Props to the FBI, Homeland Security, the MPAA and all that...but I'm sorry to say that I've never even heard of Elite Torrents before today.

(And when the fuck did online movie piracy become an issue of national security?)

Yeah! They (the feds) can't find Bin Laden, but they can go after file-sharers that pose no threat whatsoever. The government is just out to protect corporate America and it's subsidiaries.

Pretty soon, people are just going to get pissed off and stop going to the theater and buying cd's altogether if this shiat continues.

Check out the "U.S. Homeland Security" gif on that site! lol WTF???

Nah, that's already happening, and it's not because of piracy. It's because digital media has made for a glut of material. If you can carry around 1000 songs in the iPod in your pocket, what's your incentive to buy new music? If you can visit Blockbuster or Best Buy and choose from nearly every movie ever released and watch it in the comfort of your home -- any night for the rest of your life if you've bought it -- what's your incentive to buy a $10 movie ticket and a $5 bucket of popcorn just to end up listening to a screaming 6-year-old two seats away?

The motion picture and music industries are still accustomed to having a certain measure of control over how we were exposed to their stuff. They don't quite get that we've moved past it. The pirates understand modern audiences better than the professionals do.

It's just a matter of time before they start pulling IP logs off of that confiscated server. You know they had their own torrent tracker no doubt so they are pretty much screwed. I would imagine the members of that private torrent site are sweating rather profusely right about now.

Here, I'll put it in bold so it will penetrate better: 133,000 members!

I doubt they will mess with the 133,000 users. I am sure they are going after the guys that run the site, maybe big seeders and people who get the material first on the site.

I pulled a couple of episodes of a TV show I missed because I don't want to wait months for reruns.

But, I wasn't active enough and my account was deleted.

i don't get it, they aren't providing the movie, they are just providing a file that connects people WITH the movie, the probelm is the people not the website

Yeah, I found it and it cracked me up too.

I love how the victim flails while their heart and stomach slide out.
