Hello, dumb ass he was saying "Yes" to your question about General Lok Durd being voiced by George Takei.

Y'know, I'm a simple man. Riddled with hate and preoccupied with frustrations only broken and used-up old men can know, so maybe it's just me being not-smart here. But who was owning who in that last exchange? Because either I'm not smart enough to understand the ownage dealt by Mr J to the detriment of Mr Raveers, or Mr Raveers owned Mr J in such a simple and brutal manner that I'm not sure if it really works. I guess, in the end the two of them owned and mastered language at least, by putting together a duel of wit which has actually hurt my brain in my feeble attempt to decipher it.

I've just hurt my own feelings.

I just got home from Vegas. Surprisingly little Star Wars there. Trip report to follow, fyis.

Mr J has the dry, english sense of ownage. I doubt any of us Americans are refined enough to actually get it.

Iron Man wasn't that great after review. That scene where bald Jeff Bridges is a mech was gay.

While I will never value Harry Knowles’ opinion; I do find the following comment to be interesting:

Knowles wrote:
Hey folks, Harry here – over on YouTube – they have the latest GI JOE trailer up and frankly… I’m dying to see this trailer in the greater glory of Glorious Quicktime – but there’s flying motorcycles and crazy cool vehicles galore. Yes, none of this looks particularly real – but with the exception of specific costumes – it kinda looks an awful lot like GI JOE. I just want Cobra uniforms – and the cool ol Village People unique look of the JOES themselves. That said – I have a correspondence with a director. One we all collectively worship who told me that the film is made for the boy in us. And I can’t share that director’s name, but I can say he wants all the vehicles in this movie. And that’s as much of a clue as I’ll give ya. I’m now much more excited about this than TRANSFORMERS 2 – as the word on that is pretty awful at this stage”

He's a big flip-flopper (and one of the more superficial and inarticulate "critics" in the history of the Internet). So, it will never shock me to see his opinion change from positive to negative. But, at this point in the summer movie season, I am still surprised that he is making a seemingly positive statement about a movie he had already rejected.

I'm sure all it took was a bucket (or two) of chicken and a side of slaw from Paramount to change his mind.

Harry is a pretty cheap date.

In looking back, I think it has more to do with him attempting to buddy-up with the mystery director (whoever he may be) than any type of overt bribe.

Of the BIG live action SUMMER films – this is one that you should have quite a bit of fun with. But now I’m really curious how hardcore JOE geeks react – along with nubs. I do know that my Commie Liberal sister (if you think I’m liberal, you really have no idea how conservative I am by comparison) – she went in wanting to hate it as Militaristic Propaganda to program our youth to “Go JOE” – but instead she came out loving how science fiction it was.

There's a female Harry? And she’s a commie lib to boot? God, I'd love to get a gander at that train wreck. I'm picturing Rosie O'Donnell crossed with Howdy Doody.
