"Random House has announced, so now I can: The Making of Return of the Jedi is a go. Starting research next week... Pub date: fall 2013" ![]() ![]() ![]() pic1 pic2 pic3 Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss gave his thoughts on the announcement. "This was really a no brainer. Jon is going to get started with all the preliminary research pretty quickly. We’re planning on publication of the book, which should mirror the hardcover packaging of the first two, in October 2013.". ![]() |

I have both the Making of ANH and ESB, and I am really looking forward to picking this up as well. However, I wonder if JW Rinzler is going to "reissue" new/longer versions of the Making of TPM, AOTC, and ROTS? |

I hope so, compared to the OT books the PT books are kinda slim ![]() |

Glad to see this finally announced. Rinzler once made a comment, and I can't source it at the moment, that he would like to give each film this expanded treatment. Each volume would be dependent on sales of the last. |

I follow Mr. Rinzler on twitter, and he has made such comments on a couple of occasions. This is FANTASTIC news! The ANH and ESB volumes are brilliant pieces of work, THE definitive statement on how those two films were made. I cannot wait to get the ROJ book in my hands!! |

![]() ![]() Why? I have the Mythmaking book of AotC (which is pretty good), but I hope to get a bigger volume like these for each prequel. |

The AOTC book did have some excellent information, but I always thought it was too graphic-dependent. It took away from the substance that went into making the film. It swung the opposite way from the TPM book, which had very little in terms of photos and graphics. Since Rinzler took over these Making-Of books, each one has gotten better than the one before. |
