This is the TV spot that spoiled the central mystery of the movie.

I disagree...the voice could be talking to Leia or somebody else....just because Rey is the main character shown in the trailer doesn't mean the voiceover is directed at her.

The clip from the previous trailer, where the saber is handed over....from what people are saying, that’s Maz Kanata who hands the saber over....it looks like its Leia who’s accepting it...if so, the narrative could be directed at her as Maz Kanata notices the similarities between her and Luke.

Remember how clever the voice over was used with Palpatine talking to Vader on the Revenge of the Sith trailer? That was taken totally out of context when you saw the full movie.

Saying "I know those eyes" doesn't mean I know them they are like your fathers. It could mean I know that look someone with the will and determination to stand against evil. If she was an orphan of unknown parents they would've released her name probably. I am still of the Luke daughter camp but possible leia but that line to me isn't proof.

You're right: it's not definitive.

I do think it strongly hints that she has heroic parentage. I know JJ is no stranger to misdirection but between the international trailer and this TV spot, it would border on trolling if the marketing wasn't trying to tell us that Rey is the offspring of a heroic figure in the Star Wars mythos. There are only so many of those.

Yeah that is how I interpreted it at as well.

Of course I'm sure there's more than meets the eye.
