I am liking that Phasma is undeniably female. She could easily have been James Earl Jones'd out of her voice.

Kylo Ren's dialog with Ren makes Luke and Leia's brief relationship tame.



From the Empire Winter Preview 2015 article it was revealed that Vader followers feel "the job" wasn't finished of which could possibly mean kill the last Jedi: Luke.

Plasma's dialog appears to order Finn to ignite a Jakku settlement:

I'm glad they went with an American accent for Finn. I had a feeling they would.

What if Finn is a clone?

Think about it. His call sign is FN-2187.

FN. Finn.

That sounds a lot like a clone designation, especially since he uses it as his actual name. To me, that seems to suggest that he doesn't have another name. His clone designation is his name. Remember, J. J. Abrams has already stated that it's completely intentional that we do not know Finn's last name. Maybe that's because he doesn't have one.

I wouldn't put it past the evil Nazis First Order to beef up their military using mass-produced Clonetroopers. (Except, unlike the Republic, they're probably using more than one DNA source.)

It could be fun to explore the idea of a clone defector in these movies. That's way more interesting to me than just having him turn out to be Lando's long-lost son.

Could I be onto something or am I just high?

FN-2187 reminds me of THX-1138. In that movie, LUH calls THX "Tex."

So FN could be a designation that is then verbally spoken as "Finn."

If it is the case, it would be a good way of honouring a concept of the PT.

Kylo Ren's lightsaber sounds more muffled chainsaw than lightsaber.

I like the chainsaw effect. Maul's had that a bit during the Obi-wan duel.

TPM had some fantastic lightsaber sound effects.

I don't think JJ is going to touch upon cloning in this film. My guess is the story will be Finn's family was killed when he was a baby and raised by the First Order as part of a child soldier program. The designation FN2187 was probably the only name he went by as a member of the First Order and when he turns he decides to go by Finn.

If they go in this direction and leave the question of his family open they can give themselves someplace to go with his character's arc in VIII and IX.
