It's fucking HUGE

It's a joke.
M$ want to RELEASE it in 2006.
Without a Hard Drive, backwards compatability and good games, it's just going to get slaughtered by Sony's PS3 and Nintendo Revolution a year later.
Those are theoretical specs.

The ArtX ATi Team (responsible for Radeon 9700/9800, GCN GFX Chip) is working on Nintendo Revolution's gfx chip, not the Xenon.

On another note, Microsoft STILL won't see profits from the XBOX until 2006

M$ wants to release NEXT YEAR (I made a mistake, their target release is 2005, not 2006)
Sony WAS going to release the PS3 next year, but since Toshiba's Cell CPU is not progressing as well as they'd like, they're delaying it to 2006/2007 and covering up with "We believe a five year console life span is too short", even though they're the ones who enforced it, Nintendo wanted 8 year life spans, but they can't follow that because of their competitors. Work on Nintendo Revolution is well underway, and they're going to release shortly after Sony.

MS and Sony do not know each others specs.

Listen you can't argue all you want, it is up to the individuals to chose what system they are going to purchase. I like my GameCube very much. I enjoy Mario games, a game, for me, doesn't need to be violent to be fun. I enjoy Tetris, that isn't violent. I'm not anti-violence, I own UT, Halo, Jk2, Battlefield 1942, among others. The reason I got a GameCube is for the Nintendo games, I love MarioKart, 1080, Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Melee, etc. I'm sorry but just because a game is kiddie doesn't mean it isn't good.

I can't stand GT games. The physics is really god awful. In most of these games I end up crashing most of the time. I have a drivers license, and I drive regularly, I have never hit anything.

I have been tempted to buy a PS2, they have a few good exclusives. Not enought to get me to buy the system.

But I mentioned those games because they look a ton better than 99% of XBOX games, and you tried to tell me XBOX is more powerful :P
Realistically... apart from Splinter Cell 3 and a few others, there's hardly anything impressive on XBOX. Resident Evil 4 wipes the floor with ALL of your examples - and it's ALL real time.

If you go solely on first party games, Nintendo makes much better games than Xbox or Sony. Xbox bought Halo, Sony don't know what they have made honestly.

Meh, I got the GC, and never really enjoyed the game selection. I'm not a big gamer, so it doesnt matter too much, but still, there just wasnt too much out there. And damn was it impossible to rent them from the video store.

Seems to me that PS2 and XBox had more games, more variety, and more availability.

And in the end, whats the point of making a system if people are limited in their ability to use it?

I don't understand all the hate ... GC is a solid system with good games. You don't like them, just because you don't kill someone and the average rating are E/T doesn't mean they are bad. Have you played any GC games ? I have played GTA, didnt like the concept and the controller layout was horrible. I liked Amped on the Xbox, but 1080 turned out better IMHO.

I miss not playing BattleFront.

Xbox is expensive though. Just to play online it costs money.

I had a ps2 and GC I ended up selling my ps2 and buying a DVD player for my movies. I own quite a few GC games and enjoy it quite a bit. I find it gets a lot of play at parties etc. And these are all adults playing these so called kiddie games. People play what they like I don't see why so many people get wrapped up in the image of a console.
