During Celebration II folks managed to smuggle out some of the footage shown. Let's hope the same thing happens again. :)

I remember getting the Spider-man Yoda commercial and the VFX reel.

That anamatics presentation sounds sweet, hope somebody nabbed it.

I don't remember what they showed on CII, but is there any chances that the stuff they're showing are the stuff we normally get on the Extra material for the other PT DVDs?

I think the whole 'troopers being sucked into space' shot was one of the first things heard about from the space battle.

From April 21-24, Indianapolis will host Star Wars Celebration III, the biggest Star Wars party on earth. Keep checking back here for the official coverage only starwars.com can bring, plus expanded coverage and bonus features exclusively for Hyperspace members.

I do hope they share my definition of " expanded coverage and bonus features"....

Lord knows that the Hyperspace coverage has been few and far between... for a good four hours during webcam "coverage" today, the camera was looking at a weird angle of a Jabba's Palace Kenner diorama.

Terrific interview. I've always been impressed with Ian, but his knowledge of the films and the depth of his responses was really excellent.

Highly recommend it.

Ah, memories. I think that was our first glimpse of the Yoda/Dooku fight.

So is McCallum's ROTS footage presentation Friday or Saturday?

I'm on the list to interview Lucas at Celebration III. I'll find out when I check in at the press station.

Anybody got any ideas of good questions?

Thanks.

awwww...he did say "kick ass." at one point. That's edgy for the official site.

He did say kick-ass fight. He used it as an adjective and not as an object of a prepositional phrase, so that's ok. ;)

Now, someone smuggle out the new Rick McCallum footage ASAP.

When Rick McCallum was doing his "spectacular" he showed video from ROTS. One of the quick snippets from this was of Ki-Adi Mundi on a snow planet. Maybe I have missed this in the past but is this Hoth by any chance?

The person who wrote it up mis-took the ash for snow. It's an ash planet.

Ah dammit. That really got my hopes up. Not that I really need Hoth to make this movie better but it was always my favorite planet.

I'm really interested to see that. If i'm not mistaken, the only pics that have come out for that particular planet, have been concept art.

Looks visually like a pretty cool concept.

I haven't read the screenplay, is Mygeeto where Ki Adi gets killed?

Mygeeto still is a crystal planet but they added the ashen characteristics to it as well.

And we can put to rest another debate...the running time is officially 2:11 (without credits I'm assuming) according to McCallum. Which would make it only four minutes shorter than AOTC which I thought was too long so it sounds good to me.

Was the running time confirmed by McCallum today at CIII ?

Not every single environment needs to be from the same planet, you know. Millions of stars in a galaxy, and all. ;)

Incidently, the brief pod-racer transmission in the Outlander Club (AOTC), used footage shot in Norway during the production of ESB. The planet the race was on is called Ando Prime and is a snow planet similar to Hoth. [/trivia] :)

random thought.

I don't know if there are any cuts from the Dooku duel to another scene and back, but if there is how cool would this be:

cut from Anakin/Dooku duel to scene of Grievous on the bridge, then cut to shot of a dogfight in the space battle just outside of Grievous' quarters. You can see the lightsaber fight from outside the ship, then the shot would cut back inside the room as the fighter exploded, spraying its parts against the windows of the room (seen from back inside the ship).

Me being inventive....

carry on...

Not being able to find an appropriate thread to post this in, this will have to do.

Having made a cursory look through the search function, i've not seen anything about a small plot hiccup that goes trans sage from the OT from the PT. According to the script, Obi Wan is clearly there when the twins are born, he's around when Bail takes Leia and delivers Luke personally to the Lars steadhold. Just curious as to why he made the statement to Yoda as Luke flew off after his training in Empire when he claimed that boy was our last hope with Yoda retorting that there was another. Having puzzled over this and not finding an appropriate thread I'm curious as how such a plot oversight managed to make it through, the apparent lack of knowledge in the OT that Obi Wan had that Luke was not in fact the last Jedi canidate.

Of course, maybe i've missed something entirely elementary.

Yeah, i know, an 05er, but i've been a lurker for a year or so and have enjoyed the content and presentation by the posters here. OK, enough ass kissing.

Ben really does not seem to think Leia can help. In ROTJ, he again says, "Then the Emperor has already won. You were our only hope."

There is nothing in the dialogue in ESB or ROTJ to suggest that Ben doesn't know that Leia is Luke's sister. He just feels that Luke is it, and that Leia can't do it. Or maybe it just hadn't occured to him. No big deal.

I guess I sort of figured that Obi-Wan assumed Leia would take after her mother and be a politician and not a force-user, while Luke would be more like Anakin and become a Jedi. Perhaps it was thought that with Luke being watched over by a Jedi (Obi-Wan) he would be more likely to be trained, while Leia would be with non-Jedi (Organas) on Alderaan. Certainly Yoda seems to have more faith in her Force abilities than Obi-Wan. WHile I think about it, it's never really explained why Luke thinks to ty and contact Leia through the Force in the first place in ESB (hanging off Cloud City), but that never bothered me.

I am glad that the footage shows, that Kid-Adi Mundi defends himself for a while until he gets overwhelmed by clones, which is a bit more honourful than in the script.
Damn, this is one of the times I wish I had hyperspace, but well, without a creditcard...

I just dl'ed the 'C3 celebrate the saga' clip from HS. (snippets from all six films cut together)

At the 2:20 mark the dialogue 'no there is another' implies Vader.

They're going crazy ...

But the interview with McDiarmid should be really nice to see ...

The 'celebrate the saga' clip was very cool - basically a trailer for the saga.

I'm betting they're not going to show any clips of new footage. You'd have to go to Indy for that.

Yeah that's most likely true. It also helps confirm that my decision to not renew the Hyperspace Subscription in June, is a good idea.
