The Presidio Trust majorly dropped the ball here. Even after Oakland and the city of San Francisco petitioned to have him stay in the Bay, Lucas' art exhibit will open in Chicago in 2018.
What could have been an hour drive for me has become something I'll probably never see in person.

I've been meaning to express my utter joy about this since I am less than an hour away from Chicago
Sorry Topeka, and anyone else who feels too far away. You should really come visit, I don't know exactly where it's going to be, but walking the streets downtown you get a very Coruscanty vibe. If you come in the winter, you will hate it. And don't mean mug ANYONE or get loud because people will shoot at you.
