Samples below in 720p. These are samples from the torrent. I do not have the full mkv in my position so do not ask for specific locations.

Episode.4.A.New.Hope.1977.BluRay.720p.DTS-ES.2Audio.x264-CHD.Sample
Episode.5.The.Empire.Strikes.Back.1980.BluRay.720p.DTS-ES.2Audio.x264-CHD.Sample
Episode.6.Return.of.the.Jedi.1983.BluRay.720p.DTS-ES.2Audio.x264-CHD.Sample

As we wait ... 720p edition is 41.59% id expect it to start making the rounds tommorrow along with the 1080p that night. Im still not going to pop my cherry till the ISO's.

These look devastatingly similar to the HDTV releases from 09.

I think i may be one frame off in my those screens which would explain the difference in the saber color.

Blu-Ray seems a bit lighter and a bit more grain.

The sabre obviously still has a green hue despite mentions on the official site saying they fixed such issues:

It's still a green sabre in the clip maybe they only fixed the one shot! I know its nitpicking but the guys who made it should ... well youu know! Other than that the picture quality looks fantastic.

thx Klownicle I don't suppose you have any CHD invites spare do you (always wanted one im just a lowly hdbits guy!).

This is as notable as the Ewok's CGI-eye replacement.

It's going to be interesting to see how many keep their 2006 German HDTV copies in lieu of this set (or for that matter their upscaled 2006 OUT copies).

Yes no reason for them not to be especially as Jedi has a change in the sample. CHD are a genuine release group and usually get stuff way in advance.

It's the real deal and also HIGHLY unlikely that its a pre release version - so I'm betting that one shot of the green sabre has been fixed but they missed the other shots. :(

I'm having a hard time believing that, regardless of the errors of the 2004 DVD. Could be that the screenshots shown here are inaccurate, even if the rips are of the actual Blu-Ray.

It looks exactly like that screenshot in the sample file. So I would also say they just missed it.

NEWS FLASH: they both shoot first!

It's now a split second shot same ricochet but no han movement literally blink and you miss it (scratch that i think its the same as the dvd im just more used to the slower 97 version!)

Ponda Baba arm is the same.
Sabre is blue in the shot from the site! Then green and a very pale blue!
Jabba: same
Mos Eisley: same

Anything else to look out for? I don't have sound yet.

Bizarre. Is there still a jump-cut when Luke turns the lightsaber on in that scene?

I've made this picture when the trailer was released, but could you check if that X-Wing shot in the middle has been fixed (a.k.a, been given an engine glow)?

Yeah the new Krayyt Dragon sound - it does sound more human - it also sounds shit and like a teenagers voice rather than an old man.

That just seems so odd. They make Ewoks blink, fix the 2-headed Pod-Racer Announcer's hand movement that nobody ever noticed, but don't smooth out a jump-cut? :what:

I'm still taking this rip with a grain of salt. I'd rather wait another two weeks and see the full-blown Blu-Ray on my plasma display, then nit-pick stuff that was changed, corrected, or not.

A couple hours in After Effects could produce some fill-in frames to fix those cuts. But don't worry, there are three stages of quality control for this set.

And for the record, Lucasfilm (because we know you read this), I preordered this set the day it went up on Amazon and still plan on paying. I also bought the 2006, 2004, 1997, 1995 and 1991 releases. Please consider that before pursuing a copyright lawsuit, thanks.

They didn't fix a lot of obvious saber bullshit like the fucked up videogame looking sabers in the cave, Vader's pink saber in the freezing chamber, etc.

In the most key moments of these movies I'm going to be thinking about how incompetent LFL is.

The DVDs ruined the quality of the OT far worse than the SE. Give me 100 new scenes - hell, have Han fuck Jabba - just don't screw with the colour timing and tinker with original sound FX. It's cheapened the quality of the films SIGNIFICANTLY.

I was wondering about that. Luke's saber doesn't look fully green here, but the glow around the blade has a greenish teal tint:

Again, my Panasonic plasma display, Blu-Ray player, HDMI and the legit BluRay discs shall decide in about two weeks. :monocle:

Can you put me out of my misery regarding the opening (the flyover, not the reverse angle) shot of ANH? Re-roto'd lasers or same DVD bullshit?

Is Empire still suffering from crushed black levels (for a great spot to check, the begining of the introduction to the Imperial fleet - there's a star destroyer in the mid-BG with half the hull in shadow.

In the OUT you can see the detail, it's just shadowed, on the DVD everywhere there is shadow is just black which blends into the starfield, no detail at all). Thanks!!!

It's JEJ there is a quiet no as he turns away from Palps then as he turns back and picks him up the longer noooooo comes.

I think its a different one from Sith but still isnt needed my girlfriend even commented "well that was new" and she is a more casual viewer!

Got all 3 OT now anything you would like me to check out?

Oh fucking hell. :vsuicide: So much for Anakin's quiet, internal struggle. The way the scene was edited, it was already all right there, despite the fact that you're looking at a mask. The sequence perfectly conveyed the emotional struggle and final resolve.

And, PJVader, see above. Can you check out those two things? And can we call the Greedo scene the same? Cheers!

Guys remember Matthew Wood did state there was a lot of unused dialogue that they found with the original masters for the film. So it's possible for the Vader scene in Jedi that was just an unused dialogue and dropped at the last minute.

... because it made Vader sound like a little bitch.

I just had a look at a couple of screenshots in photoshop. Soooo ... instead of a horrible blue cast, we've now got a magenta and yellow shift. Hooray. And I'm going on record now as saying that Wickets' eyes are fucking terrifying.

Lucasfilm is here all day everyday - even during the darktimes of no major content release. There are also at least two registered members of Lucasfilm here.

Given that we spend tens of thousands of dollars on Star Wars action figures, vehicles, and now Sideshow Statues - our activities maybe "tolerated". I also like to think LFL is enjoying the show (storm) that arises before any major release.

Then again back in early 2002 my Attack Of The Clones spoiler site was seized by them: http://whois.domaintools.com/darthpsychotic.com

Oh, and if LFL is in here, then, hey guys, I just realized I DIDN'T delete the OT HDTV rips, for exactly this reason! Huzzah! So fuck you and fuck this set, I'm cancelling my preorder.

The OT transfer is shit, no one gives a crap about the prequels (I'll happily live with my DVDs) and you aint getting my hundred bucks. And let me guess, around the time of the 3D release we'll be hearing about how in 2011, while state of the art for its time, there wasn't the techniology to properly present the films?
