Shoot me if this is already a thread, I haven't seen any yet.

I guess the processor speed combines to be 2 teraflops. I'm guessing that's a pretty okay speed. I don't think it's as powerful as the XBOX 360, but it looks to definitely give it some competition. Plus it comes with seven controller ports.

What are you looking more forward to, the new XBOX or Playstation?

PS3 is uninteresting. Their game library may be huge, but they have few exclusives that are worth while.

PS2 was the weakest in power of the current generation (though it ended up better than the GC because of the games, IMO). So they'd have to do something fabuloso for me to want to get it. Including the blu-ray is good, but pretty worthless right now given the lack of anything on blu-ray.

I think, of the new generation console, I'll get the XBox360.

Anyone else amused by the timing of the the 360 and PS3 information releases? All within a couple of days.

I'm looking forward to the Playstation more... Will be amusing to see the price they start selling them at here in the UK, their usually ridiculously expensive here.... but then again everything is here.

If the controllers use bluetooth that means it would be battery operated, that would get kind of annoying if you've been playing for a while and suddenly the batter power starts to run dry in the middle of a game...

Yea but my question was aimed at the PS3, I wasn't aware that they used the same sort of system, hence my question. I haven't seen the Xbox specifications, only the PS3 ones.

I've got a PS2, but I've been thinking about getting an XBox because I'd like to play KOTOR and Halo. What would really seal the deal for me would be to hear that the 360 is backwards-compatible, but Microsoft doesn't seem to want to address this yet. What's the big secret?

I think the sales are really going to be determined by the price of the systems. I'm just wondering how much the PS3 is going to cost. How much is too much for a gaming console? I would probably go up to $399 if I had the money, but after that . . .

i'll spare you the technical jargon DKR, but the currently fastest video cards on the market the 6800Ultra(Nvidia) and the x850(ATi) only have 16 pipelines, whereas the last generation 9800pro(ATi) and FX5900(Nvidia) only had 8 active pipelines, so quoting that quote. "48 pipelines is simply bonkers"

IN OTHER WORDS, THE GRAPHIX WILL FUCKING OWN :heavymetal:

spring 06' huh, well isn;t xbox2 due out in november? i think PS3 is gonna get it's ass kicked, looking to be the next Atari/Sega/Nintendo, especially if M$ can come out with somthing to top the PSP much like that Sony did to Nintendo.

the sheer fact of the matter is that if PS3 and XB360 are a repeat of PS2 and XBX, then PS3 will have Final Fantasy.........and thats about it, XBOX will have everyfuckingthingelse short of mario.l people say that there are tons of great games on ps2, like what i say, like..... ummm... all the star wars games! hey they are on xbx and look better.... oh welll, how about GTA, i can wait 6 months for the xbx version with better grafix and upgraded features. ps2 can suck my left nut, the only good console that sony has right now is the PSP, and thats cuz nothing can touch it.
