Hounestly it wasnt that good, after all of the 'omg its amazing' posts I was expecting something better. The music was top-notch, very well done there FB but the editing was average at best, the video had no flow to it at all, it jumped straight from movie to movie ignoring the storyline it may have had a rough bit of the storyline in there but it was very faint. I was expecting something along the lines of the LOTR SuperTrailer showing the storyline of each of the films in sequence...

Oops. Did somebody say something about a mirror?

I can keep it there for a while. Kudos to those involved!

BrotherTheFirst: What work! The trailer was genuinely great. Especially the cross cutting of thematic and/or visual parallells (the stroking of Anakins cheek for example); it seems you had a LOT of work put into this. The music was perfect. Excellent.

thecolorsblend: thanks for the mirror.

Too bad your expectations had nothing to do with their goal. It's the best I've seen. Wait until you see what's next.

please learn to read first. between the 'omg posts' it says we decided to go in a different direction than a storyline.

That was pretty good. One of the best I've seen. :)

It really shows how crappy a movie Episode II is...

How do you know that? Seems a bit late to be cracking down on this board.

Someone with an ip connected to that domain "downloaded" my avatar (i e opened a thread containing one of my posts) which is situated on my private server. I found the ip in the server log and looked it up using a network tool.

Interesting after watching again. The only flaw I would see would be the final montage of characters beginning at 2:34. If it had ended with the Qui-Gon smile it would have been perfect. The last shot of Ani grabing for Dooku's saber leaves me hanging.

As far as what else is in store... It's something on a larger scale.

It's pretty amazing. During just this day - 7th of July - there's been over 100 unique download request for the trailer on my server. None from US Courts though...:)

This thread was revived yesterday after a ten day period of inactivity. It's not that surprising that a lot of new people are "discovering" the trailer.

Hey go spend three hours downloading that other trailer that can be found in the trash. Maybe that is what you are looking for. Why do you have to troll around and make trouble bringing up some stupid sh!t from two weeks ago?

You didn't like it fine others did so :vfuckoff:

Hey guys great stuff. Some of the edits really impressed me. One in particular was Darth Maul passing into Palpatines Shuttle. Something strangley poetic about that.

But I was thinking about putting a trailer together of my own. But I'm having trouble getting some editable footage. Now I have dvd rips of all three prequels but they are in divx and the audio doesnt come out in my nle. I havent had any luck finding a way to convert the footage or even extract the audio. If anyone can help me I would be very greatful. Thanks again and great job.

Some programs that might be usefull are:
- YASAVOB2MPEG
- WinAvi Video Converter

The first one (like the name says) converts .vob files to .mpeg files.
.vob files are ripped dvd files on your pc (like you probably know already).

WinAvi converts any video format to another. RM, Quicktime files, MPG, Avi you name it. It converts it to any format you want. Very handy!
Look for it on Google, Torrents or Peer2Peer programs.

What did you use to rip the DVD and edit the trailer?

Great trailer. Similar to something I did two years ago in my film class although I didn't have access to all the DVD's so I had to use VHS's which sucked because the OT wasn't out yet ahh.

sorry, system up/down for the past while. hopefully this still helps.

Auto Gordian Knot was used most in the process (converting DVD scenes to .avi). Adobe Premiere was used to cut portions from the first two and the ROTS trailers (no DVD at the time). Also, used AP to piece the trailer together with sound.

Plus a couple of smaller coverters to flip the trailers in to .avi/divx format (from Quicktime). Can't remember specific program names but any generic one will do the trick.

note: Stay away from Quicktime like the plague. First attempt at trailer left a yellow/rusty/pee tinge to the video.

hope that helps.
