Over at TFN, when "First" revealed the changes, he claimed they fixed the Death Star Corridor (which we know they did from that footage for the DVD or comic con or something) but in the picture he posted, it is not fixed. Whats up with that???

It is fixed, can´t you tell the new corridor from the old one with the lame matte painting? This one looks like it actually goes into the picture.

No it hasn't. This picture is straight on, you wouldnt be able to tell anyways. The fix was suposed to get ride of the white void at the end of the corridor. This picture is no different at all than the SE or the Original.

Don't you see the same white thing at the end of the corridor? That it's not in the final DVD release. So, DF DVD is a WIP one. I'm getting tired of repeating the same thing again and again all over the net.

But don't you notice the perspective has changed? Yes, you can still see the white void but the corridor actually goes back in a straight even line into the white void unlike the original.

Actually the shots you campared Thunderbird were different shots. The Original one which you have is a split second before the "New" one. But both of those images are in the Originals and SEs.

That's another nail in the coffin of the naysayers.

R2's eye is still red. I always assumed this was just the color of the plastic used on the droid model to allow Kenny to see out without us seeing in, like in ANH.

First... i now believe that you do have the DVD's. But do you have the cases and all, and do the DVD's have something on the disc or are they just plain discs. Is it possible at all that these DVD's are works in progress released to be almost a teaser or a anamatic? I mean, it has the "physical changes done, and it is digitally enhanced very well, but mabye they just havent gotten around to the effects yet, and that was when your DVD's were made.

Just a glimmer of hope would rise my spirits.

Serafin, they are FINISHED, they are NOT work-in-progress. Sorry but I can't reveal anything about where or how I got them. They are the finished REAL DEAL. Enough about work-in-progress guys.

Yes that clip from Vader's birth is the lost shot from the Vader documentary on Disc 4. You see Hayden as Vader, followed by Ian, walk up some stairs to the set, then cuts to that shot.

I have no problem with the CGI Yoda. It makes sense that he would look a little different some 25 years earlier. I think the biggest difference is that he seems much more filled out. Like his face is almost a bit bigger than the ESB puppet. And it makes sense for him to be like this because you put him on some deserted planet, start making him eat all the organic material around him and probably eat less than he used to he would look like the puppet of ESB. He cant look the exact same. Its not realistic.

Why is the copyright still 1997 and Why is Clive Revill still credited for being the voice of the emporer?

Ha, definitely WIPs if that's indeed the case.

Bob, I dont think anyone here is going to believe you unless you show proof. DarthFirst just happened to do so, so me as well as many more are going to side with him. Come back with some proof and you might just have an arguement to give, otherwise, actually I just lost my trail of thought....My point is, get ready for people to not believe you.

Bob, (you probably won't read this but whatever) if no FX were touched up in the versions on the net, how do you explain vaders white lightsaber being changed to red at the end of ANH? That pic DF posted is definetly not 'photoshopped'.

Unless Lucasfilm only got part way through touching up the FX before they shipped the movies to Lowry.

Fuck, and why would they post that shitty pic of the crossing sabers in ROTJ on the OS?

I dunno man.

The sad part is that Serafin thought he was going to get away with it. Didn't realize that nobody is as fucking idiotic as he thought, I guess.

Nobody has been talking about what's truly important in a DVD transfer when it comes to picture quality. Firs tthings first. How about the blacks on this edition. My DVD copy is undoubtedly compressed, and the blacks still look phenomenal. Much better than my VHS widescreen copies. I have watched bits and pieces of this a couple of times now. Looks like its the real deal to me. Everyone bitching about Vader having a pink saber, have you watched this movie? If you have, you obviously don't know what the hell you're talking about. The saber effects have a tremendous amount of noise reduction, meaning they look tighter and less blury, along with the entire print for that matter. I think the colors are phenomenal. I think Vader's saber has always looked pink in certain places and scenes throughout the galaxy. When watching saber effects, it's important to look at what is behind the saber because that can truly determine the color it is giving off. In the case of Return of the Jedi, the room of the final duel is mostly black, but there are some very gray spots throughout the room. These spots are what cause the saber color to turn pinkish at times. It's really not as bad as some people are making it out to be. I think the people in here who do not understand that this edition was not taken from the original negatives will in the end be disapointed. You're talking about a film that is 21 years old, and it looks like it could've been shot yesterday with the amount of touch up that went into this. For christ sakes, it's Lucas. Here's the last thing I'll say. I do expect that the Original Trilogy will be getting redone sometime in the future. It's a wellknown fact that Lucas has the original negatives for all 3 films locked in an air-tight vault of some sort. I expect that these negatives will be given a digital grade, somewhat similar to Lord of the Rings was given. A digital grade is basically a machine that imports your negative, allows lighting and coloring to be touched up, and then is outputed back onto negative. An amazing process for sure, especially with the Kodak 5279 film stock. Anyways, from there, they will take this newly enhanced negative, and import that into the computer for editing. Now they will have a brand new negative to apply all of the special effects to (including any saber effects that they want). Just my two cents, but in my opinion, we haven't seen the last of the changes, but this DVD of Return of the Jedi still looks like a great, quality tranfer from Lucas.
