SPLIT FROM THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY THREAD

Just a quick side check here: They have changed the tractorbeam-switch in ANH to Aurabesh, but NOT the numerals on the X-wing targeting computer screen!? And NOT the numerals on the "Death Star approaching the moon of Yavin"? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? There just MUST be a "definitive version" released in 2007 (30 year anniversary of ANH) were all these "little things" like the numerals finally will be fixed. Or do they the same in the starwars universe as we?

If not, I'm waiting for an official appology.

But one thing that always has bothered me is the scene in ROTJ when "The Executor" chrashes down into the Death Star. It's SO obvious it's a miniature! The explosion... It's just not the kind of explosion, well more like "chaotic-explosion" one would think such an enormous ship would cause. And the scene it self is so... completely cut of from the rest of the action going on just seconds before we see it crashing down.
I understand it's still the same?

I have always hoped it could be more like a gigantic collision, and that "The Executor" brakes i two when it hits the Death Star (like Titanic", causion devastating amount of damage to the Death Star. A much more dramatic scene, so to say, wich would look breathtaking up on the big screen with flames, fires, and just plain chaos.

But maybe that would never change.

I bet if you wrote George Lucas a nice letter he would change it just for you.

Did you ever stop and think that maybe those numerals let the audience know how close the target is and is therefore important to drama of the scene?

Yes, but it can be done so easily without the countdown. We can still see Yavin moving closer to the firing range on the same screen. But of course there can still be something looking like some sort of countdown, but in Aurebesh numerals. Like the small screens in Anakins Pod Racer in Ep. 1, which showed all kinds of Aurebesh signs and other symbols. Along with blinking signs and symbols in different colours we understood perfectly well what was going on.

Yes but our numbers are meant to be a part of Aurabesh, just not our letters. Look at the number on the updated Tractor Beam controls, you can seen a 12 there still. clearly

"How is that possible?" :)

Allright, I know this must be one of the most annoying disbutes going on here, but there are none of our numerals in ESB or ROTJ. Like when the rebels spot the AT-AT:s on Hoth through some sort of binoculars, there are some sort of measureing Aurabesh symbols there, but not anything we can make much out of.
The fact that they didn't remove the numbers on the Tractor Beam control will forever remain a mystery. Maybe they thought nobody would ever notice them because they are so tiny? I mean, one can hardly see them, so why bother changing them?

Which reminds me of another thing... When Luke looks at the Bantha in ANH, there are ordinary numerals in his binoculars.

Oh, what the hell... Let the numerals be where ever they occur in ANH! Cause if not, what will I have to complain about for the rest of my life? :)

Look at the numeral on the wall next to the doorway of the entry of Docking bay 94, it's a big 94.

Yeah, just like it always was.

You are joking, right?

There are so many instances where arabic numberes are used, that it is ridiculous to say, that they are rare:

-X-Wing target scope (ANH)
-Death Star screen countdown clock (ANH)
-Screen in Emperor's throne room (ROTJ)
-Endor bunker screen (ROTJ)

Oh, and there was only text on the top of Veer's targeting scope.
The bottom looked like arabic numbers for me.

Allright! I GIVE UP!! But I still think they should replace our numbers wherever they occur throughout the whole StarWars-saga. They just don't seem to fit. But that's my own personal opinion.
Now, let's forget I ever even mentioned it. :)

To be honest, I never noticed them in ESB and ROTJ.

And while your at it, redo the whole damn saga in Huttese or something, since it's in Earth-born English.

And what about "R2-D2" and "C-3P0". Why not change their names as well?

And why do the humans look like the humans from earth? Worst trilogy ever.
