Just got back from the after partry. Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, George Lucas, Mark Hamill, Richard Dreyfuss, Cindy Williams, Peter Mayhew, Bob Weinstein, among others were in attendance.

News from the event:

1) Harrison Ford definitely locked for Indy 4. "Hurry up and get off your asses George and Steven, before Sean is too old to play my dad again."

2) Inference by either Spielberg, Lucas, or Williams (can't remember I'm wasted) that Sith was certainly not the last Star Wars film.

3) George told me that he is heading to Australia next week to start work on the series. No further details. He's very private.

^That's my concern too. Lucas himself has said many times that he wants the SW movies to have a beginning, middle and end rather than "...going on and on like Star Trek..." (his exact words).

But then, since the news on the Trekkie front is that Trek might finally... finally... be dead, maybe Lucas is having a change of heart?

To be honest with you DKR, the sense I got from Lucas in person is that the whole "doing smaller movies" thing is either a cover story, or won't happen for years yet. He's gonna be really tied up in the series and Indiana Jones 4 for a long time.

Erm... This latest film was animated too. About 90% of it anyway. ;)

Why the need for a cover story? Why go to that kind of elaborate measure?

I doubt it's some sort of elaborate conspiracy. He's been talking for years and years about wanting to go out and do smaller budget artsy movies, Star Wars ended up being a 30 year detour in his career, etc.

I just think that with the TV show, the new Indy movie, with ALL that going on, how's he going to have time to go make more movies. Unless he completely lets the series control go to others--not happening. I don't think that he'll be making these movies he's been talking about for quite a few years down the road, but I hope I'm wrong. Personally, I can't wait to see them.

I don't think he's going to milk Star Wars for the money, but on the other hand he's not going to let it go, or let some other people take control of his universe. I doubt there'll be more movies, as long as the TV series wets his appetite, but who knows, maybe I'll end up eating my words. I think Lucas has too great an amibtion for these two trilogies to go off and just make ONE more film. That'd be lame, and he knows it. And I doubt he'll spend another decade doing another trilogy.

IESB interviewed Lucas (either after/before tribute) in the interview Lucas states that there will be NO other feature films concerned with 'SW' - 'No, this (Sith) is the end of it'

http://www.inlandempirestrikesback.net/ ... 060905.php

As far as the core films - I'm glad he has this attitude

Not to be so negative either but I have also just read (If u can believe what u read) where Lucas stated that he has not built his companies to continue on forever after he's gone, just to service him and the pictures he'd like to do while he's here

Believe the media. Seriously. Believe what people say to the press. It's all good.

Will someone be good enough to compile a list of everything George promised would be in Episode III and wasn't?

Who do I trust, corporate controlled press organizations or internet random? Actually I'd rather trust MF star Artmaul seeing as he just posted a picture of himself with George Lucas, so I'm going with the internet random.

Artmaul, George Lucas actually like as a person to talk to?

They showed Howard the duck. :o

Carrie Fisher's bit was tired. About everything she said she's said before time and again. Not funny.

Oh my God, I thought it was Jackson's younger brother!!! He must have had his stomach stapled. Either that or this is how he really looks (the fat version being 6 years of eating junk while working on LOTR.)

The show was pretty good. Just the right balance of OT and PT. Shatner's intro was excellent. Carrie's diatribe was funny. Mark barely registered as a blip on the screen. Harrison... looked a little lost. He would have looked right at home in an old folks home. Forget Sean Connery, *HE* may be too old to be Indy again.

Slightly off topic but to see more of Peter Jackson's new look, and a funny little Singer/Jackson Video Blog check out # 7 - 'The Call' (15 others if your interested)

http://www.bluetights.net/bulletin_list.php

Look like Singer's taking the Web doc idea and using it for 'The making of Superman' - some pretty neat idea's

I couldn't believe how Jackson looked! I heard his voice, looked up and saw what I figured was him back when he first started making films. Then realized that it was recent. He's lost so much weight, his eyes look bigger. Maybe he kept the Ring after all?

I watched this last night, and it was actually pretty cool, what I thought was really funny though, was the different ways the OT actors addressed Lucas. Harrison gushed on him, and rightfully so since he owes the flanneled one for both his career making roles, Hamill was reserved, because their relationship has been up and down, and then you have the train wreck of Carrie Fisher, who was hammered or whatever caused her rant and insenuation that she banged him to get the role! That was the best part of the show.

Actually, the first step to solving a problem is admitting it. I know, I was in a 12-step program.

And now... the 12 steps, in order. And GL needs to pay attention to them all.

1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol(bad writing) - that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. (Spielberg)

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. (McCallum)

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. (Re-writes)

5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. (Coppula)

6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. (Re-writes)

7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings. (Re-writes)

8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. (Fox)

9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. (Fox, ILM)

10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. (Yeah, right)

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. ($$$)

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs. (again, more $$$)

[/u]

I taped it on VHS, I'll pop it up to the computer and then put it on Demonoid if another version doesn't appear there beforehand.

Sorry folks, if I got your hopes up.....this looks like crap.. Guess that's what happens when you use the 6 hour tape speed on a many times recorded VHS..

I'm sure it will surface from another source shortly.

Does anybody have any idea how good the quality of this torrent is?

I have a recording that I transferred from my PVR and converted to XviD/mp3 (700 MB, 512x384, no commercials, 2 War of World TV spots)...

But I was wondering if it was even worth the trouble to share it now... is everyone satisfied with the version that is out there?

Is it just as good or better than mine?

The "razzle" torrent is fine. It's 640x480 and 1110 kbps (at 700 mb). Its good, no commericals or anything. The quality is good, not great, but fine for an award show.
