Looks like Batman. This isn't really a game changer.

I wonder if mo-cap will be incorporated in some way. Maybe the neck/moving his head dilemma can be solved while keeping that silhouette.

You know, I'm at the point with sheep films that as long as it's not a few excruciating things....I'm ok with it.

There's nothing in that image that makes me hate it. And I'm fine with that. The sooner we all learn that it's not going to be what's in our imagination, the sooner we'll all get over ourselves, and learn to like things again.

So we get a look at the new Batman. hmmm

Seems Batman isn't "Batman" enough for some.

FML. sheep. Just when I'd thought I'd heard everything.

Was he ever called Superman in Man of Steel? I can't remember. Or "man of steel" for that matter? There is no way you'd know this was the sequel to Man of Steel with that bizarre title

Something that's just occurred to me looking at that second picture that I hadn't twigged before, Bruce Wayne has access to a huge 3D printer!

Warner Bros.’ rumored DC movie roadmap seems a bit odd to me:

May 2016 – Batman v Superman
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

Not at all...sounds just like the desperate "BUY MY SHIT" schedule that I would expect WB to put out.

Shazam will be keen, it'll have Dwayne Johnson in it.
Sandman, if it gets the right writer *cough* gaiman *cough* will be fantastic
anything past that, is copy and paste from Marvel's plan.

There's something, well there's a lot, I just don't like about this movie. Like Amazing Spider-man, it feels like it's being done for all the wrong reasons.

I've never liked the Dark Knight Returns bat logo either.

Why can't someone just make a live-action movie inspired by the animated series / Arkham games? I've yet to see Harley, Clayface, Killer Croc, etc. It would be fresh but reverential.

Since all comic book movies are essentially a cash grab, they all are being done for the "wrong reason." Yet, good superhero movies still get made.

With this movie, Warner Brothers has already broken precedent with MOS. Meaning, they cast a successful bankable star at the center of the film and hired an award-winning scribe to polish the script. Given that the studio needs this movie to be good in order to set up the other DC films, I'll be surprised if they release a bad to merely okay film.

There's still a chance that this will happen. These games have generated a ton of cash and, at the least, some executive at Warner studios has to be acutely aware of that fact.

I will disagree.

I think, unless MOS 2 does horridly in the box office (let's say under 500 mil world wide (This is 200 mil less than ASM, which is considered a flop)) Justice League gets made.

DC/WB understand that there is NO WAY that their properties survive in the digital age without making a big screen splash. They're just going to have to accept that it may come as a loss early on, with the hope that they can finally get it right in the end.

Implicit in all moviemaking is the desire to make money. Making money and releasing a good product are not mutually exclusive.

A "cash grab" implies either a deliberate lack of quality or motivation to release a half-baked product simply to monetize IP. I believe another bad reason to make movies is simply to keep up with the Joneses. When that happens the product doesn't come from a place of creativity, it comes from imitation.

Nobody can argue that what Spider-man is trying (and failing) to do, is to imitate the world building approach of Marvel Studios because its success with the Avengers. You also can't dispute that DC is shoe-horning and accelerating Batman's return to the big screen (in a Superman sequel no less) to make the biggest possible splash it can to keep up with Marvel. It feels too soon. It feels desperate.

Disagree. DC's brand is nowhere near as tainted as it was at the turn of the century. Coming off of a heralded film trilogy, Batman couldn't be more popular right now. Lego Batman is entertaining kids in multiple mediums, DC is becoming a strong TV presence with Arrow (soon Flash and Gotham), and the Arkham game series is popular and well-received. They don't need BvS to be good in order to justify JLA: you and I both know the financing for that movie is signed in permanent marker.

Those are good points, Cryostar and CoGro. However (until I get concrete proof otherwise), I'm still going to be optimistic that this movie will be a First Class-like reinvention rather than first step towards the establishment of an empty Transformers-like franchise.

Has anyone found new info on the standard Batsuit? Even though it was shown in a full color image at Comic Con, I haven't read anything about it. Prior conjecture had it being gray and black. Based on the blurry image below, it might be all-black.

Lex Luthor’s plan in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ revealed?

Batman News wrote:
An extra who said he worked on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for 10 days contacted GeekTyrant with the following:

One of the scenes shot featured Batman breaking into Lexcorp to steal kryptonite, and apparently Lexcorp had somehow gotten ahold of General Zod’s body.

He went on to talk about the timeframe of the movie and where it picks up, saying that it starts “as the battle between Superman and General Zod ends or is ending (which would explain all the damaged buildings and vehicles we’ve been seeing in photos) and Batman/Bruce Wayne is attempting to make his way to the Wayne tower in Metropolis.”

That article was sent to me quite a bit over the past 24 hours, but I was a little skeptical… until now. Badass Digest is chiming in as well today, confirming the rumors from the GeekTyrant article and adding some new details of their own:

I can confirm this. Lex has been gathering pieces and debris from the World Engine and he has used them to synthesize Kryptonite. Meanwhile he has also gotten ahold of Zod’s corpse, and it is the key to his master plan to defeat Superman. He uses that tissue to… well, that would be spoiling. But Superman hasn’t been defeated many times in the past. You can probably connect the dots from here.

Doomsday? Bizarro? Metallo?

Thats from a fake script... dont think its real. Could be wrong... but, supposedly a guy names @sonofarrogance wrote a fake script and fooled a bunch of people, these scenes are in that script.

The new Batmobile is a hybrid of Burton's and Nolan's. Yet, it seems very much inferior to both.

Anybody see the official announcement of the DC film line-up? Apparently, there isn't going to be a standalone Batman or Superman film for awhile.

    - “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” directed by Zack Snyder (2016)
    - “Suicide Squad,” directed by David Ayer (2016)
    - “Wonder Woman,” starring Gal Gadot (2017)
    - “Justice League Part One,” directed by Zack Snyder, with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams reprising their roles (2017)
    - “The Flash,” starring Ezra Miller (2018)
    - “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa (2018)
    - “Shazam” (2019)
    - “Justice League Part Two,” directed by Zack Snyder (2019)
    - “Cyborg,” starring Ray Fisher (2020)
    - “Green Lantern” (2020)

Why they have a TV show and now a movie based on The Flash is baffling.

And it's not going to feature the same actor from the TV series either. I don't plan on checking out Gotham and I couldn't really get into Arrow but I like what I've seen so far of The Flash. Why they're not including their TV shows in their cinematic universe is also baffling. Has DC/WB given a reason why they're keeping them separate?

So was Justice League Unlimited when it was being run.

But DC and WB are going to ignore both of those, and Dark Knight Series to recreate the Geoff John's verse....

And they're going to do it in classic WB style, with DC quality story-telling....which will be just sad.

Gotham is worth your time. The quality of episode 1 is a little inconsistent. Episodes 2 and 3 are good and very dark at their core. The latest one - "Arkham" - is solid from beginning to end. The show's reinvented Penguin has blossomed into a very compelling character.

I agree that a Flash movie is overkill. I'd rather see the slot filled by a Martian Manhunter, Hawkworld, or Supergril film.

Supergirl would be a solid win....but they won't do that, they're following the Marvel model....Sub Avengers for JL in everything.

I like Gotham too, but it's already stated that it's not even going to be in the same universe as the CW shows, or the movies. Gives me no reason to care....like the Shazam movie.

I guess everyone is sleeping this news: ‘Suicide Squad’ cast revealed: Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Tom Hardy and more ....

The film could be awesome or a misguided mess. I appreciate the effort to do something a little different and hope for intelligent entertainment.

Nothing I've seen from the DC CU leads me to believe it would be anything but the latter.

However, I think Margot Robbie's casting at Harley Quinn is incredibly inspired. There couldn't be a more perfect casting. Her voice even sounds like Sorkin's. I hope they at least reference Quinn's traditional costume.

I think Will Smith as Deadshot will be played as wonderfully as he played the dad in After Earth.
I think Cara will be played like an idiot....
I think Tom Hardy as Flagg will be ok.
I think Jered Leto as the Joker is fscking Stuipd.

All in all, this will be your typical DC Movie mess.

See kids, nobody's perfect. Not even me. I do admit when I'm wrong, though and I certainly was about TDK.

I wasn't wrong about TDKR, which was a convoluted boring disappointment.
