Let's just take a bit and remember that day 5 years ago. I still can't even believe it's been 5 years all ready, time sure has flown by. Anyways what do you remember from that day? I mean what you were doing when everything transpired. Here is what I and my friend Chris remember. The post from my friend Chris by the way was taken from a bulletin he posted in on myspace...
My parents and I were still living in Vegas and at the time my friends Sam and Chris were staying with us for a while. Anyhow, I was sleeping in my room when my friend Chris came barging in my room and told me to quickly get dressed and come in and watch the TV because something was happening in New York. Chris left my room after I said okay and I was kind of irritated since I didn't get that much sleep the night before so I grumbled, got out of bed and got dressed and went into the family room.
What I saw on TV was pretty much unreal, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. At first I thought this was one of those CG documentaries that these stations liked to show back then. Then when we all (my mom, Chris, Sam and I) saw the second plane hit live I knew then it was a real terrorist attack. The four of us were glued to the TV the whole time, then we watched as both towers collapsed. My friends and I were pretty pissed off the rest of the day yet sad at the same time. Pissed off to the fact wondering how terroist could to do this to us.
It was pretty eerie though not hearing the usual air traffic from all the airlines taking off, or seeing them come in for a landing that night and for the next few days when all air traffic was suspended around the U.S. I will never forget that day and I'm sure everyone else won't either.
Edit: By the way the quote below is from my friend Chris who posted this in a bulletin on myspace...
Quote:
I was sleeping in Trent's spare bedroom when Sam came in and told me to get up cuz some fuckers were attacking our country! I got out of bed and went to the family room to check out the unfloding events on the TV. I then bounded into Trent's room and told him to get the hell outta bed and get to the TV. It was an especially difficult morning for me, as I had signed up for the US Navy delayed entry program a few weeks earlier. I must say though, that it was with a new resolve that I joined and continue to serve for going on 5 years, because of that morning. It was a morning I will never forget.
