Star Wars Rebels - How Season 2 Will Be Much Bigger

The fact that JEJ is now such a big part of this show amazes me. I'm thrilled they were able to get him, and even more happy that he's agreed to rejoin the Star Wars team.

Awesome to have JEJ on board, although honestly, I find his reads in the series so far a bit...weird. Maybe it's closer to the shouting and screaming Vader of ANH, whereas I'm more used to the cold Vader of ESB and Jedi, but it feels like Jones may not have really found Vader's voice yet. That said, Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk.

This teaser actually has me more excited than the TFA trailer does. I can't believe Filoni was able to basically tell Disney "yeah yeah, totally, we'll ditch all that Clone Wars, nasty prequel stuff that people hate, don't worry. Return on investment, no probelm." and then after a handful of episodes, basically jump right back into the story arc they were clearly working towards on Clone Wars.

THIS is the payoff to all the groundwork CW was laying - Ashoka placed in ideological opposition to Anakin. THIS is also the 'big picture stuff' I fear Abrams is not going to bring to his episodes - he can direct action, and can get decent performances out of his cast, but he's never once shown the capacity to handle thematic subtext. Can't. Wait. Oh, and Filoni NEEDS to be given an anthology film.

It was confirmed at the Rebels panel that JEJ will be voicing Vader in the series. And, yes, Witwer is Palpatine, though for the first time in an animated series - he voiced Palps in the two FU games, and did it well. If we can't have Ian on board, this is the best possible alternative I can imagine.

The critically-acclaimed animated series, Star Wars Rebels, is set to debut new episodes starting Wednesday, October 14 (9:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD.

There are rumors that episodes 2x01 and 2x02 (probably Lost Commanders and Relics of the Old Republic) are "mistakenly" leaked for Sky application in UK. Worth checking I think
