This was already taken down from AICN at Sony's request so it's pretty legit probably. They also had sandman and green goblin 2.0 art but we pretty much know what they look like

I really like that look for Venom. Very nice.

But the GG2 look is not working. And the glider/snowboard is really a debacle.

Well that is just concept art after all, not the final "product" so to speak. I'm glad that they are keeping the glider from the original Spider-Man for Harry in Spider-Man 3.

I don't think he's using his Dad's glider, Raveers.

Go back and look at the teaser trailer and compare it to the photo. Harry is just standing on it in a way that makes it seem like the other glider, but it isn't. It's this new snowboard one. He seems to stand on it in two different ways - lengthwise and widthwise.

Got a bigger, better shot of Harry for easier comparisons.

Yeah, that's pretty weak looking for a villian. Unless you have a phobia about snowboarding. Then, perhaps it's terrifying.

Ugh well if that is gonna be the design for his glider....I honestly don't like it then. I think they should have kept the same glider from the first film. The new suit I'm diggin' a little bit but again would have perfered the original...

Well, we should know more with the trailer on Thursday. Hopefully there will be a closer shot of it in motion.

Fan art of Harry wearing his dad's mask.

I'd like Harry's real look a hell of a lot more if he had a hood covering his head.

A bigger shot of Venom:

Nice shot of Venom.

As far as Harry goes, I agree with you on that one Hade. Hell that fan made one with the original Goblin mask on looks fucking awesome. Would have been better if they had done it like that.

EDIT:

Spider-Man 3 Trailer Annoucement

Spider-Man fans will get a long-awaited sneak peek at Columbia Pictures' highly anticipated motion picture Spider-Man 3 when a new, full-length, two-and-a-half minute trailer debuts in a special unprecedented "road block" across Viacom Inc.'s brands and on the CBS Television Network on Thursday, November 9, at approximately 10:00 pm. Tonight? You mean tomorrow night right? According to ComingSoon.net it's being aired tomorrow (Thursday) night.

Edit: Also according to the Coming Soon.net article..

Quote:
Immediately following the television premiere, a high-definition version of the trailer will be available exclusively on MTV Networks' IFILM.com.

Hope someone can manage to download it and share it here. That would fucking rock. :heavymetal:

Very cool...

I still think Spidey's CGI isn't great, but whatever.

I don't like the fact that the symbiote suit is actually clothing and not part of him, but I guess that idea was too much of a stretch for Raimi, who included a villain who's molecular structure can transform into sand.

I hope it doesn't suck as much as the others.

I thought those two were good films I definitely can't wait for Spider-Man 3.

Spider-man 2 was an SNL skit disguised as a superhero movie.

The first film was a good start, minus go go power goblin.

Honestly, and don't get me wrong, because I swear I am a spidey fan, but the first two films, when compared to all other cinema, did kind of suck. Be it the alterations of the existing history to little or no better effect, or Toby Maguires mildly unlikeable portrayal of Peter Parker, there are definately legitimate criticisms to be made as there are in every film.

I however still appreciate the effort (neither one is as bad as the last HULK movie, at least) and I'm excited to see the next one, winter x-goblin and all. But thats because I remember the dark times of live action super hero adventures. Namely, the 1970's.

I'm only critical because next to Star Wars, I was an enormous Spider-man fan. I must have $250,000 worth of spidey comics...

What's more, the symbiote saga basically captured my imagination in a way that no other story ever has. If they screw this one up, it sucks double time for me.

Seeing Mary Jane getting tossed from the GW bridge in SM1 in Gwen Stacy's place (and survive) basically tore my heart out. That moment is second to only Uncle Ben's death in 'the most important moments in Spider-man history'

I can handle changes from book to film....I even thought the organic webbing was a half-decent idea considering you had one film to establish the origins and make it fun, but ruining the lore and changing the mythology is rediculous. It's like seeing Episode 3 only to find out that Anakin wasn't Darth Vader....Vader was a clonetrooper or some bullshit.

Woah, is the CGI poor!

I wonder, if they saved a lot of money not hiring a better company to do it.

I'm on a closely monitored network at the moment (medical center), so can anyone check on these file sizes? Thanks!

Thanks! The 1080p links didn't work though.

Decent looking trailer. As to the crappy quality CGI, wasn't that the whole idea of making the Spider-man movies "comic like". I mean, I would rather them look real, but I can understand the idea.

I think the effects look great. Who's to say a guy in a spider suit punching his fist through a man made of sand wouldn't look like that in real life??

My gripes are mostly about the quality of the animation. And while the sand-guy doesn't look very good, the most annoyingly bad special effect (as in the previous movies) is Spidey himself. Animation doesn't have to look exactly like real life motions to look good, especially if everyone in the audience knows it's "not real" anyway. The basics of good animation are the same regardless if you're doing an caricatural animated movie or CGI characters for an superhero-action movie. You have to get the effect of weight, timing and dynamics of changes right and for that you need real, experienced animators.

And I don't think this goes against the "comic book" style. For me some Spiderman comics looked almost like cells taken from an animated movie, even if a highly unrealistic one in regard to some physical laws. For example in McFarlane's Spiderman from late eighties and early nineties. I thought the expression of dynamic movement in those images was amazingly powerful. Of course this is not a standard or even a goal for comics. There is for example some early Fank Miller stuff, that while I like a lot as comics, I can't imagine how it would be possible to make animation around those strange, stiff poses of characters supposedly in motion. But which of the two approaches is better for a movie, I ask you.

yeah, it looks like ILM is really the best company out there.

the first and second films were fun, but were never really amazing. this third one looks like a darker version of the second one. i'll see it.

Sandman's CGI looks find from what I see...it's just spidey himself. He's always looked poor though.

And to clarify, the budget on this film is around 300 million, so it's not like they cheaped out, Sony just sucks. Actually, more hit or miss.

YouTube now has the Comic Con footage up with a clear picture. Be advised, all of the Spider-Man work is incomplete and more cartoony than the actual trailer. But, it does have Venom at the end.

It appears that Elfman is working on Spider-Man 3 after all with at least the Spider-Man themes for Chris Young to use for his score. Here is the article

Quote:
'Phatmaster' pointed out that Spider-Man 3 composer Grant Curtis revealed an interesting bit about the music in his latest Blog update:

Hey SHH! I was just glancing over the Spidey 3 blog earlier reading Grant Curtis' new post, and responding to a comment about the music it seems like he confirmed that Danny Elfman is actually working on Spider-Man 3...

Hi Grant, thanks for paying attention to us, your blog is a great idea. i had questions about the music, but i didn't know where to ask them, so i do there. Will Christopher Young use the main theme created by Danny Elfman at the beginning of the first two movies? Or will he compose a new one? Has the work on music started? Thanks, hope you'll answer me.

Tim, Danny and Chris Young are both working on the picture. We have yet to start actively working on the music, but we will start soon. Thanks for the questions. Grant

The music has been subpar in this series anyway so it doesn't matter to me either way.

Just a reminder that FX Network is showing the Spider-Man 2 Director's Cut at 7:00 PM on January 2, 2007.

It is airing just before the premiere of Courtney Cox's new show called DIRT.

It's going to run from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM EST and they're going to have some Spider-Man 3 stuff to go along with it. It's probably stuff we've already seen, but you never know.

Raimi has long talked about this cut which was being called Spider-Man 2.5...
http://dvd.ign.com/articles/556/556404p1.html

...and now it looks like it's for real. It is coming out on DVD in April 07 to help hype Spider-Man 3.

Seriously Raimi needs a beating for shoving Sandman, Green Snowboarder, Gwen Stacy, and Venom into one movie. Thats on top of what Raimi did to the Symbiote-Venom suit.

I guess Venom's molars look aight :(
