I hope someone posts it to Usenet.

I'm brand new to IRC, so I don't know much, but watch the lists of files as they go buy. That will tell you the numbers to use. There are several.

Look carefully at the Coruscant scene. Not only has the Jedi-Temple been added, but also the Galactic Senate!!!

DVD Rips don't have subtitles in them anywhere, usually. Its usually a seperate file in the DVD. The subtitle file will probably be available shortly.

I've just noticed something that I hadn't before. But there are no subtitles on any of the Jabba scenes. Does anyone think that this may be an early screener, and not the final DVD that will be in our hands in September? I mean surely they wouldn't forget to add Jabba's subtitles?

The sub titles are seperate, with a xvid you must load them seperatly, they are located on the number 405, join #nsane-chat and do !search Star Wars and it will show all releases, look for the 405 bot that has the xvid sample and with the xvid sample the subs are also in this package.

Also we have the SVCD on a bot also 188. Use the search command as stated above to find it. The DVD+R is out. But its a french release, meaning french audio only, it is a PAL R2 DVD, but the dvd was re-autherd into french audio, normally the english french and spanish would be on the real dvd. I been trying since the dvd+r released and I don't think ill be able to get this current french release. The indiaina jones boxset preed online 11 days before the offical retail date, we may get lucky and get a early boxset or pal boxset, but right now the french rotj dvd is the only one out.

Edit: If anyone wants help pm me on the irc network, im klownicle :) ill gladly send you the files needed :)

This IRC stuff sucks. Twice now for me the CD2 download timed out with just a few kilobytes left, corrupting the file. I'm hoping I can resume it. Back in the queue I go. :(

I'd be thankful for a torrent or usenet post.

The parts of Coruscant that are destroyed, get built up again, you know, just like in real life. Or do you think they just leave crumbled buildings lying in the street? ;)

The presence of the Jedi Temple basically confirms it isn´t destroyed, at least not totally...

just finished watching it and its amazing so vibrant lowry digital deserve an oscar or something for the clean up alone! though vaders saber does seem to be minus its white core quite a bit and a bit pink at times! other than that im not moaning and the hayden thing did work for me in the context of the whole movie (i did find it slightly jarring when played out of context but when followed by the celebrations it works better + the music helps too!)

How does the new Jabba work? Any other new scenes worth mentioning?

this is my first post here, I have been a long time lurker, but you guys seem to have your shit shtraight more than anyone else, especially with these ROTJ screen caps.

I have basically fallen out of my chair seeing these pics.

I'm not fluent in IRC downloads... any tips??

I for one am still on the fence about Hayden in ROTJ, I will probably need to see ROTS to see if it really fits in. All of the other pics that have been posted ROCK, and can't wait for the DVD any longer... any help on those downloads?

Hey guys. I downloaded the first half of this off mIRC and I cannot get any sounds. It says that the file uses an audio codec that is not recognized by DivX Player. I have the latest version of the player. Any ideas? It really looks great I must say.

A New Hope was definately avaliable, named 'Star.Wars.Episode.IV.A.New.Hope.DVDSCR.SVCD-EM-CD*' Now I wish I had infact downloaded the IV sampler to check the quality, but by the naming of the file it certainly appears to be Episode IV sourced from DVD...

I watched this last night using the TV out on my video card to put it up on the big screen.

Overall this thing looks damn good. Vader's light saber is definitely pink 95% of the time and there are still plenty of green boxes around x-wings and the falcon during the battle at the end, especially during the interior Death Star run. Growing up my friends and I always said there were no mistakes in Star Wars so those green boxes were simply a subtle representation of shields (or residual ION trails for the TIEs).

A lot of the scenes with Vader, Luke, and the Emperor have a green tint to all the blacks. I noticed this throughout the rip but its pretty subtle and others may not notice it. That being said its still pretty obvious that most of the AT-STs are green tinted. And since we all know there are no mistakes in SW we can just say that’s the green forest canopy subtly reflected in the cold Imperial steel.

They also seemed to have fixed the hole in the floor on the right hand side of the screen when Vader falls back down the stairs.

I'm most please though with the Rancor glow being removed and the glow around Luke and Han on the skiff being dramatically reduced. There's still some lighter edges around Chewy's fur but its a million times better than it was.

The sarlaac beak still looks hella cg tho.

McG

There is some weird shit with the lightsabers happening, I can't explain it.

Look at this shot from ESB and the LFL presentation at ComicCon. I didn't erase Vader's saber. It just plain disappears for a frame or so.

wtf?

Haven't noticed this either. There was one shot of the falcon that had a slight greenish tint to it, but that's the only shot I've noticed it. There's not telling. The only way to accurately judge color timing and rendition is on an ISF calibrated monitor or TV.

Don't forget that a computer monitor is going to use a different color scale than an analogue TV.

The ROTJ DVD-R is breaking now...

I'm not really in on the bootlegging scene, so just a bit of a question, is it sub-common for a DVD to leak over a month before it's official release, or is this just another example of Star Wars 'pushing the envelope'?

its common.

very common, for dvds to leak out this early.

a dvd+r is usually a exact duplicate of the retail dvd, with menus, and bonuses, etc... however they have to be split onto two dvd-r or dvd+r discs, as most groups dont release dvd+r dl (dual layer) yet, as there arent alot of dual layer burners out yet. Retail dvds are dual layer, most of them, so most ripped copies are ripped in the form of two images, one for each half of the disc

The first release of the ROTJ dvd, was in three svcd, super video cds. Which is compressed, and rencoded movie data from mpeg layer 2, (dvd standard) to mpeg layer 2, vcd, and svcd standard.

They release vcds and svcds first usually, as cd burners are way more common then dvd burners still, and many dvd players can play (s)vcds

The DVD-R will be a schrinked down version. Commercial DVDs are double the ones you buy now (9.4Gb or 4.7Gb). People have the videos from the DVD, this will a DVD with Menus and etc. But very basic, nothing special, no extras.

Hayden is not credited in the RotJ credits: http://www.fuckyouanddie.com/pics/60836930.jpg

The DVD-R is just breaking from the top tiers. Jesus, be patient people.

The difference is that the DVD-R is DVD-spec MPEG-2, not XviD.

Most dvdrs of late are exact duplicates, spead over multiple discs, menus and all. those sometimes certain audio tracks, and maybe commentary are excluded, but most other bonuses are included.

Well they needed him for Episode III ROTS, so they most likely recorded dialogue for this during that.
