In an interview with screenrant.com, The First Avenger Director Joe Johnston expressed his want to a Boba Fett-centric movie, with himself as the Director.
JOE JOHNSTON QUOTE:
“You know if he wants to see it, I would show it to him. I’m trying to get George to make a feature based on Boba Fett.”
EXCERPTS;
• Johnston began his career working as a storyboard artist for George Lucas – who recommended that the future director attend his own alma mater, USC film school, and continue to work for him. Johnston accepted the offer and went on to work for Lucas as a designer and visual effects art director on Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi.
• Johnston created the designs for some of the franchise’s most beloved characters and vehicles including: Yoda, the Ewoks, The Millennium Falcon, The X-Wing & The Y-Wing Fighters, The Imperial Snow Walkers, The Imperial Star Destroyer – and of course: Boba Fett.

When asked if he would direct the film Johnston said simply, “I would like to, it would be a lot of fun.” |
That would be awesome!! And if Marvel could get Verhoeven to do Deadpool, that might be great too.
I'm not holding my breath though. |

It could take place post-ROTJ after he crawls out of the Sarlaac Pit. |

I always thought this would be the best idea for the live-action series.
It would primarily follow Boba Fett as he comes of age in a galaxy adjusting to the new Empire. Lot of moral ambiguity-type of territory that could be explored. Think Smallville meets Star Wars, but with Fett in the place of Superman.
You have a popular anchor character known to fans, but not overexposed, not a Skywalker, someone who would have no reason to cross paths with a Skywalker, and there could be lots of side-stories told of other characters without sacrificing the central mythology. |

So you're saying there is a chance that Joe Johnston will be directing super-armed Velociraptors in Jurassic Park IV.
Sweet. |

| I wrote: | | I'm just not confident that Lucasfilm Ltd has the creative ability to put anything cohessive or meaningful together on-screen anymore. It's all very pretty, but on the profound level that the OT story works from, from EP I on part of me finds it all vapid and empty. |
Okay, so I'm being a little harsher than neccesary there. But I mean it in the most constructive way possible, I said 'part of me'. I think 'part of me' was maybe having an angry week last week. I still kind of believe what I said, but the imagery, design and execution of the PT is fantastic. It's the meat of the story that seems missing, in some ways. |

Johnston maybe is using Star Wars, specifically a new movie featuring Boba Fett, to draw attention for the The First Avenger film.
There is also going to be another Star Wars movie - in the form of a made for television, movie of the week - for the upcoming Live-Action Series. A series which may showcase Boba Fett.

Telling An inside story about Boba Fett always intrigued me, but keeping the character mysterious even more, maybe they could tell his story from a first person point of view , only showing him onscreen when taking out abounty or fighting in close combat, not to reveal much of his personal life.
The "integrations" story could be told in a way the viewer has to figure out for himself/herself what was exactly meant by a desintegration as to "were these the integrations Darth Vader was talking about", just to name an example.
So Boba could still have his story without destroying his so called "mystery".
As for the Life action series
I'd prefer the Rebel-side of the Star Wars story for a change, we've seen a lot of the Empire and the clones in the six movies.I would like to see more of the good side for once, them dealing with all the Evil in the Galaxy, the Birth of rogue squadron for instance, or a story about Bothans , or even rebels being lost out in the outer rim encountering the Yuzhan Vong for example.
More suspense than in the prequels.
They should work together with some japanese writers. |
