ok, well my download finally finished, but everytime I try to play it(i use windows media player) the same error message comes up-

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

is there a different program i should play it with, or do i need to change the codec? If so, how? Help would be greatly appreciated.

if it's the svcd, you want the mpeg2 codec.

if it's the xvid, you want the xvid codec.

divx etc

when you ask if its the xvid, svcd, or divx, do you mean which program am I trying to run it with?

edit: all I know is that its a torrent file and none of my media players can recognize it.
