The butler scene was ridiculous. Not only should that have ended up on the cutting room floor, it should never have been in any draft of the script to begin with.

The second fight between Harry and Peter with no suits was great.

I thought this as well. That was one of the few scenes I thought were really good and Franco wasn't smiling like he's retarded and delivering lines badly. The dialogue and performances were spot on, from the drink line to Peter putting Harry down and slinging the bomb.

Out of morbid curiosity ET, since you hated the movie so much, I have to ask; why do you have an animated gif of a scene from it as your icon? Taken from what looks like a bootlegged download no less. I'm not trying to be facetious or anything, I'm seriously asking, cause normally most people tend to reserve stuff they really like for icon material. Unless it's for irony? Or something? Really confused here.

The avatar is from the telesync and it's being used ironically here because thats how we roll round these parts. Irony + piracy = MF. (The telesync maybe still available in the Spider-Man III Spoilers thread). In fact, I was going to request avatars from the Saturday Night Fever strut sequence and one from Harry's cocky wink sequence.

What worked in the movie for me was Black Spider-man versus Sandman, Black Spider-man versus the New Goblin, Gwen Stacy, and Venom. What didn't work was the bizarre three or four bar musical que "dun dun dun", the unecessary retcon of Sandman killing Uncle Ben, the park scene, and the butler scene. "Oh hey Harry, I forgot to mention in Spider-man 2 that Spider-man didn't kill your father: my bad".

The musical numbers completely were uneeded also. Mary Jane even sang at the end. Dark Spider's Saturday Night Fever strut was acceptable but the second darkside jazz number was too much.

3 should have ended with Peter-man and Mary Jane holding New Goblin with the sunset in the background. :spiderman:

Oh I just thought that scene was funny and the cake girl has been a running gag.

Things I liked:

Black suited Spider-Man in the fight with Sandman. Though the suit looked like ass compared to the comic Symbiote (the movie version was more grayish). There was a really cool moment where Spidey apparently kills Sandman and he says "Good riddance!" Also, when he was crawling around on the ceiling.

Peter Vs. Harry at the mansion. I thought Franco was atrocious for the most part. Post head injury, he came off as retarded and had this annoying as shit grin. Not to mention he was in one of several embarrassing dance sequences where I wanted to hurl. In this scene though, he really sold the role. The dialogue was awesome. I loved the bit towards the end where he's on the floor and Peter says he was an embarrassment to Norman and laughs at him. The crowd was really into it here and the interplay was great.

Bruce Campbell as the French waiter.

Peter yelling at his douchey landlord about the damn door.

Aunt May not talking to Peter for obscene amounts of time about absolute bullshit.
