I don't know how many people here have an iPod and love them. I for one however think the iPods are over-hyped up and I really do detest iTunes. iTunes sucks ass it would not even let me import the specificed audio format that I converted from mp3. Anyhow I did find something that's a hell of a lot better than an iPod and I've read nothing but great reviews for it. I just placed an order for one this afternoon and I can't wait to get it.

It's a Creative Zen 30GB Mp3/Video Player.
This thing is everything that I need and as I said it looks a lot better than an iPod.

P.S. I tried creating a link to the player and followed the exact method on how to do the url thingy but it wouldn't work for some fracking reason....

Thank you FireB, yes that is the one I got mine in black though.

As far as the N200 goes I saw that while I was at Wally World but I wanted the 30GB Zen version. I want to be able to put some of my Star Trek Voyager episodes that I downloaded onto it. I had to order the 30GB Zen online since the store didn't carry it, which is no biggy though.

I've got a lot of work though ahead of me...to finish up something I'm working for to put on the mp3 player. As I said definitely can't wait to get mine.

I read a lot of reviews on both those items. I liked them a lot, but at the time iPod was the thing for me and still is. Good find though. :heavymetal:

I like my iPod. I agree with iTunes though. It pisses me off that they want to lock up my music that I buy so that I can't move it between my computer at work and at home. I'm waiting for that widescreen Video iPod with the virtual touch click wheel.

I like my iPod. I mostly only use it in my car since (1) the car CD player crapped out and (2) if I'm home, wtf do I need portable audio for?

The Zen looks like crap.

EDIT: although this one at Amazon looks cool. I could actually see me buying one of these if the iPod ever craps out.

the other mp3 players always seemed to me like stuff you find on clearance or something...odd, a little ugly and just not quite up to snuff...

nice to hear the zen is really a decent thing....hopefully, phones will do it all soon and you won't need a seperate mp3 player. Having a fully functioning ipod like phone can't be that far off...maybe apple will even make one for the trendy types.

No kidding. Wouldn't it be nice is cell phones worked better? I'd sacrifice my camera, mp3 player and collapsible dildo for that.

Ipods are shit. The Creative Zen Vision: M is fucking awesome. I sell these babies all day long to customers who have been lured by the mass marketing Apple. The new Zen takes the Ipod and mocks the hell out it. Go CREATIVE!

That's pretty cool Tern, didn't know you did that.

I don't care if cell phones worked better I still don't think the mass majority of costumers would buy a cell phone if they can buy the stand alone products that are 100x's better.

Speaking of the Creative Zen I should be getting mine on Friday. I can't wait for it!

Oh and I'll be buying a new digital camera next month too. I all ready got the accessories for it. The camera I'm going to be getting is the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N1 camera with an 8.1 Megapixels, 3x's Optical zoom and 6x's digital zoom.

There maybe some here who don't like Sony's cameras but I borrowed my friend's Sony camera a long time ago and I loved it. I really do like most of Sony's products they've never really let me down at all.

I have the original Zen Vision (the bigger one with a 3.5 in. screen) and I like it a lot. I don't know about the M, but mine you can take the battery off of and replace or even get one with a higher capacity. Sure, it's not as pretty as an iPod, but I had an iPod and had is break 2 times in a year in a half(so really I had 3 iPods) and wasn't really happy dealing with Apple anymore. So I switched to Creative and everything has worked out really well.

I actually got mine a day earlier than expected. This thing is pretty sweet. I have to wait for another hour and half for it to fully charge but oh well. I got to try and delete the music that's previously on there. :|

God I love this mp3/video player. I've put 50 Star Trek Voyager episodes on it, 25 scores, 1 various vocal song mix that I made that has Rob Zombie, Godsmack etc...and a Star Wars Saga theme set that I made as well. After all of that I still have 13.67GB's free. The sound quality and video quality for this thing is absolutely amazing. It's definitely been worth the money that I spent for it.

If anyone plans on upgrading their mp3 player I recommend this one.

Raveers that sounds really awesome.

I have an iPod mini and was thinking about getting a G5 iPod, but this looks much better.

I came to the realization the other day: I got my iPod mini Christmas 04. Come Christmas 05, Apple stopped making mini's all together! The batteries are pretty terrible (Apple probably does this on purpose--why would you ever need a new iPod if you've all ready got one? Oh, a faulty battery!) and this Creative sounds like a better idea.

I'll try and get one this summer.

The battery life for this thing as described in the specifications is true. Also while it's docked in the USB port it re-charges itself which is a plus. When you put it on lock mode it goes into a power-saver mode but still plays your music. It just makes it so you can't accidently hit a button and mess somethin' up while in locked mode.

It doesn't take long to transfer music at all to the player with the Yahoo Music Engine (the program you have to use to transfer music).

Good luck on getting one this summer man you won't regret it.

Raveers - skip the N1. Yes, its slim, but seriously - those screens crack easily. Your better off spending your money on the Pentax A-10 8mp 1/3 ccd or the Canon Ixus series.

You can change the battery on the Vision:M but Creative have to do it. You cant buy batteries for Ipods and Apple only cover you under the original warranty if the battery falls below 50%. Yeah, you can get an extended battery program - but they just give u a dodgy refurbished ipod (u never get urs back). And yes, u can get an after market service from a no-name job, but the pod will never be the same.

Longtime - the Zen Vision M has over 250000 colours in the screen compared to Ipods 50000. Plus u have the ability to download Mpeg 1,2,3,4m Divx 4/5 and Xvid. Add to that a calender, address book, calender, clock radio, FM radio, voice rec and this puppy leaves Ipod for dead ;)

The N1..hmm okay I figured it out. You were talking about the digital camera. Well I'm gonna stick with the N1, I like Sony's products...plus a friend of mine has one and he loves it, he's not had any problems with it since. Also I just bought the accessories for it.

playing mp3's on a cell phone is decent if it's all you got. no where near comparable to the product you got there though. sounds great. i rode from dallas to philly w/ my bro a couple of months ago in a uhaul. all we had was the truck radio and a 2 year old windows cell phone that accepted a flash card and played mp3's. was way better than nothing on a 24 hour drive.

my wife just upgraded to a motorola razor a week ago. that phone accepts no cards at all. so, while it has a decent camera, you cannot get the pics off any other way but to send them on verizons network. and you got to pay for that. same w/ tunes.

so while the cell phones will likely improve in the years to come so to will the carriers charge fees to tranfer data around. that's why i'd feel comfortable/confident spending the $ on stand alone products not designed to milk small fees. i hate that.

They probably crack because people are hitting the screens to damn hard. I've got a very light touch when it comes to handeling with electronics. As I said one of my friends has the N1 and he loves it and has never had any problems with it. So I'll be sticking to that.

Again as far as regarding cell phones that can play mp3 and video clips. FUCK THAT! You're looking to spend about the same ammount for a stand alone product (maybe a tad more) and it would have a hell of a lot better quality. I'd rather spend the same ammount of money if not a bit more to buy a stand alone product to have clearer audio sound and video quality.

Your average Joe would rather just spend the money to get the stand alone product than buy a cell phone that plays shitty quality mp3's and video clips.

I have a mini USB cable and Motorola phone tools on my computer for my RAZR (from Cingular) and that saves me the trouble of sending the pics ever the network. Lets me make any silly ringtone I want, too, without having to DL them and pay for them.
