The Secret Life of Novelizations (feat. Alan Dean Foster)

Yesterday, WNYC broadcast a segment by On the Media producer Jesse Brenneman on the genre of movie novelizations (or "media tie-ins"). The original Star Wars novelization ghostwriter (and author of the first EU novel, Splinter of the Mind's Eye) Alan Dean Foster was interviewed for the piece. I recommend listening to the whole thing. It was well-made and gives you a glimpse of what goes into adapting screenplays into novels.
