When the hell would that happen?

Doesn't Padme die right after the births? And who's attacking them?

I've got questions along with DQG... you're not insinuating that the attack on the ship kills her, right? Cause we know that's not true. Plus, wouldn't Yoda then die as well?

And I'm curious as well - who would be attacking them, how would they find them, and how would Yoda get away?

Seems like nothing more than rumors to me.

actually I like that...

Maybe she is in a part of the ship that explodes and kills her and Yoda escapes and thats why the lil green dude lands on Dagobah?

My question is: Where is Luke? Already with OB1?

Seems that what we know so far and have taken to be truth maybe off a lil if this is in fact how the scene goes.

Makes it better when palpidious learns of this and lies to AniVader about her death...

This and the reason why Mace goes to visit Palpatine are the two biggest mysteries left. I'm curious to see how this shapes up. All I know is that Natalie and Ewan share an "emotional" scene together near the end. I've always assumed this was her death.

This news is interesting.

doesnt there have to be some kind of other event so that the empire thinks yoda is dead? or do they just assume he was killed in the jedi temple raid?

Maybe they think he's killed in the attack on the spaceship he's in with Padme at the end... ;)

Who knows about Luke AND Leia? = Padme/Yoda

Who knows about Luke? = Padme/Yoda/Obi-Wan

Who knows about Leia? = Padme/Yoda/Bail

Common = Padme & Yoda

Seems to me the following occurs:

1) Padme forced choked by Anakin which puts her into premature labour.

2) Padme delivers Leia.

3) Leia is immediately given to Bail who quickly takes off for Alderaan.

4) A second child, Luke, is born later unbeknown to Bail.

5) Obi-Wan, finished from his fight, is given Luke by Yoda.

6) Yoda takes Padme back to X but the ship comes under attack.

7) Yoda escapes but Padme is killed.

End.

well force chokes don't neccessarily kill so there's a chance she dies elsewhere....on a ship....on a blockade runner.....

or maybe it's the third last scene, before the binary sunset and SD bridge scenes?

Yoda may be escorting Padme back to Naboo when this attack happens.

SI, the last scene isn't on a SD...if I remember correctly.

Mustafar being where everyone parts ways seems logical enough to me.
But where did Obi-Wan not knowing about Leia come from?
Isn't he the guy that let's that particularly large cat out of the bag in RotJ.

"The Emperor knew, as I did, that if Anakin were to have any offspring they would be a threat to him.
That is why your sister remains safely anonymous."

And Obi-Wan knows where Yoda is, he tells Luke in ESB:

"You will go to the Dagobah system.
There you will meet Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me."

So either enlightenment through the Force allows knowledge of all things (although why Obi-Wan didn't tell the Rebels the RotJ Death Star assault was a trap in that case is beyond me) or there's something funny in this sequence of events we're putting together at this end of Ep3. Yoda ends up on Dagobah, Obi-Wan and Luke end up on Tatooine, Padme ends up dead, Bail and Leia end up on Alderaan. Padme needs to tell Obi-Wan about the Lars homestead, he's never been there before, so I presume she's still alive for a little while after Luke arrives and Obi-Wan is still around. Could Yoda somehow be shot out in an escape pod to Dagobah as they're going past/being attacked? And if Padme were in danger of dying, there's no way in hell Bail would be leaving her behind to rush Leia off to safety on Alderaan....surely he'd be taking her with him so she at least has a hope of getting some medical treatment?

I think this "he knows, he doesn't know, they leave at different times" stuff is complicating things uneccessarily (if it turns out that way).

IU, Ben doesn't know about Leia in ESB.

However, remember the "two other characters with Obi-Wan" quote? Could it be Padme and Yoda??

So let me get this straight...

Palpatine tells Anakin that he killed Padme and their child when all along it was Palps commanding a Star Destroyer to take the ship down? :?

I think they are saying that Palpatine is nearby because Anakin is rescued and Vaderised by him and sends a convoy to kill them.

That's not entirely true.
"That boy is our last hope" could be construed as Obi-Wan not taking Leia as much of a hope for success against the Empire and Yoda doesn't underestimate her as much. Either way, you're right in that there's room there for GL to move it either way.

Yeah, I've always thought that Owen wouldn't be keen to take Luke in, knowing full well that his step-brother will come looking for this child one day and given his strongly isolationist tendencies in ANH. But I think Owen loves Beru and Padme could easily convince Beru to take the child on a "woman to woman" level....GL is always goofy like that. I mean seriously, why the hell would a seasoned cynic like Owen who's lived his life in a harsh environment believe a strange Jedi and take a child of him on his word that it's related to him? Padme has at least met them and they know her, it makes much more sense. Maybe Padme dies on Tatooine and scores a grave next to Shmi? That seems kind of poetic, the many women that Anakin couldn't save.

you can't use ESB as a catalyst for saying Obi-Wan knows nothing of Leia. The dialogue in ROTJ clarifies the ambiguity of Yoda's "no, there is another".

Is this something you're hearing from spies or what you've construed from ESB? Cause as others have mentioned there are plenty of ways for that line to make sense with him still knowing about Leia.

Padme dies in Obi-Wan's arms, so I don't see how this could be true at all, especially the part about Obi-Wan not knowing about Leia.

Also, we've been told all along that they have to land on a new planet for Padme to give birth. But the way you're telling it apparently Padme gives birth on Mustafar while the duel is still taking place. That doesn't add up.

I thinkt the funeral on Naboo is the biggest problem with this new info. How, why and when need to be answered.

Bob, the most concrete reply to that is: Vader screams after Sidious reveals Padme's death and the scene fades into the Naboo funeral scene.

Yes, but what are they burying? Is there a body? Does no one question how a Senator from a major planet died?

There weren't any Jedi listed as being at the funeral, was there?
But Keisha Castle-Hughes (ie: new Naboo queen) was?
The shot from the set diary was supposed to be a procession along a city street or something?

I that's all true it's saying to me that it's after Obi-Wan/Yoda/Bail have scattered and it's on Naboo.
It's entirely possible that Padme would be wanting Naboo to leave the Republic/Empire if she found out that Palpatine = Sidious. But she can only go as far as the ruler of Naboo will allow her since she's a Senator and respresentitive only. Given the sway that Palpatine demonstrated on Padme in TPM, I guess it's possible that Padme would be at odds with the Queen and the planet she's chosen to serve and Palpatine could lie through his teeth about the Jedi killing her (if she dies in the presence of Obi-Wan/Yoda that is).

Well, there were Senatorial Guards and Planetary guards at the funeral along with various Senators. No doubt about who's funeral it is.

There is no way in the world that I can see Naboo staying in a dictatorship, personally.

Well, it's an interesting rumour, Tern. But personally I'm sticking by what EP said, that Padme is force choked by Anakin, then dies on an unkown planet, with Obi-Wan at her side. Makes the most sense to me. And, I want to see Ewan's wonderful acting, in this sad, tragic, heartbreaking moment.

Of course, if it turns out like you say, I won't really mind, just as long as she DOES die, I don't really care how it happens. I take it, however it happens, you think Padme will die in Episode III? :chewbacca:

Is Padme conscious during all this or completely knocked out from force-choking/childbirth/travel fatigue?

I would guess that she has a few choice words with people, not fully knocked out.

I'm with fatboy on this one. It doesn't jive with what we know so far. I think padme dies in space or on Mustafar. But even if she dies in space or somewhere else they would most likely take her body back to her home planet for the burial.

6) Yoda takes Padme back to X but the ship comes under attack.

Yoda can't fly shit, his feet can't reach the pedals.
