Although I haven't heard this, just remember that what followed the main titles of both the TPM and AOTC soundtracks were edited in a way that was different than what was heard in the actual film.

I just listened to AotC and TPM:UE. There is a small part that is cut out at the end - but as you said, this could have been part of the next track.

The AOTC soundtrack's main titles go from the main theme to Kamino's theme.

and if you listen to the original TPM soundtrack, not the UE, it goes from the main theme to the Coruscant theme.

I'm anticipating this could be the case with this soundtrack as well, but from what you guys are telling me, it builds up to action....then again, that action could be from another part of the film and tacked on to the opening track.

I have a question. I've heard that Lucas continues to edit the Star Wars films to the wire. I was wondering, if that's so how does it affect scoring one of his films? When scenes are shortened or lengthened is the score edited also? How does that all shake out? I guess I don't know/understand the relationship between scoring and editing because it sounds like JW's work is complete while Lucas continues to affect changes. Any enlightenment here would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah it's edited. Compare some of the tracks on the original TPM soundtrack to the ones on the Ultimate Edition and you can see how they repeat and cut down certain sections.

There's also a full hour of music not on this soundtrack.

Something to keep in mind. Sometimes a major theme, or cue won't be on the soundtrack at all.

This is all news to me as I'm just a casual listener, I guess. So, why arent the soundtracks released as composed? Do the composers do the editing to their scores when a film changes or does the composer write all of the tracks and then turn them over to someone else for editing?

I hope that we're given a chance to get all of the tracks written for Revenge. By the reports posted here it sounds like it's going to be a most worthy edition to the star wars music cannon.

I disagree on the part about it being gradual - its not. It's there...no time for fade out, IMO. There is a few bars missing.

For those with the AotC Soundtrack, go to track 1.

The RotS credit ends @ 1min 16sec and a full brass, cheesy 1950's style danger/adventure motif hits straight away.

Well said. I hope they release an Ultimate Edition for ROTS. It's not needed for AOTC b/c of the editing(and insane amount of reusage of music)....

Ternian, is the last part of the End Title akin to ANH, ESB, or ROTJ?

ANH. It's really Leia's Theme and the Rebel Theme (where Leia hands out medals to Luke and Han).

Is the theme that plays when Luke goes darkside on Vader from ROTJ featured anywhere in the album?

I thought "Duel of the Fates" was supposed to be during the Palp/Yoda fight. McCallum or someone hinted at that. So for those worried it's not in this film, there's still a good chance. Since supposedly the Palp/Yoda fight music is part of the missing music.

So, how exactly did the fine folks at MF.com get ahold of the soundtrack? I find myself doubting Sony would send pre-release copies to this place

Very 80s Williams.

But I somehow feel this music could be used somewhere else...aka not the space battle.

Just a guess, but I'd like to be the first to say it

Wow. I love it! Very militaristic, and closer to the OT soundtracks than to the two PT ones. :heavymetal:

Wow....that opening is quite jarring. I can't picture that on screen sequeing so quickly into action.
