Well, it's been established in a previous thread that I'm a pussy 'cos my girl won't let me go to the midnight showing. So I've got 25 hours to go here in the UK. It's dragging sooo much.

It may be better just to pull an all nighter, once you get past the 3-4:30 pass out stage your body will run on auto pilot I had to work a couple of graveyard shifts in the past, that's what you should do IMO. Or just suck it up and go to work regardless
By the way 16 hours 45 minutes!

Well, I suppose I could stay up. I guess it shouldn't be a problem because I have tickets for another screening at 3:15pm on Thursday. That should keep me pretty excited all day. My friends have been giving me shit for not going tonight. I guess I'd better just go.

And kingslybri, you know just as well as I do most people can't appreciate a Geno's Cheese steak until you've had one. Jabba's happy ending is a small price to pay....

Genos is the dark side....

Yeah, I'm just sorry I wasn't born 5-6 years before May 1977. THAT would have been the ultimate.

9 hours to go. We are going down to the theater at 9:00 though to wait in line. So I guess about 6 hours until the last great Star Wars experience starts for me.

Go a little more to the east and watch it an hour earlier.

Yeah, I guess I could just go over to Knoxville and watch it. But I already have my ticket. Of course the only digital theaters in Tennessee are in Memphis and I sure as hell ain't going that way. My in-laws live there. Dirty bastards.

Three hours :) Looks like I'm gonna have to wait in line though, the bastard cinema doesn't do reserve seating.

Well, the bloody Odeon in Leicester Square is fairly solidly booked for the next couple of days!! The only other theatre I found showing it digitally is the Ritzy down in Brixton - really lovely art house cinema - sooooo, I've two tix for Friday evening!

Wish it was playing digitally in more houses ... might try and see it at the VUE in Islington and compare ...

Well, apparently the ArcLight Cinema is now a quantum singularity of fandom, replete with lightsaber fights and all that shit. I'd better get down there; the sheer density of geek could cause the universe to collapse in on itself, and I don't want to miss witnessing a nerd holocaust.

Now, where's my brown bathrobe...

Darth Verta has left the building.

The wait at the theater in San Marcos, Texas was not bad at all. Granted, this is not a huge metropolis by any stretch of the imagination, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

I arrived for the 12:02 (12:01 was sold out) showing at around 9:30, and there were only four people in front of me. We stood in line for maybe thirty minutes, then were let into the theater.

After sitting in the silent theater for about twenty minutes, the theater manager came in and asked if anybody had the soundtrack with them. I was convinced this was a trick to screen out all the true nerds, but I figured "what the hell." I spoke up.

He said that they did not have any music that seemed appropriate for the Star Wars theme, and that if I were to lend my soundtrack to the theater to play whilst waiting for the movie to start, I would be given free passes.

My only dilemma now is whether to use those free passes to see it again this weekend or save them for Batman.
