There's proof of Hayden as a spirit in ROTJ? Anything's possible, but color me highly skeptical.

I don't think there would really be a continuity rip if Shaw is unmasked but Hayden is the ghost. I don't really care about the dying vs. living as Vader, either. I can buy that as a force ghost he comes back as the last form he was a Jedi. Granted, one could argue that he was good when he tossed Palps, but maybe there's a time limit or something. ;)

I've not seen anywhere that there is proof this is happening, but I think there were some legitimate insiders that had said this. I know I saw a post on CT forum at TFN. Also, supposedly, this question keeps getting asked in the ask Pabs thread and is "looked over". Whether that means anything or not, who knows?

Well, I don't personally have anything to back up Hayden being the spirit, but I have heard that there are legit DVD screenshots out there that depict it. I believe it enough to throw money down on it. This is a Lucasfilm, after all and he has been known to throw in stranger stuff.

Speaking of strange, someone I know at Lucasfilm passed along this screencap from the new OT DVDs. They said if I post this anywhere they'll get fired.

It shows the new Jabba in ANH. He looks a little familiar.

I wouldn't read too much into what questions Pablo doesn't answer. He must get hundreds if not thousands of questions. Sometimes I wonder about the questions he does answer, though, like anything with Dexter Jettster. I guess he likes to pick questions so stupid that they make him laugh.

Edit: Benovite - A post on a SW board that's actually funny? Is that allowed??

Rhonderoo's a chick? Huh. Lemme guess, your name is Rhonda? ;)

I had a weird day, folks. In Hollywood I saw a guy right in front of me on a motorcycle run a red light, slam into the front of a guy making a left turn, his bike shatters on impact(some kind of quasi-dirt bike), he does a flip into the air, and I'm like SHIT I need a cigarette fast!

Next thing I'm at a bar and nice woman that claimed to be from Hong Kong was chatting me up. I told her my birthday just passed, what did she get me? She said order any drink I want. Cool, I'll have the 20 year old port please. So I did.

After a while I was leaving, a group of people nervously exit a building smoking cigarettes. One chick is eyeing me. Hi there, what's going on? "Oh we just saw the video where they cut this guys head off." LOL no shit I just saw that recently too.

end of story

I've noticed the chick population has disappeared over the past few weeks. :|

Maybe I need to make a Hugh Jackman eye candy avatar or something. Yours is nice. At least she eats. ;)

Yep, my screename (that I use pretty much everywhere) kind of gives my name away.

And what's sad is that I'm a thirty-something year old woman who gets called that in RL. :whateva:

Tony, thanks! :)

Hi folks. New to this one. I just wanted to input on the ROTJ new image. I did look at the picture of Hayden in ROTJ shot and when it is blown up, the background indeed is different behind him. To his right there appears to be cave walls rather than the forest behind Yoda and Alex. I doubt that ILM would do that kind of work. I have not quite decided if changing the ending would be in my liking. GL has said he wants to release those movies in a 'modernized' format now that he has the technology he wish he had back then.

Love that picture Rhonderoo. You posted it elsewhere as I recall.

I could be wrong but when he said that he was working on a non-Star Wars site that will continue until September I'm pretty sure he's referring to the THX-1138 site, since that DVD comes out in Sept.

Yes, I think so, based on how he answered a question at the OS forum (in the regular forum). He was asked why there hadn't been any updates in the Q&A thread:

"We've had our distractions -- I've been in THX 1138 land and lovin' since, for more enjoyment and greater efficiency, consumption has been standardized."

Are the scenes from the movies that we see in the trailer directly taken from the DVDs that we will get in September, or are the movies still in the remastering or revisioning progress?

They're from the DVD masters.

That was my question... and I don't like the answer (lightsaber fx in Ep4) :(

I think I gave up on trying to figure it out. I mean at 3:35 in the DVD trailer Vader's saber in ANH looks like crap compared to the very next shot of him with his saber in ESB. If that's how Vader's saber still looks in ANH come September then it sucks. They should have fixed it.

When Pabs says we will see Vader on Coruscant, I guess that means the "lab" where he is created by Palps is on Coruscant.

Great update by Pablo. Out of all the stuff he revealed I'm most excited that there will be 20 total web-docs. If they do them once a month we'll be getting them through July of next year. They may give us another month where we get two-in-one and have them run through June. Either way, I'm glad that we're getting so many of them this time out.

IMPORTANT NOTE!

Darth Duster et all, there's been an update to Pab's answer about the OT DVD trailer question. He edited his post yesterday and changed his response. The question asked by DD:

Are the scenes from the movies that we see in the trailer directly taken from the DVDs that we will get in September, or are the movies still in the remastering or revisioning progress?

Original response from Pabs on 6/10:

"They're from the DVD masters."

Newly edited response dated 6/11:

"Correction: Some are, some aren't. Sorry for any confusion."

So apparently Pabs has his head up his ass or something and there's still hope that the lightsaber effects in ANH will be updated.

The lightsaber effects really aren't that big of a deal. I'm not one of those people who cries on any change (I love the SEs and am happy that they're the versions coming to DVD), but I really don't think that it's Item One on the OT To Do Checklist.

If they get fixed, woohoo! If not, well, I don't really expect them to be, so I won't worry about it.

I think you're all trippin'. The saber colors for Vader and Ben vary wildly in ANH as it is. It'd be about impossible to tell if it's cleaned up or not at this point. Once scene Vader's blade is bright & red, the next it's washed out pink or white. Watch the OE version sometime - it's truth.

Well if they re-edit the cuts they can certainly change those LS effects as well. I certainly wouldn't appreciate a half-assed DVD set.

This whole LS color change doesn't look like it's a huge pile of work for ILM.

Obi-Wan's lightsaber definitely needs to be fixed for the OT DVD, as well as Vader's lightsaber. I mean people might have gotten used to the sloppy lightsaber effects after so long because Lucas didn't bother to touch these scenes for the SE, but it's almost insulting to not address these issues now when certain scenes like Greedo shooting Han are revisited over and over again.

A lot of the lightsaber effects in ANH really suck compared to every other movie in the saga. Luke's white lightsaber blade, Vader's big pink stick, and the aforementioned issue of Obi-Wan's disappearing blade. There's no excuse for not correcting these things.

I think it's a neat idea. Having him in the background in a minor role. This give some feel of connection which is so much missed in the PT. GL should have done such things with Episode 1 as well.

When asked if GG will be on coruscant in Ep3, Pablo said no, but he will be before Ep3. I think someone could be referring to the kidnapping of Palpatine in Clone Wars season 3, leading right up to the opening crawl! SWEET!!!

My condolences to all (self included) who subscribed to the Anakin erased the files theory...Ah well...

I do think this was a good update in terms of dispelling rumors so people can get on and talk about other things...but it sure doesn't give us a lot of new stuff...

Particulary that dooku knows palpy's identity (in terms of dispelling rumors...)

Everything else was kind of eh...unless I missed something?

Yeah, Pablo was pretty talkative today. He confirmed/denied a lot of things I never thought he'd touch before the movie came out, including the Kamino Files, Dooku's Knowledge of Sidious, GG not being on Coruscant, no one else disappearing (which we knew anyway, but further confirmation is good), etc.

Hope he doesn't get fired for it. :p

And RIP Who Done it and Why: The Search for Kamino. Ah well. It was a good run while it lasted. :)

Vanda, I was pretty sure it was you that did that, but didn't want to say and make a fool of myself...yeah, it was a good run. It still does make one wonder who did...because I thought if it was dooku than he definately didn't know who sid's real identity was...of course I could be wrong about that, but since that so rarely happens...

"It still does make one wonder who did..."

Well, Dooku is the only other possibility. There's only three bad guys, and no traitors. Sidious would never have gotten in there, and now Anakin's out.

What bugs me the most about it is that people that have been saying that it's obvious Dooku did it because his line about the Jedi Archives was the give-away. Yes, of course, that was the giveaway.

Oh yeah, and I'm also not too fond of the fact that Dooku doing it makes no sense, but whatever. I'll try not to think too hard about it.

[JCFanBoy]Maybe it's not a traitor...Maybe it was Mace Windu. He found out about the clone army on Kamino when he discovered Sifo-Dyas was murdered and then and then and then he found out about them and so he didn't want anyone else to find out about them so he just deleted it and figured the problem would go away [/JCFanboy]

Of course if that's what really happens i'm going to take full credit. ;)

In all seriousness, though...

let's talk McGuffins...

ANH: Death Star Plans
ESB: Han and leia?
ROTJ: The shield generator
TPM: The queen
AOTC: You got me on this one...Dooku is a stretch for a McGuffin...
ROTE (you know this to be true): Death Star creation?

Since Anakin didn't erase the files, the story doesn't point to Padme as McGuffin again and Palps is found out too early in the story we are running out of McGuffins

If I had a hyperspace account I'd probably try to get that question asked. It may be the link that ties this whole damn movie together (sorry Fatboy, I know it's really your idea, at least I think it is)...Is the Death Star the McGuffin?

Palps wants it, the jedi want to know what it is and destroy it, Padme and the "loyalists"(forgive me for calling them so obviously don't want it in existence, It's a ploy for palpatine to use on Anakin's continual search for more power (also it would go a long way towards "making people agree")...

It's not a perfect fit, but it's a possibility...

I always thought Dooku was the most logical chocie for who erased the file, and that he knew that Sid=Palp. He erases the files before he leaves the Jedi (already in league with Sidious), hires Jango Fett for the clone army that he and/or Sidious ordered, and, completely aware that the war is a ruse, builds the Separatist cause.

And as for his fate in Episode III, I think its just like Vader and Sidious in ROTJ. Both wanted to get rid of eachother, both plotting against one another. The situation is the same with Sidious and Tyranus here.

Cool updates - I have added the main points in the first post.

Anakin obviously confronts the council and Ki-Adi-Mundi's knighthood is brought up.
Also, Padme takes action after Obi-Wan reveals everything to her. Oooh...

Honeybuns shot down Yoda discovering anything about The Sith and The Force on Kashyyk. :what:

We had so much cool inside info to suggest otherwise. :(
Also judging from what Hidalgo said, it's Clonetroopers, not Stormtroopers in Episode III.

The "Kashyyyk revelation" thing never rang true to me.

So slide 35 must be Utapau. Interesting. I just figured it was a slightly off-the-wall concept piece for Kashyyyk. I must say, it definitely looks interesting.

You think that's who Pablo meant? And this revelation would become the "scene that explains it all"? I'm not convinced, although in true crappy style, I haven't got an alternative to argue. :)

EDIT: I've just learned that in a webcam shot with Padme, Lucas apparently pointed out this scene as the one that "explains it all". So, I'm still confused, but now probably even more wrong.
