Quote: ROTJ is flawless as far as picture and sound quality is concerned. As this was the last film of the OT to be made, it obviously looks the most modern and could have indeed been "made yesterday". I disagree totally. RotJ has always had the most noticable blue screen effects of the trilogy and, even with the current fixes, the blue screen in the speeder bike section is very obvious. Quote: And the most contentious addition of Hayden... does technically work... i.e. nobody but the fan would know that it's a digital alteration.
Again, I disagree. The effect is sloppy. The head wobbles around and has an obvious digital frame matching appearance to it. I can fully understand why people thought it was a fake. This is even more apparent with the high quality picture. Sloppy. Dogg. |

You can tell that the end sequence is going to be redone at a later stage... ![]() |

Thought the Hayden cut/paste looked dodgy, but now it seems fine... I hate the pink sabers and lack of colour in the final moments of the Death Star's life... I LOVED that scene! Some of the explosions look very dull, and the shot of the Falcon facing the ISD fleet and the Executor looks dull and then the deeper blue metallic sheen of the Executor suddenly appears while the Falcon is pulling away :S Other than those, the rest of the film is great. |

Hmmm, maybe it's because I've done similar cut and paste jobs in my work that it stood out so much but I couldn't miss it. I still haven't heard a reason why they didn't replace Shaw's entire body which would have been easier for ILM and also much more seamless. One thing I am impressed with is the removal of Shaw's eyebrows. Whether they should have done it is a different issue but the effect is flawless and would have been tricky to do. Dogg. |

Actually I've never tried doing celeb pr0n but a co-worker of mine learned his skills that way. He's very good at it. I wonder how many people at ILM started out that way... Dogg. |

I think they saved a lot of work doing it this way, since they didn't have to assemble and reconstruct the background plate which is visible through Shaws body. |

You could well be right but I'd be stunned if there wasn't a bare shot of that plate knocking about Skywalker Ranch, and it would only have had to have been done once per shot rather than matching every frame, as with the head. Dogg. |

And by the way, does anybody know what the hell they were trying to cover up on the Emperors head? It's obviuos they were trying to hide something, but I'll be goddamned if I can figuire out what it is. |
