As the ship starts to split in half, Burtt recycles the music from when Maul forces pushes Obi Wan into the pit thingy in TPM.

Get it.

Maul.

Spliting in half.

God I'm pathetic.

You can see clone troopers riding them on Felucia...as you pan across the single grunt troop joining captain Bly, you can see them move just out of frame....then Aayla gets blasted, double kilt and triple kilt.

The neck piece bit with the creation of vader was the first thing that stood out to me in my first viewing of the movie. I may have a critical eye since I am a film/video major right now, but that error was just blatant. Hopefully it is just a matter of something having been edited out... but even so with the digital wizardry that lucas puts into his work, you would think he would have noticed and paid someone to roto in a neck piece for the footage.

I have an easter egg.

Watch closely as the Tantiv IV takes in Obi Wan in General Grevious' fighter. The fighter comes in underneath the Tantiv and docks up into it. This exactly parallel's the Tantiv IV being taken into Vader's Star Destroyer at the very beginning of Episode IV.

My two cents... :whateva: [/list]

------screencaps anyone?

Duh, everyone knows that the Trade Federation C-9978 Lander WAS RETIRED on Stardate 4456789 when they upgraded to class "D" landers with the dual shock thrusters and built in DVD support.

No, you're right, I was specifically watching for that at the theater tonight. No other ships are visible until the "waterfall" shot. I suppose that capital ship is at the very edge of the battle.

Yeah, i'm like pretty positive that that's not a mistake. For those who didn't know what was about to happen in the beginning of the film, it was a set up for a surprise. "Ok, Star Destroyer. Ooh, wait. Jedi Starfighters. Holy shit! There's a huge fucking battle going on!!!" I think people are starting to look just a bit too hard for problems/mistakes.

I believe that the following are not really mistakes, but little "fuck you's" courtesy of Lucas and/or the CGI artists at ILM.

The whole Vader neck piece not being there in one shot and suddenly appearing in the next shot in ROTS is EXACTLY the same mistake that was done in ROTJ, when Luke unmasks Vader (when he removes the mask the lower half is attached to the chestplate, but in the reverse shot it suddenly dissappears)

In ROTS, when Padme goes to Mustafar looking for Vader, watch which button she presses...if I'm not mistaken it's the same button (yes, different ship, but same button position) that Padme pushed twice in AOTC when she goes with Anakin to Geonosis, the one everyone was bitching about because she pushed it once for relaying the holo message from OB1 to the council, and then again to pull up a chart for the location of Geonosis. It's as if they said: "the nerds were bitching about her pushing the same button twice? Fuck'em, let's make her push the same motherfucking button again so they bitch about this one too"

It's even worse than that. Three shots in order are totally different, not just two. The neck seal is inside the shoulderpiece when the mask comes down, then as the helmet is placed on, the neck is over the shoulderpiece.

Come on, at that moment no one was fucking breathing during this scene, you're seeing the birth of Darth Fucking Vader.

I never heard so many "holy shit" and "gasps" in a movie theatre before.

No one says to Kit Fisto he would have to fight against the Chancellor being a sithlord; Mace takes off with him and the two other jedi without saying a word of that terrible truth. Thats not a mistake, but i found interesting that he didnt say anything about that soon as he meet them.

The other pilot is Roger Barton.

http://www.starwars.com/bio/rogerbarton.html

At the opera scene, you can see Rob Coleman. He's in front of, John Knoll which can be seen alot during Palps Sith Story.

Not an easter egg,

But last words from Padme to Anakin were, I Love You.

Anakin's last words were, I Hate You.

OB1 last words to Anakin were, You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you.

It makes me sad when I think, that Anakin fucked his own life, for being too fucking greddy....

Yea, i'm hoping the dvd will have additional dialogue leading up to the confrontation. Seems i remember reading excerpts from the book where one of these guys says they should wait for yoda.

Also hoping the dvd has Palpatine making a comment about Saesee Tiin's horn healing up from a past injury.

I don't know if any of you guys got this but in ESB Palpatine tells Vader: "We have a new enemy - Luke Skywalker" and Vader replies "How is that possible?"

Now in ROTS he tells Vader that he killed Padme. Doesn't this sound strange? She can't have given birth to a child!!!! And in ESB Vader just accepts what Palpatine tells him. Perhaps 'the dark side was too strong'. What do you all think?

OK. I'm assuming that you're trying to say something like, "Nobody would've noticed or cared about that helmet issue because they were wrapped up in the scene." So, does that mean that upon a second viewing you can't notice things like that after already witnessing the sheer awesomness of that scene? Did I say, "Man, I saw that fuck up the first time I saw the movie!"? No. Because I didn't. But the second time I did. And every time since then I did also. Yeah, at the May 12th screening, a room full of DC's die hard Star Wars fans fell silent to hear Vader's first mechanical breath, and there were many gasps indeed. It was the same way at midnight on the 19th... except that I had seen it already and was soaking in extra details. I didn't say that this ruined the scene for me or anything either. But I did notice it. Damn my attention to detail!

Now, if you meant something else, please explain.

When Obi-Wan escapes from Utapau and contact Bail, he says emergency code 913... Well , since I couldn't find any other inferences to 1138, I thought outside the box...

Well, for what it's worth, Ben Burtt was obviously the voice of the pilot of the fireship - and unlike Matthew Wood's efforts, he didn't even bother with any voice acting with his "We'll take you in" line...

1138 was cut from the movie, if you read the script you will see that it was meant to be said by sidious during the order 66 bit.

Comander Baccara (Ki-Adi Mundi's clone commander) is Commander 1138.

So yeh....it was cut....

Just wanted to pop in and say Traiken is right: the sound made is most obviously the sound of a pod racer's engines. No tie fighter has ever made a sound like that.

Here's one for the "nice touches" department. When Padme asks Anakin to talk to the Chancellor about resuming talks with the Sepratists he points at her the same way Vader points at Leia in ANH when he says "You are part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor!".

Vader knows he has a kid. Not only does it say in the opening crawl of ESB, but he says "...and Skywalker is with them." regarding the Rebels on Hoth.

Nice catch Duff!! :wayghey: I'm somewhat surprised that no one seems to have mentioned this seeming flub, as I noticed it immediately the first time I saw the film. I've seen it several times since and it's not a figment of my imagination. During the Mace/Palpatine duel, Palp's lightsaber goes buh bye out the window of his office. Yet, we later see Palp duel Yoda...with the same saber? Or does Palp have another? I suppose Mas Amedda is so far up Palp's robes that he might've gone out and found Palp's saber for him.

None of whom were using a red bladed lightsaber. Yet, I could see where it would've made a good deal of sense for Palpatine to have used one of their sabers, when encountering Yoda. I did'nt see anything in the film to indicate that Palp had a second saber. Yet, outside of it being a cinematic continuity error, I could easily fathom his having more than one saber.

Here were a couple of EU nods I saw:

During the first Jedi Council when Anakin is denied the rank of Master, you can see a KOTOR Republic gunship passing in the background behind Obi-Wan (screen left to right). I don't know the "official" ship name, but it is recognizable as the bridge resembles a hammerhead shark. The ship appears in the KOTOR video game at the end when the Republic is attacking the Star Forge.

The Kashyyk battle scene is laid out geographically similar to Kashykk in the Battlefront video game. The droids attack from an island across the lagoon. There are two platforms on each side of the lagoon from which clones are stationed. The main difference between the movie and video game is the trees in the movie are huts in the video game.

These items aren't in the movie, but the Illustrated Movie Scrapbook says that Chancellor Palpatine ordered Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas to Kamino to place the order for the clones. Sifo-Dyas was disillusioned with the Jedi Order and did this on his own without the authority of the Council. Once the clones were ordered, Palps/Sidious had Dooku kill Sifo-Dyas as his first act as the new Dark Lord. Yoda's information in the scrapbook says that he was worried about the loss of disenfranchised Jedi who didn't agree with the Jedi going to war. He was worried about this thinning the ranks and strength of the Jedi. I question the Scrapbook as movie canon, because it specifically mentions Vaapad and Windu being a Level 7 user.

Nor do I m8. Just bugged me to see Palp lose his saber like that. Slimjim, nice finds man. I'm pretty sure there's a mention of the fate of Sifo Diyas in the novel 'Labryinth of Evil', but that's pretty intriguing to think that Palpatine sent Diyas off to order the clones. Vaapad as a fighting style is also mentioned in LOE and the Clone Wars graphic novel series, which I'm currently reading. I know most take anything EU to be hokum, but it's still some pretty entertaining stuff methinks. JimDangle, ya make a very good point about Palpatine seemingly planning for any and every contingency. ROTS kinda makes Vader look like a saint compared to Palpatine, once we've seen him get his hands dirty with some Jedi blood.

he could have let a few clone troopers go all the way down and retrieve his saber. You don't want any regular people to play around with sabers

If the metal barrier had just withdrawn everyone on the bridge would be being buffeted around to an insane degree by inrushing wind.

Actually, Grievous breaks the 1st window to the left, you can see the metalwindow right after the Invisible Hand is "landed".

Yes it is. And the copy I have is badly compressed and I can still hear it. Not as prominently as in the theater, but I can. If I were at home right now, i'd make you an mp3.

I'm glad that Mon Mothma made it in there, barely. I blew up the pic of the senators:
