This rip is incredible. I must say thanks to Hipnotik for the very easy to read and well executed document.

My final DVD will play on ALL of the Sony players I have tried. It did NOT play in my buddies X-Box or PS2. It did play in one Pioneer and not the other - wierd. It also had no problem playing on a Magnavox cheapy player. It did NOT play on a $40 Mintek with no region coding that plays all of the other 'Home Made' DVDs that we have thrown at it.

I am super frustrated that my personal DENON DVD-2200 Progressive player will play it for a few seconds and freeze up for the entire movie.

I have a 'Director's Series - Hitachi 65" HDTV' and the parts in between the freezing are simply STELLAR! However, I am forced to watch it on my Sony via S-Video (BOO!!!!!)

Perhaps I misread a previous post, but is it true that IFO edit can re-switch sound channels? What are the steps for doing that?

If not... what is the best method for doing so?

I used the dianoga's method...

A couple claim not to be. I don't know if anyone knows for sure though.

They're all from the same source. There IS a 5.1 version around, but it's faked 5.1, spreading the 2.0 source audio around...no point whatsoever in getting it. I have serious doubts that the source for the XVID was a DVD in any event - there is some pretty obvious anaolg distortion going on in the video. Where the hell this thing came from is still something I'd love to know.

AAF seems to be a pretty nice transcode, and it's pretty readily available. The big problem is that every version seems to have some sync issues in the second disc (REALLY noticeable during the Yoda/Sidious confrontation, "I have the higher ground...". Would be really nice if some group manages to sort that out.

I haven't noticed any sync problems with my copy. I DL'd somthing marked as the JFK copy, if that means anything. I'm only gonna watch it on my desktop (as this is how I like to view my films anyway) so I just left the VOB files as they were, just used VOB merge to join it all up. I haven't noticed any sync issues though, even at the end of the film its all running smoothly.

Hmmm..nevermind, I just tried the disc on my older Sanyo player (had been playing it on my new Divx-compliant Toshiba), and it looks like the sync problem I had been getting is actually something to do with the player. Weird, the old, clunky Sanyo plays great, and the new machine can't keep it together, go fig.

My re-encode of the internal XviD will be up in a couple of days. Just have to finish the menus and author the DVD. I'll post an nfo and some screenies when I get a chance.

My "guess" for the source...

an analog montior out from the DLP source. Probably capped on MiniDV plugged from the line in.

Wake me up when the real DVD rip arrives. Should be going from pressing soon - next month or two.

Just gonna ask this once, then I'll disappear forever into the ether.

I'm looking for the followng screen caps:

1) From the time Obi-Wan severs Anakins legs and remaining arm

through

2) the time when Anakin hits the ground (maybe a little rolling)

I really only need the caps after the severing that give some idea of the distance to the ground, and whatever cap(s) show the position in which his body lands.

I am in one of the far reaches of the planet that does not yet have cable or DSL, so I am at the mercy of a dial up connection (fuck, we just got freakin' phones five years ago....).

I've already been baked, roasted, julienned, pureed, and friccaseed asking this elsewhere, so I can't imagine that anything nasty you might say will make me think "Oh gee, now wasn't *that* fucking clever."

Any assistance with my request will be sincerely appreciated (hell, I might even consider a blow job if you pass through the far reaches of beautiful downtown Barrow, Alaska anytime in the near future). Nasty, witty remarks? Well, they had better be frickin' superb (on an Olympic scale to 10).

Thanks in advance,

Ballari ;)
