Hyperspace Reveals the Secrets of Star Wars 2007

Fans are already primed to make next year a Star Wars year to remember. 2007 marks the 30th anniversary of the beloved saga, and already there are whispers of possible events that will commemorate that milestone. But what hasn't yet been talked about is the biggest entertainment event of the year: a major addition to the Star Wars mythos.

It begins now. As with the earliest glimpses of Episode III, Hyperspace will be the first place to get a look at the secrets 2007 holds. A new image series, rich with explosive and intriguing concept art, is your first look at next year's biggest Star Wars surprise

Not having a HS account, I have no idea what this might be. The only thing the front page shows is a concept art of stormtroopers (post-ROTS?) flying or floating in water.

I guess 2007 will be quite an anniversary since they've begun hyping it already. Mr. Green

Having things hyped up can be a bad thing sometimes.

Just imagine though, they release info slowly but surely for the upcoming two TV series. They release info regarding the big saga box set and (hopefully!) release info regarding 6 disc box set for the Prequel Star Wars scores to co-inside of the release for the big saga box set (again hopefully).

The next 16 months will be interesting to say the least as far as news goes.

As far as hyperspace goes, one of my friends has an account through them so I can login using his and check anything if I want to.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed

It's not the TV series - the animated serires is set during the Clone Wars and the live action one is still a few years away (this "event" is slated for next year). That's artwork for the videogame. You can check it out (and three more pieces) here. As you can see, it looks like a game set during the Dark Times.

Why they're calling a game "the biggest entertainment event of the year" and "a major addition to the Star Wars mythos" is beyond me. Two guesses:

1. It's a Shadows of the Empire type multimedia event (i.e., game, novel, comic series, soundtrack, etc.)

2. Lucas himself is working on the story. (Not that farfetched - LucasArts recently announced that their upcoming Indiana Jones game features a story "written for the first time under the direction of George Lucas".)

Rumor has it LucasArts is going to be releasing a game next year that will be souly based around Anakin/Vader.

Thats it? Another game? That's the "the biggest entertainment event of the year" bloody hell LucasFilm really does believe it's own hype! (the artwork is quite impressive BTW)

Well, the new Hyperspace ad (ok, it's some weeks old) said something about a sneak peak at upcoming DVDs. I have a feeling they weren't talking about the O-OT, so there'll probably be more new stuff in there (alongside touched-up deleted scenes, of course.) Can't imagine Lucas NOT doing something on them for the third anniversery (for good or worse).
