen, we shall see.

I know that I wouldn't want to reveal my identity if I was a super hero, unless I was so powerful that it really didn't matter.

I found this list of the rest of the upcoming issues at ign. So far we have been told that this event will see a hero die before the big ending. Now maybe I'm just reading too much into it and don't have enough info, but do you notice how Captain America has a new issue out every month until Nov (#24) and nothing else after that? Does that mean that the rest of his series isn't Civil War related (hard to believe considering his central role in it). Nov. also is the start of the Casualties of War series, An 'Iron Man/Captain America' issue, followed by several 'Moon Knight' and a 'Blade' issue. Moon Knight and Blade are allready fucking dead(ish) so I doubt either one of them bite it. ( ;) )

Is Marvel going to totally fuck this event up by killing off the "living embodiment of the American dream" (and one of the better stand alone series they have at this point)?
I hope not. But it could be a decent story. Killing off some minor unremarkable character wouldn't really do this event any justice. And considering the seemingly lefty political leanings of this drama and how it mirrors/criticizes real world constitutional rights issues, killing off Cap because of political short sightedness would be a powerful statement.

What do you people think is going to happen? I'm not sure really, just speculating here. It's all pretty interesting but........I can't wait for it to be over. Because then the Hulk will return to the Earth, and break it.

Can't say for sure. Killing off a character during a multi-book spaning series would be apporiate though. As for the Cap., they better have a good reason, and do his death justice, if they decide to off him.

[spoil]Ok, so they killed off Goliath (who??) and Psycho-Thor wasn't really Thor but a clone of Thor. A Cthlorne. Which is good because that means the actual Thor is bound to show up eventually, solo-book coming up and all. Spidey and Sue Richards switched sides (and Torch too? Kind of hard to tell but sure looked like it) and a thousand other details I didn't mention. All in all, despite the delays with the main title, this huge all encompasing potentially disastorous cross-over event doesn't seems to be sucking just yet.

The thing that I still anticipate most is seeing what's going to happen once the Hulk shows back up on Earth. And is he coming alone? With the crazy violent shit that's been thrown at him on Planet Sakaar, what would anyone on Earth really be able to do to stop him at this point? [/spoil]

What the fuck was that shit?? That is what they delivered a month in a half late?

Image

[spoil] I agree this could set up quite a bit but for such a hyped up series that was going to change the marvel universe, it ended up changing it into a universe with a completely wussed out cap. Tony stark and Reed are acting like they straight up won the war when starks head was planted in 6 inches of concrete just sitting there waiting for cap to end his gay little iron existence then somehow civilians are there to protect him? It makes no sense that everyone stands down because cap says so, so they just decided, oh what the hell this registration shit isn't that bad afterall ok hey I'm in. And what is the greatest loss the marvel universe has ever had? Aunt May? I understand Peters side of it, it is a huge loss for him. Or is it Cap's balls? Because thats the only thing I saw die in this last issue. And what are they going to do with frontline now? They reporters where on the verge of some huge revelation about Stark, what is it that he's a cock gobbler in a iron suite. I can't wait until fury comes for his ass.

I've seen this guy's parody of Civil War on a couple different sites and thought I'd bring its awesomeness here.
