Uncanny hasn't been doing it for me with the whole Jamie Braddock storyline. The previous story where Phoenix was being hunted by the Shi'ar was much better. Hopefully the book starts getting better soon.

Image

This is a great book. I really hope the revelation of who the destroyer of Breakworld is is worth the fifteen issues or so of build-up.[/align]

There were a lot of good books out this week. The Civil War stuff is pretty interesting, along with a few other gems. I don't have much to comment on though other than.....

[align=center]Image[/align]
[align=center]This issue on the whole was decent, but it was the end that gave me a load of chuckles, like a fat pervert at a nude candy store. Something tells me the "new arrival" will have problems filling out his registration forms.[/align]

Other than that....I'm still reading the rest.

Man, that fight was over quicker than a virgin on prom night. The storyarc as a whole was very good IMO, and I'm not usually a Superman fan.

Image
I really hope this goes somewhere. The last arc was terrible and I'm not a huge fan of the X-Men in space.

Image
Teen Titans is probably one of my favorite books right now. Good characters and good stories. I'm actually interested to see where Kid Devil's story goes and I didn't even know who he was before OYL.

Image
A self-contained story? I didn't know they still did that. It was blah.

Image
Another new beginning in an X-Men book and a new team. It has promise but they always do at the start. Bachalo's art isn't my favorite but it has its moments. Not many but it does have them.[/align]

So, who do you guys think Supernova is?

[spoil]I'm thinking it's the "real" Booster Gold - the one from IC that was really affected by Blue Beetle's death. The greedy BG in 52 so far is from an alternate timeline that got messed up when New Earth was merged.[/spoil]

The last two weeks of comics (the ones I read anyways) have been okay. Nothing really spectacular. One thing I did notice though........

[align=center]Image[/align]

Maybe it's just my warped mind, but doesn't Ms Marvel look like maybe with a different background, she could actually be having a really nice time afterall?

Another very good issue. I look forward to this book as much as I look forward to Astonishing X-Men.

Image

This, and Civil War: X-Men, are the only Civil War titles I'm reading. It's a good story so far and hopefully will have major ramifications on the Marvel U the way Identity Crisis did for DCU.[/align]

[spoil]Now that the Atlanteans and Thor have shown up who knows, things could get even more interesting. When the Hulk shows back up, the Marvel U will be seeing a lot of asskickings.[/spoil]

And Cap's solo book is great, as is Daredevil. Neither one has enough T&A, in my opinion, but still great.

Another great ish. Kyle and Yost have written interesting characters that you care about and the issue builds nicely to the confrontation between Nimrod and the kids. The highest praise I can give is that I read it immediately after the download finishes and am seriously considering going out and picking up the TPB of the older issues.

Should have seen the look on Jameson's face when Peter reavealed that he was Spider-Man. Haven't followed all the Civil War storyline, but that proved interesting.

Another fantastic issue as usual. I never thought I would enjoy a story revolving around Kitty Pryde but Whedon and Cassaday did just that this month.

Image
This issue 'felt' better than the last one from Morrison and Kubert. I like the way Kubert draws his Batman and thought the way he integrated the art of the museum into the scenes was very clever. I'm putting my bet on the fact that this is not really Bruce's son but possibly a clone?

Image
This week was pretty blah with the entire story in Khandaq. I'm just waiting for Black Adam to just go off and start slaughtering people again and what the reaction from Isis will be.

The Last few weeks of comics have been just "okay" to me. I mainly only read the Marvel stuff except for "Y", and the delays on CW#4 (and finally finding out who the person that gets killed is, and Ultimates II #12+wtf) has left me jonesing. Next week is looking good, though.

Another cliffhanger ending caps off another fantastic issue of New X-Men. This has been the best monthly X-book month to month. Cool stories, believable characters, and nice manga-style art make it a must read.

Image
I'm a huge fan of Star Wars but have not been able to get into Rebellion. This is the title to read. It is far removed (time-wise) from the movies and is therefore able to do more things without having to conform to any sort of continuity. Cool looking characters and a good story.

Holy shit! From the fight to the death of a hero to the surprising help given to Cap's team to Tony's new 'recruits' this issue rocked! I can't decide if it was worth the wait because it was so awesome or if I should be pissed that it was delayed because it was so awesome. Either way it was awesome.

Image
The next issue will be a helluva knock-down drag out fight as all forces are converging on the mansion. Another solid issue from Whedon/Cassaday!

It looks like Spidey is finally seeing the light. I'd been hoping he'd stand up and quit being Stark's little bitch.

I usually don't follow a lot of comics outside of the Star Wars lines, but I must say Civil War has me hooked.

[spoil]Yeah, what the fuck. You'd think they would pay closer attention to the Richards/Storm family breakup. Maybe that's what the big delay of Civil War #4 was all about. I guess they could always say she snuck back in and left the letter (CW#4) prior to the events of this F4 issue. Seems a bit sloppy, but doesn't quite ruin any of it for me yet. [/spoil]

I read the reviews over at IGN once in a while, and the guy over there consistantly bitches about this series because "all the Hulk ever does/all we ever see him do is smash stuff blah blah blah". I wonder if that's a problem for the reviewer, why in the hell is he even reading the Hulk anyway? What is it supposed to be about, him utilizing the effects of being green and tall to help sell frozen vegetables? Leading a "chloroplast coalition" to stamp out anti-green sentiment by uniting with other famously green individuals like Kermit the Frog, Oscar the Grouch, Ralph Nader, and a bunch of people who showed up with envy? ( :XD: ) WTF?

That said, I still enjoy this book. And this issue he actually does other stuff, along with the smashing.
[spoil]And this one also gives some possible insight as to how the Hulk gets back to Earth. If the Shadowpeople's stone-ship is what brings Bruce Banner home, it looks big enough for him to bring all his new friends. If he keeps his current mindset and doesn't go all bonkers, the World War Hulk event next year sounds like it's going to be awesome.[/spoil]

And speaking of the Hulk, wtf! I didn't realize the Ultimate Hulk Vs. Wolverine thing was finished.

http://comics.ign.com/articles/748/748552p1.html

The writer/Lost producer guy just decided not to finish or some such shit? That sucks, I was hoping maybe it was just some kind of delay. Seems unfinished. Oh well.

The other day I was actually reading the Ultimate Hulk versus Ultimate Wolverine wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_Wolverine_Vs._Hulk)and it stated that UHvUW #03 was indefinitely cancelled until the entire run was finished which made me :( tbh.

Ultimate Hulk is my favorite incarnation of Hulk. At Toys R Us I managed to find a 12" Marvel Legends Icons Grey Hulk someone had hidden and snapped it up as it resembeled Ultimate Hulk. Even snapped up a 12" Marvel Legends Icons Wolverine (sans hood variant) to go along with it. At $14.99 to $19.99 the 12" Marvel Legends Icons are a bargain for the amount of action figga one gets.

Image

Rebellion #05 is finally released courtesy of Darth Scanner. Interestingly this issue's filename is called Star Wars Rebellioin 05 (Empire 45) 2007.

Also let the record show that the following books were "up" last Wednesday... the same day they were released.

And Ultimate Hulk as a rational Hulk seems like too good a concept to just forget about. He did show back up and help in Ultimates #11 and #12 though, seemingly intelligent. I hope someone at Marvel decides to do an Ultimate Hulk and Ultimate Hawkeye team-up someday. It would be difficult for that to not totally kick ass.
Image

And I agree, the Marvel Legends Icon figures are doap. Hopefully after the hollidays, I can actually use some of my money on myself and score them. Captain America and Iron Man look fucking tough also. (don't know if they're out yet, but I've seen pics of em)

Okay, I didn't even hear about this until I saw it above but I gotta ask...

What the hell is up with Darkman vs. Army of Darkness? And not only the fact that it is a weird idea for a comic book, but they have Darkman fighting Ash, instead of the ARMY OF DARKNESS. WTF. And are we down to taking Sam Raimi movies and pitting them against each other? Because I for one would like to see Russell Crowe from The Quick and the Dead vs. Kevin Costner from For Love of the Game.

What Sam Raimi movies would you like to see fight?

They got me roped in to this Civil War, then they leave me jonesing with these delays. I can't wait to get #6 tommorrow, comic shop was delayed last and this week from Holidays. Waiting till Thursday makes the wait even worse. I don't see how they are going to wrap up Civil War in one more issue after this. There are so many questions left to answer about Stark and what exactly he is up to, I have a feeling this is going to be very anti climactic. You start to think there is more to the pro reg side then just Starks ideals I don't see it being finished that quickly, but if so it will be two very good last issues.

re: Civil War #06

[spoil]The way Civil War 6 ended leaves alot to happen in 7, I thought it would go further in the story. I guess all of the side issues will wrap up all of the story that the main issue doesn't. How long after 7 is released are the side issues going to continue to be released?[/spoil]

Is it just me, or did half the Marvel titles this week all have some kind of hero/villian chit-chat that seemed like total superfriendedness hand holding?

Reed Richards consults the Mad Thinker (huh?). Black Cat uses Rhino as her own personal Anne Landers (Ew, what?). Deadpool has an exhibition-match/infomercial gaining the respect of Taskmaster (wtf?). Don't get me wrong, they were a decent read in between better things, but I found it all odd when I realized it was happening.

X-Men First Class #5, Spiderman Reign #2, Ultimate Spiderman #104, and Y #53 were the only other books I read this week and they were pretty good also. Y has breastses in it.

The whole Captain Marvel thing was retarded, not to mention that half the comic was a pointless Sentry story. The book just felt like it was thrown together at the last minute.

This Civil War thing has really dragged due to all the delays. At least it will be all over soon.
