WINTER 2007

THE LIVE-ACTION SERIES

source: blogs.starwars.com

An hyperspace fanclub member met and interviewed Lucas at the New Year Roses Parade which was then posted on the fanclub members HyperSpace blog.

EXCERPT:

• the "screenplays" for the live action show will be written this year, and he hopes to get it on the air by 2009(!)

• the animated show is coming along great. George is very happy with the 3-D animation (think Toy Story), which he compared to Thunderbirds not in terms of the actual look but how that program had a style all its own.

THE CLONE WARS CGI

source: LucasFilm FanClub France

LucasFilm Magazine, the official fanclub magazine of France features an article about Lucas mentioning the upcoming series indicating Clone Wars 3D will air in 2008. The airdate of 2008 somewhat contradicts an MTV interview with Lucas suggesting an airdate of 2007.

EXCERPT:

"Though 2007 may mark the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars, the biggest Star Wars entertainment event of the year won't be found on the big screen. It will be the new Star Wars game for next-gen platforms. Hyperspace members caught this exclusive first look at the next major addition to the Star Wars saga."

STAR WARS.COM MEMBERS AREA PRICE SLASHED TO $14.95

source: starwars.com

Starwars.com members area "HyperSpace" slashed to $14.95 and no longer comes bundled with the Star Wars magazine Insider. HyperSpace was introduced at the $19.95 price point in 2003 after a trial balloon price of $9.95 was floated.

EXCERPT:

What about the Fan Club? Any changes in joining, benefits, etc.?

Hyperspace: The Official Star Wars Fan Club will continue to thrive, and will be adding benefits. The Club will focus on exclusives at fan events, like the extra day at Celebration IV and early admission to Celebration Europe (along with many other benefits); enhanced membership kits; and hopes to do more regional events exclusively for Fan Club members.

There also will be online benefits, such as content exclusives (Star Wars Insider Online Supplement, Bantha Tracks Online, for example), early access to select online features and functionality, an online membership kit of downloadable goodies, significant StarWarsShop discounts and exclusive buying opportunities.
