Actually I just got that Star Wars Visionaries book.
It has a story of Grievous origin by the Artist who created Grievous.

Anyway in it Dooku gives the newly cyberneticlly enhanced Grievous a blood tranfusion from Jedi Master Sifo Dias (who was in suspended animation or frozen).

Curious huh? :?

Best thing about this chapter was the Anakin dream on the cave walls. Awesome stuff from a "cartoon". And I love how this series is leading up to the opening of Ep3

Yes the dream was unexpected and a great touch.

BTW anyone notice in EP 21 when Anakin says to 3PO
"impressive, most impressive." Ala Vader in ESB I think. hahah I thought that was pretty clever. Anyone notice any other Vader-esque lines from Anakin

Someone said something about Anakin force choking someone in EP 25? True or not?

Visionaries is completely removed from canon. It's not even EU continuity. It's a bunch of "What If's?" and other like hypothetical situations done by the concept artists of RotS. Some of it may mirror or be similar to EU bits, but none of it is "for real" in whatever sense you want to take that.

Please post proof that it is completely outside official continuity.

It would seem Greivous' actual backstory is pretty similar to the Visionaries tale, save for the fact that Sifo-Dyas was nowhere NEAR involved.

Once again, post proof that his involvment is not part of the continuity. All I see from the OS article is that the story highlights his creation. Nowhere does it say that it is non-canon.

I mean, compare it with stuff like Maul vs. Obi-Wan on Tatooine. It's just a sheep's wet dream that's fun to read, but would never "actually happen" in the Star Wars continuity. Maul is dead. These stories are not part of the timeline - do not use them in arguments about the rest of the Star Wars universe.

On what autority can you say that?

I know the Maul-story is a stretch, but unless it is stated that it, and all the other stories/paintings, are non-canon, I´m going to discuss whatever I want. Grievous got a blood-transfusion and had his mind manipulated by the Sith, he´s an artificial Sith, more or less.

Maybe Grievous still has his heart and that is what we are hearing. OF course that is just a guess.

That's as good a guess as anyone's. Very subtle, very cool foreshadowing if they are indeed the same sound.

*clears mind in preperation for Force Hearing*

edit - not that this has anything to do with Chapter 24. But. In 21, it sounds potentially like saber buzz - a more bassy 'WHOOP' noise, compared to the steady 'PIP' *thump* 'PIP' *thump* 'PIP' at the end of the trailer. Of course, it's hard to filter it all out, with the sound of his feet clinking as he runs, the gunfire, the bits of ship exploding, as well as the more obvious saber humming. Tentative at best, they do sound similar, though.

Chapter 24 is pretty awesome, anyway. The cave scene. . . @_@

No, not curious at all. Sounds exactly like the kind of shit the EU would pull to make money. Especially after all official comments on Grievous, such as from Pablo Hidalgo on Hyperspace, have said that he's NOT Force Sensitive.

So it is confirmed hes not force sensitive? I figured he had to be in order to smack down jedi like he does. Otherwise why wouldn't everyone build 'Jedi-Killer' droids?

From Pablo Hidalgo's Hyperspace Q&A thread:

"Q:Many fans think it's somewhat blasphemous to have a non-force user (ie Grievous) using lightsabers. Why is it he was given this weapon as one of his skills if he is not a Jedi or a Sith?

A:I think Grievous, thematically, was designed as an insult to Jedi sensibilities, and this has been played up in the EU with Dooku's thoughts about his underling. Whatever gets the job done. He can handle the weapon because his grotesque form is advanced enough to use it, albeit in a blunt, inelegant way."

Which explains how and why I've gotten over my original sentiments against it. :)
